I know! The first week felt like we'd been there for ages and the second flew by! Not long for you now!

I don't know enough about the technical stuff to know why only some of the pictures are showing. When I go in with my laptop and ipad I can see them fine but some are missing when I go in with my phone. I'm going to do some more days and I'll see how they go.

Day eight
Today was originally planned as AK in the morning with lunch at the Yak & Yeti and an afternoon at the pool to do a washing but the weather was forecast to be sunny in the morning and raining in the afternoon. We were able to rearrange both our FP+ and our ADR so we could switch them around and do the pool in the morning and AK in the afternoon. We phoned WDW dining and changed the Yak & Yeti to dinner.
Breakfast was at Old Port Royale. There's quite a good selection here including pancakes, french toast and omelettes. We both had the Bounty Platter which comes with eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, french toast and a biscuit. This was ok. Nothing great but not the worst CS breakfast I'd had. It's not something the CS places do well except maybe WPE. Bounty Platter We had lunch in AK choosing Restaurantosaurus by a process of elimination. We didn't want pizza, we were going to the Yak & Yeti later and Flame Tree Barbeque is off limits ever since I got food poisoning there in 1998. Yes I know, it's been 16 years but I still can't! Anyway Restaurantosaurus was heaving. Partly because it was right slap bang in the middle of lunch time and partly because it was peeing down. I had the burger and Marie the Mac & cheese hot dog. We both got chocolate mousse for dessert after remembering the cheesecake wasn't nice. We managed to get a table for two right next to the toppings bar. Although neither of us used it watching people at the toppings bar was interesting! The number of people who took their food to a table then went to get toppings was around amazing. There's nothing at the toppings bar to put the food on, you're supposed to put it directly on to your burger, hot dog etc but hardly anyone seemed to have grasped that and were using napkins and those tiny wee paper dished for ketchup to put onions, pickles, lettuce etc in! I didn't see anyone who looked like they were trying to get a free lunch though . Angus Bacon Cheeseburger & Mac& Cheese Hot Dog with Chocolate Mousse Dinner was Yak & Yeti. We had a fairly early ADR here - 4.45pm and I was worried we wouldn't be hungry as lunch hadn't been that long ago but actually we were ok. We had done the Y&Y a few years ago and I was disappointed by my menu choice then so had been keen to go back. This time I had the Duck with Anandapur Glaze. I had to ask the server about this as it comes with an orange wasabi glaze and I wanted to make sure it wasn't too hot. She said it wasn't, it was sweet so that was fine. She also allowed me to switch the jasmine rice for chicken fried rice. It was lovely. The duck came as a breast and a leg but the breast was easily separated from the bones. The chicken fried rice was nice but I don't remember seeing a lot of chicken! Duck with Anandapur Glaze Marie had the Baby Back Ribs which have a hoisin BBQ sauce and come with chicken fried rice and a sweet chilli slaw. This is what I had the last time and there wasn't much hoisin in the BBQ sauce. The sweet chilli slaw was really nice though. Marie really enjoyed these and made a right mess of herself eating them! Baby Back Ribs We both had mango pie for dessert which we got to go, not because we were full but because it was freezing in the Yak & Yeti! Someone at another table had said to their server but it didn't really get any better. It probably didn't help that it was raining outside. We really enjoyed this but next time we'll bring a cardi! Mango pie by the time we got to our hotel! It was really nice though! Credits used - OPR - 2 CS Restaurantosaurus - 2 CS Yak & Yeti - 2 TS Edited at 10:37 AM. |

Day nine
Today was supposed to be a "walking round World Showcase eating things from the Food & Wine carts" day. We had even kept snack credits for it. We then had a dinner ADR at Rainforest Cafe in DTD. It started off with a donut hole breakfast however by the time we got to Epcot we were hungry so decided to use one of our extra CS credits for breakfast at Sunshine Seasons. We both got the adult platter which was eggs, bacon, sausage, breakfast potatoes, french toast and a biscuit. This would probably have been nicer if I'd not spilt my coffee on it. I'm sure I could've gone back and got a fresh one but to be honest I couldn't be bothered! I managed to soak most of it up and carried on! Actually it didn't make much of a difference. The sausages were awful and the breakfast potatoes just ok. They had a bit of spicyness to them. I find with Disney breakfast the sausages can be a bit hit and miss and the breakfast potatoes either fantastic or pretty bad. The rest was typical CS breakfast.
Donut holes (and some hazelnut flavoured coffee mate I got in Walmart!) Breakfast Platter It was now nearly time for WS to open and we weren't hungry in the slightest. We wandered round all the stands and decided since we really wanted the filet mignon from Canada we would wait until we got that. It was amazing although you obviously can't choose how it's cooked so it comes medium. I thought this booth would be really busy but it turned out to be serving from both sides and the other side was much busier. We didn't have to wait at all. Great use of a snack credit at $7.25. Le Cellier Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon We ended up being hungry much earlier than our ADR time for RFC at 5.30pm but given that I'm a Landry select member it meant we were able to just pitch up and got a table straight away. The person checking us in said the Landry card meant we didn't have to make ADRs but I think if I had a large party I wouldn't risk it. This was the night we were using the Landry's Select $50 credit I had so we were DDP free again. We browsed the appetiser menu and as we were so hungry ordered some Cheese Sticks to start. These were great and just enough between us to keep us going. Cheese Sticks I had planned to get the macadamia crusted tilapia and coconut shrimp that I had the last time we had dinner here however it's no longer on the menu. I debated and ended up with Primal Steak (a New York Strip served with garlic mashed potatoes) and added coconut shrimp to it. Halfway through it I remembered I'd also had steak for lunch! This was nice but I couldn't help compare it to the melt-in-the-mouth filet I'd had earlier in the day. This was unfair as they're two different kinds of steak. Primal Steak Side of Coconut Shrimp Marie had the Parmesan chicken which was served with linguine. She said it was nice but didn't eat the garlic bread. She said it was very hard. Parmesan Chicken Marie had a cocktail and I had a slush drink. I don't remember what ones.
