Er, where's the rain - final thoughts and future plans

I was worried before we went that our 2nd trip would not be as good as our 1st, but it was, just in different ways. I'm really glad we mixed it up a bit this time, staying longer at Universal and visiting different parks.

Hard Rock Hotel was amazing and I would love to stay there again Probably for longer if I'm honest. I think I would do 7 nights Universal based, and 7 nights Disney based for our 3rd trip. Universal is great for Seaworld and Busch, and also does seem to be nearer to a lot of the Malls/Outlets, so cheaper to get to if, like us, you don't hire a car. Busch I loved, although I know we were really lucky with the weather and may not have felt the same if the rides had been closed. I would happily go there again. I'm glad we went to Seaworld, to see it for ourselves, but unless the other 3 really wanted to go again, then I wouldn't make it a priority. The Mall visit was fun, and again I would want to be braver in future and visit some of the outlets too, and do more off-site eating. I think I would also do the Disney part first as we definitely were spoilt by the FOTL passes at Universal, and it took a couple of days to get used to queuing again. Diagon Alley was just brilliant, and really brought the whole Harry Potter theme to life Worth going just for all of that really.

We enjoyed our stay at POFQ again, but have decided that it is time to try somewhere different next time. Beach & Yacht club really appeals to all of us, and we love Epcot so would be great to be based so near. The QSDP worked really well and we found enough choice around the parks so that it wasn't all just fast food (other than Ffion and her chicken nuggets obviously ). The OOP meals we had were really nice, and Crystal Palace and Beaches & Cream were highlights. Memory maker was worth having for the ride photos, and magic shots and, after reviewing all the photos we have, I think I probably would purchase it again, as we have had some beautiful family canvases done which we wouldn't have had otherwise. Yes, some of the pictures are a bit dodgy, but there are enough that aren't, so I've kind of changed my mind on that since we got back.

Look the whole place was empty and just as she took the photo some kid in bright orange appears. What's that all about?

FP on the whole we liked, and MDE was a great addition. The magic bands worked well and were easy to use.

We were so lucky with the weather this time, but it was incredibly hot which did drain us on occasions. I think this is probably our last August trip. Would like to do Hallowe'en/Christmas but that will be a few years off yet. Maybe late June for the next one.

We did do too much I think, but it's hard not to. We all really suffered with jet lag when we got back, Ffion especially, and then had colds etc so was really a good month before we all got back to normal. None of us seem to be able to sleep on a plane, so maybe a daytime return flight would be better for any future trips. No complaints with BA. The train was worth doing, just wish they had more luggage space. Would definitely stay at the Premier Inn North again as a really good value hotel, in a great location. Have no complaints with Charter Travel either, and will happily recommend them in the future.

We do plan to go back to Orlando again, but not for a few years. Georgina is currently year 11 and is then looking to go to college, so will be GCSES results next year, and then A'Levels after that. Then Ffion will be in year 11, so I think we are looking at June 2018 at the earliest. However, we would all like to go back to DLP again as we really love it there, and so much has changed since our last visit. So I think summer 2016 is being pencilled in for that

It was great to spend time altogether, and all being in one room was fine. Yes we had a few heated moments, but nothing that spoilt it in anyway. And we had so many fab moments that you soon forget the niggles.

We have to go back though as I still haven't had a jalapeņo pretzel, a citrus swirl, ridden Rip Ride Rocket or taken the boat from Hollywood Studios to Epcot which were all on my must do list for this time.

Thankyou to everyone who has read/commented on my trip report Hopefully I haven't sent you off to sleep too many times. I have really enjoyed writing it, and am so pleased to have a record of our holiday this time, as there are so many bits of our 1st trip that I have forgotten. If you're thinking about writing one then do it - it really is worth doing.

Can't believe the trippie is over already. I've really enjoyed reading it and seeing the pictures.

Universal seems to be turning into much more of a popular place everywhere now.!

I also don't sleep on the plane and it makes me feel awful to. It really makes a difference!
So glad you had a great time though xx

It's so nice to have plans for the future, something to look forward to. I hope all your new plans come to fruition and that you get to to all the things on your list that you didn't manage to this time.

Thanks again for sharing

I've really enjoyed your report, thanks for posting. I really must find time to get some more of mine done, especially as we overlapped a few days out there.

We too loved the Hard Rock and have been talking about staying longer and doing SeaWorld, Busch etc from there before staying onsite at Disney for the second half of a trip. Great minds really do think alike.
