ADRs are booked!

So last Thursday was our big 180, and we were ready and poised at the laptop at 11AM. Only for MDE to refuse to work. We kept trying and trying, but the only day we could book was May 5th.

So we got on the phone at 12, using Skype since it was free. We got through straight away to Fatima, the nicest person I've ever dealt with in customer service. We were on the call with her for a good hour as our reservations weren't linking up (I think it was a mix up with the phone number) but she made me note all the confirmations down to link them up manually.

We managed to get everything we wanted, including Be Our Guest and we didn't even have to re-jig our days. She also mentioned that she'd marked on all the restaurants that we were celebrating an anniversary and went on to ask to speak to Lewis in private. I can only imagine that there is a surprise of some sort in store for me... I'm excited yet nervous at the same time!

Our list of ADRs is as follows:-

May 6th - Be Our Guest 5:25PM
May 7th - Yak & Yeti 12:00PM
May 7th - Raglan Road 8:00PM
May 8th - Via Napoli 5:45PM
May 9th - Grand Floridian Cafe 9:00AM
May 10th - Sci Fi Diner 6:00PM
May 11th - Tusker House 8:00AM
May 11th - Jiko 8:00PM
May 14th - Flying Fish 8:30PM
May 15th - Wolfgang Puck Cafe 7:00PM
May 16th - Ohana 8:30PM
May 17th - Beaches and Cream 12:00PM
May 17th - Les Chefs de France 6:00PM

So excited now that our plans are secured into place!

A Few Disney Purchases

A while back I ordered some bits from Etsy to take with us on our 2015 trip. I know we still have 5 months to go but I just couldn't help myself!

The Magic Band clips are from a seller who looks to have been shut down but I love them. Wall-E merchandise isn't the easiest to find but since Lewis likes it so much I try my best We also got some buttons from this seller. Again, Wall-E themed. I love the designs on her buttons, they're so cute!

On another note, last week was my birthday and Lewis got me some Tsum Tsums! I was so disappointed that they didn't bring them to the UK at the same time they launched in the US, so I'm so grateful that he tracked some down on eBay for me

I also found out today that Virgin are starting to charge for seat allocations from the 18th November. I honestly don't think I could justify spending £100 on something that was offered for free this year, but I guess we'll have to see what happens.

Virgin Seat Booking

Last week I found out from The Dibb that Virgin were implementing their seat selection charge from the 18th, and that they wouldn't be honouring bookings made before this date.

I can imagine the bigwigs at Virgin are like this:

Whereas I was more like this:

Since we really wanted to sit in a row of two again and didn't necessarily want to distress a total stranger if I came down with one of those icepick headaches again (I'm pretty sure the woman on our row during our descent into Prague last year thought I was dying) we paid the extortionate £100.

As of yet I still haven't had any correspondence from Virgin or TCD notifying me of this charge, which I really think they should have done. Hardly any seats on our flight have actually been booked so far and all seats in the bubble are still available, so there mustn't be that many people who know about it.

Never mind, at least it's done.

We still have our Universal tickets to book, but I'm not 100% sure on where's best to get them from. We're only going for 2 days but I'm assuming the price for a 14 day ticket is the same? I guess it's not really too urgent at the moment though!

I loved reading your first trip report and your planning for this trip, how exciting! We are planning for May 2016 so this time next year, hopefully we will be as organised as you. Like you we have only been once before and once was not enough! We stayed at Port Orleans FQ in November last year and we loved the resort :-)

That's good to hear, I'm really looking forward to staying there! Though I can imagine the total opposite of staying at CBR. Have you got anything set in stone for your trip yet?

MagicBand Customisation & More Purchases

156 days to go!

I feel like our countdown is absolutely flying - I mean where has this year gone, it's less than a month until Christmas?! Madness. We've decided to customise our MagicBands just to tick something else off the list.

Since we have our Wall-E and Eve clips for our MagicBands, I've decided to pick blue and Lewis has gone with yellow, so they match up.

Even though the countdown is ticking away quickly, with us having booked our ADRs and mapped out what we're doing each day I'm getting a bit impatient. I remember feeling like this at this point last year too though, so I'm also putting it down to being so wet and cold.

On the upside however I recently bought these earrings from JuniperAndIvy on Etsy. They were such good value and they look adorable. I might actually order some of the Hogwarts ones for our Universal days!

Hopefully my next update contains something a bit more exciting, but with not much left to sort (FP+, trains to Manchester, Universal tickets) it looks like we're playing the waiting game.

An ADR Change

Long time no update! If I'm honest not much has been happening on the planning front but at least we can now say that we go this year!

We were looking through our plans last night and I was checking out restaurant reviews on TripAdvisor when I noticed that Wolfgang Puck Cafe was pretty much at the bottom of Disney World restaurants. I don't know why I didn't look at the reviews for this restaurant in the first place but we were starting to regret booking.

After much deliberation we decided to change our reservation in favour of the new Trattoria Al Forno on the Boardwalk instead. Since this was our mall day we were happy to go anywhere once we got back.

We've had all our money saved up for a good few months now but are waiting to pay the full balance towards the end of February, which doesn't seem all that far away now!
