The Beginning of an Obsession | May 2014 | Day 14 | Last Full Day at Magic Kingdom

Index

I can't believe I'm writing up our last full day! We purposely left this day blank in our planning because we weren't sure what we would have wanted to do, but after falling in love with Magic Kingdom we couldn't spend it anywhere else.

I'm sorry if this trip report has gone a bit overboard with MK!

We arrived at about half 10, and we noticed the park was much, much busier today than the other days we'd visited. I gathered this was because people pulled their kids out of school a week before the holidays?

We didn't have any problems really, it was generally just packed.

We grabbed some breakfast from the Main Street Bakery (Starbucks) using a quick service credit each and settled down to eat it near the Ice Cream Parlour. As usual, Lewis' name was spelt wrong.

We caught the end of Dream Along with Mickey after breakfast, and I wish I'd watched this from the beginning but we just kept missing it throughout the entire holiday!

We strolled on in to Fantasyland after that (I say strolled... I distinctly remember being rammed in the heels by a woman with a pushchair ) and jumped on the carousel before heading into Philharmagic.

I just went to check my calendar to see what FastPasses we'd booked that day, but there's nothing in there so I assume we booked it all the morning we went. I think we ended up using a good 8 or 9 in this day!

Anyway, we visited the Haunted Mansion next (my favourite) and wandered through to Adventureland - can you believe we only experienced Adventureland twice considering how many times we were in MK? Me neither!

We came to Adventureland with a purpose - to locate Aloha Isle and get a dole whip! Yes, we were on day 14 and we hadn't bought a dole whip yet.

There was a pretty big wait for one, but we went along anyway and ordered two pineapple floats with orange dole whip. Some of you may curse us for not choosing the full pineapple experience, but we enjoyed it!

We rode Peter Pan's flight and a few others before trailing back over to Tomorrowland for a visit to the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor, and possibly Stitch.

We also grabbed a photo outside the Rose Garden where Lewis had proposed at the beginning of the holiday.

After having our photo taken we spotted a great area for the Festival of Fantasy parade so we settled down and waited for it to start. I really do love this parade so much, I find myself singing it all the time and the floats are amazing.

I noticed the Peter Pan float was missing in this one though.

Since we were booking FastPasses at random today we thought we'd do something we hadn't done yet - meet Mickey Mouse. All I can say is awkward. I wasn't quite sure how to react to the fact that he talked! We got some (not very flattering) photos of us looking slightly creeped out and headed outside, stopping at Roy and Minnie for some pics.

I can't believe I'd been in Florida in 30+degrees for two weeks and my legs hadn't tanned a bit!

Anyway, we wandered into the Main Street Confectionary and just had to spend a snack credit. We went for what I believe was some sort of Smuckers jelly bar? I think Lewis got some candyfloss as well.

I feel like we did Magic Kingdom in the weirdest of ways today because we then went back over Fantasyland where we met Peter Pan. Another awkward character encounter... but it was mainly my awkward, not theirs. He played Peter Pan brilliantly!

We also went for another ride on Haunted Mansion and proceeded to get stuck for a little while. Not that I minded too much.

We fancied Cosmic Rays again for dinner since we really enjoyed the chicken burger last time, so we trekked back over to Tomorrowland. I really wish we had a pedometer on us on this day...

Aaaand back over to New Fantasyland we went. We're mad, right? We sat down for a little near Gaston's Tavern and had fun watching people meet him. I've decided that I make encounters with face characters way too awkward, but the Gaston meetings always look hilarious.

When we were sat down I realised the bottom of my neck was a bit hot, and lo and behold I'd burnt. After two weeks of wearing SPF50, I forgot to put a small amount above the collar of my t-shirt and was punished for it.

Time was getting on a bit so we went for a browse in the Main Street shops. We also got some photos printed since we didn't have Memory Maker. We paid about $30 for 6 which I didn't think was too bad really.

We rode the Walt Disney World Railroad, and when we returned to the station we thought it might make a good viewing spot for the Main Street Electrical Parade, Celebrate the Magic and Wishes. We took up residence between a family hogging more chairs than they needed (but really it was other people that were bothered, not me).

Although it did get a bit busier up here eventually, it was nothing compared to the scrum we'd experienced in the middle of it all the other night.

Since this was our final night I didn't bother taking any photos of Celebrate the Magic or Wishes and just immersed myself in the experience. The railroad station is a really good spot for Wishes, but being a bit closer to the castle is a bit more ideal for CTM. It was the perfect end to such a good day, anyway.

We made our way back to Caribbean Beach for our final night before heading home tomorrow afternoon Lewis took a photo of one of the Disney buses so here's one if you like a good picture of a bus.

Our last day will most likely be pretty short, so I might do a bit of a "final thoughts" bit inside of it. Hope you've enjoyed reading!

We really enjoyed breakfast from the Main Street Bakery, the sausage muffin was really yummy.

Lovely last day, can't believe how long you managed to stay in the park!

Haha I think we took the entire holiday at full speed to be honest! We've definitely made room for a bit of down time for next year though

Perfect way to spend your last full day! I often wonder how many miles a day we walk at WDW! Heaps I would guess!

I think we will try viewing from the railway station this year
