2 weeks of heaven... 3: Blizzard Beach, Downtown Disney & Epcot

This morning we got the shuttle at 8.05 from the Rosen Inn. I believe it cost $17 return for each of us which isn't too bad compared with cabs. It was a lot more relaxed than getting a bus which we experience later in the holiday.

The shuttle dropped us at the TTC and I stopped in the shop straight away for some Minnie ears. We went to the ticket window and swapped our vouchers for the tickets, and bought magic bands which we had planned on getting all along. Although I had a hard decision choosing a colour and finally went for green

Turns out we had got there a bit early but the next shuttle wasn't for 2 hours so it was either get there early or late. We got the monorail to the polynesian and waited for a Blizzard Beach bus there for 30 mins.

Once we were on the bus we were there in no time and headed straight to get some food as the main gates still weren't open. We shared a pretzel.

Once we'd demolished this we got changed and paid for our locker, and waited with the small crowd to get into the park. I loved the music here the theme was amazing. The doors opened and we were let in, heading straight to the left of the park, my notes fail me here but we pretty much did every slide straight away with little or no queues apart from summit plummet which we only queued about 5 minutes for.We got the chairlift up there and had to share with a man from I will never ever do this again to myself- the pain was unbearable, and for the next few days our backs were bruised! I just wanted to be able to say I've done it, and I have!

I had to get a photo here, my Mum has had one framed on our landing since 1998 when we came for the first time.

After doing all the slides we were both a bit too excited to have a wonder around so we got changed and hopped on a bus to art of animation. As we were on our way the heavens opened so rather than wait in the rain for a bus to Typhoon Lagoon we decided to head inside to have a look.

I loved it in there, and that is where we have decided to stay this year! While wondering around we both discussed that we weren't in the mood to do 2 waterparks in one day and decided to scrap that plan and head for Downtown Disney. When we left the sun was shining again! We waited for a Downtown Disney bus and I think it came straight away...

We had a quick look around the shops and knew where we would be eating, so walked over the planet hollywood.

Was quite a long walk with all the work going on and lots of bits being boarded up. We love Planet Hollywood and ignored the bad reviews before we headed out there. We had been to the one in London in 2013 and Lewis had the LA Lasagne and I was immediately jealous of his meal, so that's what I ordered this time. He went for a stuffed burger and we shared a spinach and artichoke dip to start- this is where our obsession with it started and I dream of it now!

When we left it was raining again, and not just raining- pouring. We had a quick look around some more shops and the same man with an ipad got us twice to do a survey, he was quite elderly and clearly had no idea how to use the thing and we felt bad saying no so we said yes both times. Only problem was he was so slow doing the questions and putting them into the ipad we were getting soaked! Now we were just a bit soggy and decided to give DisneyQuest a go because we probably wouldn’t fit it in any other time in the holiday. It was ok but we didn’t really have time to explore properly. We spent a long time playing the old arcade games which was a bit of a change from the parks.

There are far more photos today including our dinner at planet hollywood and disneyquest but I am having trouble uploading them!

When we finished in there we wandered back to the bus stops and stopped in yet more shops but neither of us bought anything as we still hadn’t visited any parks. We were unsure of what to do but while eating lunch I had managed to book us some fastpasses for Epcot so we got on a bus to the boardwalk. It was a bit muggy but the rain had stopped and we were glad of this. By the time the bus got there it was sunny again yay! We walked leisurely to Epcot World Showcase and stopped on the way in for our first photo pass pictures!

Our main aim of the day was Maelstrom as we knew it was going to close soon. We had a fastpass booked luckily as the wait was 50 mins! After this we went straight to Mexico and had a look around then rode the boat ride with the three caballeros. We hadn’t seen the film but enjoyed the ride, we’ve recently watched it though and it is really good.

We walked slowly to future world as we had another fastpass for test track. As we joined the queue it looked busy, even with a fastpass I think we were waiting for about 25 mins. There were frequent announcements about bad weather and the possibility the ride might shut, we thought we would take a chance which paid off as we were soon on the ride. I loved this, was not what I was expecting and Lewis liked it too.

By the time we had ridden this we had another fastpass for Spaceship Earth so we went on that. There was no need for a fastpass for this but because of the tiering we didn’t have much else to pick.

On our way there we stopped for some photos, the photographer was getting us to do some really weird stuff with our hands, when we realised it was because Lewis had wolverine on his tshirt! It looks odd until you see the tshirt.

We walked back and did living with the land, then wandered into club cool where I tricked Lewis with the Beverley mwahaha.

Now we focussed on the main reason we were here and went back over to world showcase. It was beginning to get dark but we weren’t tired yet, so went first to Canada and got some cheddar cheese soup from the food and wine festival stand. I’ve recreated this twice since we got back and both times it has been amazing, has to be my favourite ever soup.

We carried on walking anti clockwise but didn’t really fancy anything, it was really busy so we didn’t get much of a look at each country. We then got all the way round to the other side where I got a Belgian waffle with chocolate sauce- YUM; didn’t last long.

We also got some cheese balls which I think were mexican? not sure now, but they were doughy cheesey amazingness

Lewis wanted to get himself a dish and stopped at the Singapore stand to get some chicken and lemongrass curry which he loved, I just thought it was ok.

At one of the drinks stands I got a frozen strawberry drink (non-alcoholic as I wasn’t legal!) Just as I got this it was time to find a spot for illuminations, we thought this show was amazing, it’s amazing how everyone goes silent. Didn't take any pictures, we were too busy watching!

After illuminations we walked back through future world with the rest of the crowds and got on the monorail back to the TTC to wait for the shuttle, and got straight into bed again back at the hotel!
