Sounds like an amazing trip! I've never heard of Fork and Screen before, now I'm intrigued I really want to go on a Disney Cruise. Part of me actually wishes I'd booked one for this year! xx

Fork and Screen is amazing! Really comfy seats and tasty food, I would definitely recommend it for your upcoming hols .

I'm looking forward to the cruise and hoping I don't get addicted to those as well as WDW - you always need an excuse for 'next' time!

ADR Freak Out!

OH EM GEE! It's our ADR day tomorrow!

I can't believe that it is here already. It feels like I have been planning meals for aggeees, but now that it is nearly here I don't feel ready at all!

Off to have a prepping session tonight, charging iPads and laptops, checking lists and probably doing a dummy run as it has been a while since I last used it to book anything.

I will be really upset if we don't get some of them, especially BOG , but super ecstatic if we manage to get all of our favourites

Hopefully I will be able to update tomorrow with some good news.

Wow Laura! How exciting! I have everything crossed for you! Sending BOG vibes! From what peeps have said the laptop is your best option as the iPad and MDE don't really like each other 👍😊

Thank you, I really appreciate the BOG vibes

Will be using your tip about the laptop and have the iPads as a 'reserve'!

ADR Day

ADR Booking 180+10 Day

Today was 180 days out for us and seeing as we are onsite guests, we bagged the +10 as well . We were ready and waiting this morning with both of our tablets and laptops open and loaded at 11am for the release of our dates. There was tension in the room and we both had lists of what reservations we needed and in order of the difficulty of booking - with the hardest to bag, such as BOG, at the top of the list. It felt as if we were prepping and in competition for some big sporting and competitive event! We kept on checking every 30 minutes, from around 9:00am, just in case there was some kind of glitch and we were able to start booking a tinsy bit earlier.

I was sooo nervous, as I had planned the rest of our days around the reservations and the busy day guide, so not being able to book some of the selected restaurants would have meant that all of our plans so far would have had to be amended! ... If you have not already gathered, I am a slight control freak , which is probably why I was so stressed in the days leading up to this morning.

See all ready and raring to go with laptops and lists!

After checking online continually from 9am, with no luck, the dates were actually showing at 11am with available times – yippee! Or not! It would let you select the times you wanted for the first 10 days of our holiday, but then freeze or send you back to the home screen – Noooo! I had heard from others on the DIBB that there had been lots of glitches with online +10 bookings, so then began the tedious wait until 12 to phone and book. I was not a happy camper at this point!

So after all of that waffle, how did it actually go?!... we managed to get all of the first 10 days restaurants that we wanted , at pretty much the times we wanted (give or take 15 minutes). This includes the elusive Be Our Guest! The only two that we couldn’t yet book were House of Blues, as these are not owned by Disney and have not yet released any tables that far out; as well as the Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party, as this is not showing on the system and the CM did not know when they were going to be available. I will just have to keep on checking back every day and hope that I don’t miss them.

We have:

Saturday 1st August – 8am – Akershus Breakfast
Saturday 1st August – 2pm – Teppen Edo
Sunday 2nd August – 7:40pm – California Grill
Monday 3rd August – 8:00am – Tusker House
Tuesday 4th August – 7:00pm – Raglan Road
Wednesday 5th August – 8:05am – Crystal Palace
Thursday 6th August – 7:05pm – Ohanas
Friday 7th August – 7:15pm – Citricos
Saturday 9th August – 5pm – Be Our Guest

Whilst on the phone Nathan also booked the Keys to the Kingdom Tour for Saturday 9th August for 8:30am. This is going to be my favourite day of the whole trip! ... KTTK tour and getting to act like a nerd, followed by an early dinner at BOG and hopefully fireworks and cannoli’s at the TTDP to finish off the day! Super excited! The tour cost $168 for the both of us and as the exchange rate is not as good as last year, this works out to £116 or £58pp. I didn’t want to risk waiting for the exchange rate to go up though and miss out on the early time.

How cute is the pin that you get on the tour? I’m sure my dad will be after one of these for his collection!

The CM that booked them in for us was not the friendliest of CMs that we have had whist booking and making enquiries on the phone. She didn’t seem to have the full Disney spirit and seemed a little annoyed that we didn’t want to hear the whole spiel about DDP credits every time that we made another ADR. She only told us to have a “great” day at the end of the call, instead of the normal “magical” day. We weren’t being rude, Nathan just told her politely that we knew about the DDP, but she must have been having a bad day and I guess that it is really early their end!

On another note, I ordered some Disney ribbons from EBay a couple of weeks ago and the postman kindly delivered them whilst we were waiting for midday to roll around. They only cost 99p for 7 different ribbons, all a yard each. I am going to use them to tie around the suitcase handles to make them easier to spot and as there are quite a few I might also use some as bows for my hair. They are really cute and I think they were also a bargain!

I’m really happy that we managed to get pretty much everything that we wanted. I still feel a little anxious though, but as soon as the other 9 days are booked in with the (fingers crossed) TTDP I will feel completely relaxed and probably be jumping around the house like a complete loon!
