2 weeks of heaven... 9: Hollywood Studios

There has been a bit of a gap up until today... I have had problems getting my photos onto photobucket so just going to go ahead and post although have only managed to include memory maker photos!

Today was back to an early start, and we got on the shuttle at 8.05. I really preferred getting shuttles to the lynx bus, it is quicker, no stopping, no changing and it is right at the door. In my eyes it was worth the extra money.

We arrived at the TTC just after 8.30 and headed for the bus stop to HS. When the bus pulled up, we both looked at eachother and went "magic bands". We had left our magic bands at the hotel. No worries, we have the tickets instead right? NO. We were in such a panic I had visions of us getting 2 buses back to the hotel and back again. Then I thought we may as well go to the ticket window and ask for advice. The man suggested going to the ticket desk at MK to see what they could do. The man asked our names, looked at our credit cards and printed us new tickets and a memory maker pass! He was an older man, and admitted he was being a bit naughty in doing it. We were so relieved, that could have been half the day ruined! This man made our day!

A good thing was that we managed to see the opening show as we were walking in and queuing, although we were the only people walking the other way! I'm sure we could have done the same thing at HS entrance but wasn't worth going all the way there to be turned away.

Anyway, onto the day. We got the bus to HS from MK, we had now missed rope drop as planned and the queues were already forming. Our plan was to go straight to Rock n Rollercoaster which already had a 30 min wait, but as we had no fastpass for it we waited anyway. Amazing ride! I'm sure I enjoyed the Paris version better, but it had no queue when I was there so me and my sis went around about 4 times!

Next we were both starving so went to Starring Rolls. I knew I wanted a cupcake, and seeing frozen themed ones made me even more excited. Lewis isn't a breakfast or sweet person so just had a bagel.

After this we saw the queue for the Great Movie Ride was quite short and queued about 10 minutes. This was a good ride, but I didn’t get most of the references as it is a bit dated, but I think this fits with the theme of the park.

We knew the Backlot Tour was closing soon so went off in search of it… only to find we were too late it was gone! Oh well. While we were over that way we saw Mike and Sully, and then went into Wandering Oakens Trading Post. This was ok, it did look like it had been thrown together at the last minute, although it was a bit different to be building sandcastles (snowcastles) out of snow in the boiling heat!

We went to the counter in here and got a blue slush drink as it was almost time for our FP for the Frozen Singalong. I was singing my heart out, Lewis was sat, I’m sure he enjoyed it really :P. The man that presented it was really funny and was so over the top about it, he made the show. He reminded me of Cam from Modern Family.
We both walked out feeling peckish again but decided we should wait until after our Star Tours fastpass. We walked around to the area but it was too early so went back to Muppets 3D. This show was ok, as funny as the muppets are I found it a bit boring.

Once we came out our fastpass had opened so we did Star Tours. Again, this ride was cool but I didn’t get any of the references not being a Star Wars fan!

We breathed a sigh of relief knowing we could now allow ourselves time for lunch, and we headed for Pizza Planet as this was a must for us. Lewis had the meat lovers pizza and me the margarita. I loved the Caesar salad that came with it. I also liked the size of the pizza, it was perfect.

After we had finished I knew I wanted to see Beauty and the Beast, so we headed for the next showing of that. We were just on time so not many seats were left, we sat on the benches right at the back. This was good enough for us, and we made a quick exit when it was over.

We walked straight over to Tower of Terror and used our fastpass. We were gutted the queues for so long we only got to ride this once the whole holiday, as when we think about our favourite ride this was definitely it. I enjoyed the Paris version, but I find this one so much more exciting.

After getting most of the rides done, we wanted something to do until our fastpass for Toy Story Mania opened. I knew I wanted to look in Walt One Man’s dream so this is what we did It was great to walk around leisurely, looking at things that inspired the person that had been the reason for our whole holiday!

Now, our fastpass window was soon approaching so we went to queue. We were thankful we had a fastpass for TSM as the CMs advised everyone trying to enter that there was no standby line for the day, they were testing to see if it works better with just fastpass. I think this was a bit unfair on people who hadn’t planned on visiting until the day before, as the only fastpasses left were really late! The ride was good, better than buzz but not good enough to queue for hours.

We headed for a fastpass kiosk after this to see if we could ride Tot or Rock n rollercoaster again, only the times were too late for us. We left it, and went over and met Ralph and Vanellope.

We only went in to kill time before the Little Mermaid as we were so early, but by the time we got back it was full! Doh.

We had a little look in all the shops and got our bus back to the TTC to get our shuttle back. We were on it at 8pm.

We opted for TGIs this evening, with a sampler to start that consisted of wings, pretzels and mozerella sticks. I had spinach flatbread which I didn’t really eat much of, and Lewis had Cajun pasta which was lovely.

Sorry no photos of dinner

Thanks for reading

So lovely that the CM was able to help you out of the fix with the tickets. It would have been a disaster if he hadn't!
