I like to think it's a pretty good dinosaur impression!

Well, it does fold away into the pocket, so it would be really easy to store!

Primark Haul & Easter Holidays

I’ve had a very busy Easter holidays so far, but very enjoyable… you might want to skip a little further down if you’d prefer to skip to the Disney purchases!

To kick the holiday off last weekend Nathan took me to West Midlands Safari Park. It’s been a pretty hectic time at work and Nathan wanted to make sure that I actually took a little bit of time during the holidays to relax. As I’m sure many Dibb teachers out there will know, it is pretty easy to spend most of the breaks catching up on marking, planning and other admin bits and not taking any time out to actually have a break! We had a fabulous day – I got to stroke a Zebra and feed a hippo! It did rain a little bit, but that was mostly when we were driving around the savannah, so we didn’t get too wet. One of the main reasons for the visit was to see the new Dinosaur area that has just opened up. I am a massive lover of dinosaurs, so was super excited and it didn’t disappoint. The animatronics and theming were brilliant.

You’ll probably see my dinosaur impression a couple of times in my actual trippie as well, at DinoLand and Jurassic Park, it’s a favourite pose of mine!

I was also treated to a night at the theatre in Birmingham to see Shrek the musical. It was very funny, especially Lord Farquaad, who was full of innuendos! There was a hysterical woman in the audience who thought he was hilarious, so would carry on laughing long after everyone else had stopped, which then set the rest of the audience off again! I would definitely recommend the production if you get a chance to see it and it made me even more excited about our trip to Universal. I often forget how funny the Universal films are, as I love Disney so much!

The Hippodrome theatre in Birmingham.

Nathan had to go up to Aberdeen and Edinburgh for work, so I snuck along to keep him company for the eight hour car journey. It was actually snowing when we were in Aberdeen?! We stayed at a lovely hotel in Edinburgh (The Village) and I managed to do lots of shopping when Nathan was busy at work, which is where most of my purchases are from.

It was a very funky hotel, with a huge shower. I don’t know why we ended up with two double beds though?!

Let’s get back to actual Disney info! So, when Nathan was busy working I filled my time up with shopping! Edinburgh is a very picturesque city centre, but it also has an absolutely huge Primark and I spent a small fortune on holiday bits!... I did buy some stuff for Nathan as well in my defence! I love reading everyone else’s purchases, so I hope you enjoy perusing these.

I find t-shirts can be very stifling in the Florida summer humidity, so prefer more floaty vest tops and Primark has got quite a few new Disney ones in ready for everyone’s holidays. I think they were all £5-6 each.

I love this Flounder one, I’ll probably where it to MK ready for the new Little Mermaid ride or maybe at MGM for the show? Umm, decisions, decisions…

This Minion top will be for our HRH stay and day at Universal Studios, hopefully I will be able to get a picture boogying with one of the Minions whilst wearing it.

This is perfect for when we do the 5k around Castaway Cay, as I imagine that I will get very ‘sparkly’ running around a Bahamian island!

I also got this fabulous Mickey rain mac for £10, which is going to be brilliant for the afternoon showers. I was gutted last year when I missed out on the Minnie ponchos with ears that Primark had in, so I am glad that I have finally managed to find a Disney themed piece of rain gear.

The bikinis were really cheap, the green set was only £6 and then I picked up the cute pineapple bottoms for £3 so that I can mix and match with them. I like the twist detail on the top and it has multi-way straps to help prevent those pesky tan lines!

I got a bit carried away with the accessories, especially the sunglasses. They were £1 a pair and the amazing fold-up ones were £1.50 a pair. A navy blue pair of the fold-up sunglasses might have also slipped into my basket and might already be being used! I thought the little nude bag for £3 will be handy as a park bag, as with Magicbands I won’t need to carry much around (plus Nathan will have a rucksack for the bigger bits!). I couldn’t resist the bikini bags, especially the ice-cream set for £3. On the days we go to the waterparks or beach, it will be handy to have somewhere to store our wet cossies and the ice cream purse will be ideal for the day at Castaway Cay to put our room keys in. The little Minnie & Mickey purse is actually a manicure set and was in the sale for a bargainous £1!

For the days when I need to carry more around, like travel days, I also ‘bagged’ this cute rucksack for £10. I’m quite tempted to start using it already, so I am going to have to hide it from myself.

You cannot make a Florida trip without themed pants! I got a pair of Potter and Minion ones for HRH at £2 a pair. Nathan’s were on sale so only cost £3 for both of the Transformer ones. The Monsters Inc. socks are for me for the plane, as I find that my tootsies get a little bit cold from the aircon, these were £2.50 for the set.

Wow, that is a lot when you write it all out! I might not have brought Nathan as much as I brought myself – he only has pants on the list so far.

I did pick up this Hogwarts tee for him, again for our stay at HRH, I’m not sure if he will want to wear this for our Hogsmeade or Diagon Alley visit. This was £8 I think?

These swimming trunks are amazing! They were £10, which was a bit more than most of the men’s swimwear, but if you look closely they have lots of Hawaiian floral print Mickey heads and full Mickey silhouettes hidden on them.

Last things are for me again! This time from Hollister, as they had a sale on when I nipped in. The cami was £12 and has fancy criss-cross straps that I can’t seem to position in a way to get a decent photo and the giraffe tee was £14. This is going to be part of one of my AK outfits, I love how it is sticking its head out of the pocket!

I will have to start planning what I will be wearing, as I have a feeling that I could over-pack if I keep on buying more clothes. I hope everyone is having a fantastic Easter and that you are all indulging on lots of chocolate eggs! I’ll be back soon to update with week 2 of our Disney adventure plans.

Thanks for reading,

Oh wow! I love those Mickeys shorts. Need to get a pair for my other half. Not convinced he'll wear them though!

Disney Plans Part 2

Disney Plans Part 2

So, I left you after our trip to MGM and we still have 14 more Disney Days to go… Yippee…

Wednesday 5th August: Our last breakfast ADR today (unless I can get one for BOG if the test phase works out well) and we have an early morning appointment with Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace. I have to be honest, this is not my favourite restaurant, but I really want to try and get some empty(ish) Main St. photos. After we have filled our boots with crispy bacon, we will be making our way over to the Swan and Dolphin to pick up our hire car. In past holidays I have always used Disney transport and taxis, so this will be a new experience for me, I’m still not sure if I will be brave enough to do any driving .

When we have our wheels, the next stop today is to Vineland Outlets to go SHOPPING! I love shopping, especially American shopping, so I will probably end up spending way too much and worrying about how I am going to get it all home. I will definitely be visiting the Disney outlet to get some bargains. The plan is to pop into Walmart afterwards to grab some drinks and snacks for the parks and room – actually, it probably won’t be a case of popping in! We normally spend a good couple of hours looking around at all of the random goods that they stock and laugh at how they organise the shelves . Nathan loves a good mooch around an American market, especially the cereal and biscuit aisles!

Dinner is at The Olive Garden, somewhere that we have never been before, but that always looks extremely tasty on Dibber’s trip reports. I can’t wait to sample the bread sticks!

In the evening we are going to re-live part of my childhood holidays. We are going to Port Orleans Riverside (aka Disney Dixie Landings the first time I stayed there) to have some drinks and see Bob Evans. I have many memories of sharing a pizza with my family whilst laughing at Bob and joining in the fun. I know that he doesn’t perform at POR as much as he used to, so I have made sure that we have pencilled in an evening when he is there.

Thursday 6th August: This is currently down as a free day. I have tried to put a couple of these in to the plans, so we can see how we feel and add a bit of spontaneity into the holiday . I have set aside a CS credit for today, so we can either have a lazy morning and breakfast at the hotel or grab a lunch at the parks depending on how we feel. I’m guessing that we will probably be pretty tired at this point, so appreciate a bit more of a relaxed approach to the day. I quite fancy visiting AOA and Celebration at some point, so we could do one of these – see I don’t have full OCD tendencies .

We do have one thing booked in today and that is dinner at Ohanas - Completely excited about the noodles, wings and skewers of meat. I don’t think that you can watch Wishes from the beach anymore, unless you are a Poly hotel guest, which was the original plan. If we can’t, we have an early enough ADR to be able to nip across to MK to view them instead.

Friday 7th August: Today will be a completely different Orlando day for us, as this will be our first road trip. We are going to have a bit of a beach day and head over to Clearwater. I want to build some sandcastles on the beach and dip my toes in the sea, as well as ride on Little Toot and see some dolphins. We will have some lunch whilst we are there, but I have no idea where. Does anyone have any suggestions or recommendations?

I have treated Nathan to some baseball tickets for his anniversary present, so we will be driving straight from the beach to see the Tampa Rays play the New York Mets. Nathan wants to see the stingrays and have time to take in the stadium and atmosphere before the game, so the plan is to get there fairly early. I am guessing that Nathan will be buying lots of merch, I already know that he would like a baseball cap. It will be a late night, as the game starts at 6pm and they normally last around 3 hours, this is before the drive back to SSR .

Saturday 8th August: After our late night the day before, we have a late start today and a lie-in planned. The rest of the day should also be relaxing with some more shopping – whoop! The venue today is Florida Mall to grab even more bargains and goodies. Lunch will be a walk around the food court eating all of the samples – he he, with some Five Guys thrown in!

We will need to be back at the hotel with enough to make ourselves all presentable for our dinner at Citricos. This was one of Nathan’s ADR choices and a new restaurant for me. The reservation is for 6ish, so we have the option of nipping into a park afterwards for a bit of a fix, as it will have been a few days since our last visit and we might be getting withdrawal symptoms!

Monday 10th August: This is the day that I am most excited for, as we have so many fun things planned . We are starting off with the KTTK tour – Ahhh! We have booked in for the first tour, so we can get into MK early for some more empty MK photos, but also so we don’t melt from the heat when we are walking around. I am avoiding researching this, as I want it all to be new and exciting. I do know that we get lunch at Columbia Harbour House included, which was one of the CS places that I wanted to eat at. I am going to be in full on geek mode and loving every moment of it!

We also have an early dinner ADR at BOG. I know that this will be our second visit, but I am still ridiculously excited about going. I REALLY want some grey stuff! We have noted that we are celebrating on our reservation, so hopefully we will get a nice server. We should also get to meet the Beast himself this time, as I don’t think that he is around at dinner.

We were originally going to book for the TTDP for tonight, but as already mentioned the price hike put us off a return visit. Instead I think that we are going to book a Wishes FP+ and use a snack credit for a massive ice cream sundae or cookie sandwich from Main St. to munch on whilst waiting for the show to start.

Tuesday 11th August: We will be returning to AK today to ride the attractions we didn’t manage on our first visit, but mostly to see the shows. We will have had a few busy days, so I am thinking that we will appreciate a slower pace, with lots of opportunities to sit down! I am looking forward to seeing the Lion King again, as this is my favourite show at WDW, the singers are always amazing.

We will have lunch at AK, which will more than likely be at Yak & Yeti CS – nom, nom, nom! Nathan really wants to try a jalapeno cheese pretzel, so we might get a few snacky things to share. I know that the chicken egg fried rice at Y&Y counts as a snack credit and seems great value.

Nathan wanted me to point out that it was chucking it down, which is why he looks so moist!

The plan is to save room for our evening plan, a Giordano’s pizza. These look sooo amazing, they make me drool every time I see them in someone else’s trippie . We will probably find some adverts to watch on TV and have a relaxing evening in the room with our take-out.

Tuesday 11th August: This is down as a ‘relaxing’ day, so I have nothing at all planned for today! Maybe a bit of pool time? We do have evening plans at Sanaa, so we can go back and see one of our honeymoon resorts and have a scrummy curry, but this isn’t until the evening. I tend to get a bit bored sunbathing all day though, so the likelihood is that we will end up doing something on this day… Frozen Summer Fun package anyone?

One more week at Disney left, I’ll be back soon with the last of our WDW plans.

I'm really excited for our Keys to the Kingdom tour too. Trying desperately not to look at anything that mentions it in case there is spoilers!

Love the Wishes plan for your KTTK day because it is the same as ours! We were also going to do the TTDP and were put off by it doubling in price so are planning on FP, a cupcake and sundae to share.

I think I've manged to shoehorn the Frozen package in though - can't wait until it goes on sale! DH is less excited
