2 weeks of heaven... 11: Seaworld

I've had a very long gap between writing this report, I've got very caught up in the planning for this year! I am in the process of doing a pre trip for that which will be on soon

Today’s alarm went off at 7.45. We both felt tired even after a relatively quiet day yesterday, and with no shuttle booked, we just set the alarm again for 9, and hit snooze until 9.30. This was probably for the best as by the time we got to the trolley stop we managed to get on, even if it was a bit of a squeeze!

We were at Seaworld by 10.30, and the park was still quiet. We went straight to the desk to sort out our reservation for Dine with Shamu. We queued for what felt like forever, and when we got to the front the man just circled where to go on our map and wrote down a time. What a waste of time queuing couldn’t they just have a sign for that!

We hadn’t really researched this park so just headed wherever we felt and saw the Penguin ride (not sure what the name is!) had not a long wait. The problem was as soon as we joined the queue it was announced it had broken down. The queuing area was really hot, and as its all white the heat just reflects back at you! Most people were leaving, which we thought about, but knowing our luck as soon as we leave it will be working again. So we stuck it out, I think we were waiting a fair while but it didn’t bother us. The ride was a bit weird but I did love seeing all the penguins at the end. It was lovely to see all sorts of breeds.

When we got out it was about 12 (wow we must have been waiting a while!).
We decided to get lunch now as we hadn’t eaten yet, and went to the place opposite the ride. I had orange chicken and Lewis had teriyaki something or other. This was an ok lunch and Lewis loved that you could use Tabasco here!

We went straight to Journey to Atlantis after this. We didn’t get too wet and really enjoyed it. As we were close by we went to the next Dolphin Show, another great show and it was our second dolphin show we have seen together, the first being in Barcelona. This one was definitely better!

It was early afternoon now and we wanted to get more rides done so went on Manta. This was a good ride and we only queued for about 10 minutes even at midday.

Being dog lovers we had planned on watching pets ahoy so went straight over there, and I asked if we could go in the tower after as it was close by. The show was so good and funny, we loved that the animals looked so happy doing it. The tower on the other hand, what a waste of time! A long wait, in the heat, and when we finally got up there you can hardly see anything as the windows are blacked out! Never again.

It was getting closer to our Dine with Shamu time, and we thought we would go over and ride Kraaken first. For some reason we decided no on our way and went back to wait for the show instead, planning on doing Kraaken after the show. We were quite early and the seating was assigned so there was no need to be so early so don’t know why we didn’t ride first!

Our table was right next to the railings, lucky us! I had booked quite far in advance so maybe this has something to do with it. It did sort of pay off to be early as we were the first ones up to the buffet! The food was lovely, and the mac and cheese was so good I didn’t stop going back for more. We both had a drink with our dinner and near the end our server asked if we wanted more. We waited and waited but we needed to leave for the One Ocean show. We weren’t bothered as we didn’t really need another drink and could see it was busy. As we were leaving she ran over apologising and got us kiddies cups to take away! We were so happy with how lovely she was, we could see she felt so awful but we weren’t really worried!

Our view with dinner... would really recommend dine with shamu, the food was nice and it is something different.

We really enjoyed the show!

And me with my special cup..

After the show we raced to Kraaken, but when we got there it was closed! My name was mud as I was the one that decided we should go on it after the show! Oops. With everything closing we decided just to get the trolley home, which again was packed but luckily we got on the first one that came. This is where you realise just how ignorant people are, where families push and shove to get on even though they arrived at the stop last! I will not be getting the trolley pass again.

We popped into Walgreens on the way back and had a look around, picking up a few snacks and drinks. We were back at the room at about 7.30, and as we had already had dinner we stayed there for the night. I had seen an advert for Modern Family, and being the show’s biggest fans we were waiting for that to start as it was a new season! When the episode we saw was aired in the UK we couldn’t stop thinking about our holiday it brought back memories of watching it in our hotel room.

Thanks for reading again, well done if you have made it this far ☺
