Disney, Finally here we come and the Grandkid's still don't know Sshhhh- Sept 2014 Day 7 Seaworld
Day 6 Universal Studio
Day 7 Seaworld So today we were supposed to be going to Busch Gardens however we had to change our plans as Steve had woken up feeling really rough today so decided he was going to stay at home today so we decided that we would go to SeaWorld instead. Now Ben has never driven in America before and this would be his first time and I have to admit I was really impressed with him. I have to admit I think he is a very good driver anyway but was a little worried at the size of the Beast, now he does drive a transit for work so this probably helped him. Once we had all had our breakfast we got ourselves ready and headed off. We very soon got to SeaWorld and parked up then made our way to bag check and then into the park. What I like about these parks are that they are so much quieter and you really don't have to worry about the queue's. It was another really hot day today so it was a slow walk for me but the rest of them didn't mind. Our first ride was Mantis, Ben, Stacey and I rode it as the others were too small and Louise and Lorna didn't want to ride it, have to say I did like this ride but it was most uncomfortable laying face down waiting to get off of the ride. Anyway after this we headed to see the Stingrays and we were there for a while, this was the first time I have touched a Stingray and they do feel slimy. We then headed to the Dolphins, the kids went to have a look at them but I sat in the shade. After this we decided we best make our way to Shamu to watch the show. Now I really did struggle with this walk and have to say at this point I was really missing Steve, however I carried on walking over the bridge just wish they had a bit more shade while walking over there. We finally got there and the kids all decided they wanted to go in the splash zone (silly children) I on the other hand sat further back, the show was really good but not as good as when the trainers were allowed to go in with them, however I do understand why they changed it. Anyway as they were sitting in the front row you can imagine just how wet they got. lol. So after the show we met up and they all started to wring out their clothes, Aiden then decided to have a mood again, as Steve wasn't with us Ben sorted him out today so everything smoothed out again really soon. We then headed to the Shamu Happy Harbour play area just behind the show where the kids had time to have a go on some of the little rides and run some steam off while I sat under the big climbing area. Very soon we decided to make our way to the Wild Arctic and headed in, now I was really looking forward in seeing the polar bears at the end of it, although on our way around we did take a few pictures However this was not to be and I must say I was a little annoyed, however I have since found out that the last polar bear has sadly died and this is why they were missing. So once out of this we decided we needed refuelling so we headed to Mango Joe's burgers and all got what we wanted, after this we headed back across the bridge and it was still just as hot going back over it. We then made our way to Journey of Atlantis, Lorna again didn't want to ride it and Chloe wasn't big enough so she stayed with Lorna, the rest of us headed to the ride. I drew the short straw and ended up in the front row with Hannah and got soaked, have to say I like this ride as well, once off Ben, Stacey and Gary went to ride Kraken while Hannah and Aiden asked if they could ride Journey of Atlantis again, this time I had to sit with Aiden as he was too small to ride alone again a great ride, when we got back the others were also back and Gary said he really like the ride and wanted to go again however we said we all wanted to go Antarctica. Louise took Lorna, Aiden and Chloe on the mild ride where as the rest of us went on the wild ride and it was good. We then got off and headed into see the Penguins, we decided it was a bit cold so made our way out, we then had to make our way out of the park as it was closing, however we did just pop into the shop and got a few things and then made our way out of the park, as we were walking to the beast we did notice that the clouds were starting to form. We all got in the beast and headed off where? Yes you've guessed it Wal mart, anyway this time it was Ben and Stacey that went in while we all sat in the Van and it was getting darker, then we heard it the thunder started first and then the lightening and finally the rain started to come down really heavy. Have to admit it was really great to watch and also really funny watching Ben and Stacey running back to the van getting very wet again. We then finally headed back to the villa where Steve was waiting, he said he was feeling a lot better, we then made dinner by the time it was cooked time was getting on so the kids got ready for bed and then went to bed followed closely by Ben and Stacey. Steve, Louise and I stayed up and watched TV, we seem to have got hooked on Cold case, once this finished we all headed off up to bed ready for another early start. Day 8 Rest Day

Yes, that was last November. I went with my twenty eight year old daughter and we had a crackin' time
We stayed on iDrive for the first time in many years and loved every second of it. We're usually in the Disney bubble minus a car so it was great to be able to see a bit more with the help of the iRide and Taxi's. At least your grandchildren have a focus and motive to save for the next one however long the wait |
