Day 14 Golf and Home

Conclusion to our holiday

So after all the planning we went on holiday and have to say how I really felt about this holiday. While it was our choice to take the whole family and I wouldn't want to change this holiday as it was lovely having them all there to experience Disney I do have to say I wouldn't want to do it again. Now some of you may say 'how can you say that' but my reasons are simple there were things we would have liked to have done but couldn't as we had to always think about the kids.

It took so much longer to go around the parks as the toilet breaks took so long as Chloe just didn't like the automatic flushes, these toilet breaks were ridiculous with this we missed quite a lot of time in the parks.

During this holiday Steve said we would have to come back again (ohhhh yes I shall be getting another Florida countdown). He did say that next time it would be on our own, so looking forward to that one but I think Lorna may want to go back as she didn't want to come home.

The villa was absolutely lovely, there were a few things we had issues with that the management company failed to complete however it states that if you want to complain you have to do that with the owner while on holiday, however I don't spend all that money to spend my time trying to get hold of the owner so I just let it go in the end.

Anyone renting the 15 seater van please be warned unless you are really fit it is unsuitable for little children and to be honest anyone. It has no steps and really hard to get in and out of what it really needs are some sort of steps.

Going in September, this was our first time going this time of year and to be honest we won't be going back. Warm weather I can deal with but it is the humidity that I couldn't cope with. Always take a poncho or brolly as September is hurricane season and it can be wet.
Luggage make sure they are very clearly marked, try to make it stand out as this may help you not to have yours being taken by mistake.

Update on our bag, although the other people took our bag back to the airport because they couldn't prove that they were on the flight they had to take it back home and phone Virgin up, they then had it collected and their bag delivered on the Saturday while we had to wait until the Sunday evening for it to returned. All happy in the end though.

So there you have it my trip report at last it is complete. It has been an experience to write one and in most cases I have enjoyed writing it however it can be very time consuming and you feel guilty that you don't complete it when you say you are but you also have to think about the here and now and try and fit it in when you can. When I first started this I was going to write that it would be quite a while before we went back as Ben and Stacey are due to get married in Cyprus in September 2015 so that would be our holiday for this year, however in February things changed as we are now going to become proud Grandparents again as Ben and Stacey have found out they are expecting a baby. It has come as a complete shock to them as everything was in its final stages of being sorted for the wedding in Cyprus, however the baby is due 3 weeks after they were due to get married which would mean Stacey being unable to fly. Panic set in as she wanted to get married before the baby is born. As so many of their guest have booked their flights and places to stay they needed to tell them, we have now put on hold our holiday as it's a fly drive we have got until September 2016 to use it, the girls will lose their flights as I don't see them going anywhere, and the new date for the wedding is April 10th.
So now you must have also guessed what we intend to do with our fly drive. yep in January Steve and I are heading back to Florida. Steve has already said he is looking forward to this holiday. So once again I now have a new countdown and am thinking of doing another report. We are going to be doing other things this time as well as Disney not too sure on the others yet.

It is now May 28th as I finally managed to finish this report and have to say we have also now had the wedding we were really blessed with the weather as the sun shone on us all. Here are the married couple.



I was going to add some extra photo's from the trip but I think you must have all had enough of me by now.

I am so glad you're honest about not wanting to do a huge family trip again, sometimes our ideas of things are very different from the reality. We are taking my mum with us next year for her first visit and I know it's going to be tough (more holidays I can count with the MIL!).

loved reading your reports. we went the same time as you, i was at Busch gardens the same day as you lol.

My kids keep saying start saving and come with us again, I politely said I would come if I could but we would stay somewhere else so we could still do our own thing if we wanted.


The rain really didn't spoil it though did it.

It is a different holiday when family come along, I agree with everything you said and it'll be nice for you and Steve to go at your own pace next time, having said that though what you both did for your family makes you awesome parents and grandparents.

I loved the wedding pic, you all looked fab, it'll be the biggest thing in your son and daughter-in-laws life to take their little one to Florida after its arrival.

If I ever need a new bathroom I'm tapping you!
