Epcot snacks

While walking through the World Showcase I decided we better use some snack credits. We had so many left! We had major plans before coming on all the different things we would be getting but just hadn't felt the need to as were struggling to fit them in!

I got a croissant donut. This was from a little place just before Canada. It was really nice. It was exactly as described.

The girls and Den each got an Ice Cream Waffle cone. They got vanilla and chocolate. Lily Belle made a complete mess of herself eating it. I think we used a poncho!

Chefs De France

This was a first for us. I had really trouble with this ADR for the World Showcase. I must have changed it 5 or 6 times. Me and Kelly wanted to go to Teppen Edo but Marian and Den vetoed it when I asked them. I then booked Biergarten but changed it with concerns of having done too many buffets already. Garden Grill came and went as we were supposed to be in the World Showcase. Nine Dragons was booked and then quickly cancelled. Chefs De France it was.

It was very busy outside the check in desk but we had no more than a five minute wait before we were called in. It was equally busy inside. It was after all Memorial Day. We had a nice table and our server introduced herself. She was called Fanny(snigger). She explained the menu and took drink orders.

Den and Marian went the Pre Fixed route while me and Kelly preferred things from the normal menu so we went that way.

We adults all ordered the French onion soup(Kelly and I paying oop). This was the real highlight of the meal for me. I thought it was lovely. I think Kelly did do. Marian and Den seemed confused by it!

The kids shared the bread that was brought to the table. It was nice bread but a bit hard for them.

For their main meals both girls had the burger and fries. They both enjoyed their meals. It was unusual for them to have normal fries with a table service meal.

Marian and Den both had the half roasted chicken with rissole potatoes and broccoli. I believe they thought it was just ok.

Kelly had the duck breast with cherries, sweet potato purée and pan squash. She liked the duck but the cherries would've gotten the late Oliver Reed drunk. Really strong liqueur.

I had the grilled tenderloin of beef. I quite liked the beef although nothing amazing. This is the bit that confused me. I've no idea what the side was! I didn't like it whatever it was. The menu says potato gratin but I don't think it was that, I think it was the polenta advertised with the beef short ribs. Oh well, I didn't like it. Anyone shed any light on what this is?

For deserts the girls got giant cookies each. They were nice.

I had the chocolate mousse. Pretty average.

Kelly had profiteroles. She said they were nice. Fanny(snigger) said it was the best desert on the menu. I should have got this.

Marian had the Creme Brűlée which she said was nice. Den had a coffee instead of desert. Kelly also got a coffee.

This I think was my least favourite meal of the whole trip. There was nothing particularly wrong with it but it was nothing special. I did like the French onion soup though. One place that I don't think any of us would rush back to. We used 6 t/s credits on this and paid oop for two French onion soups.

We really enjoyed Les Chefs de France when we went a few years ago but haven't managed back since. It's a pity you didn't get the correct side with the steak as the potato gratin was really nice! We enjoyed it and were considering it again for next year but your review has kind of put me off!

I hope not. There was nothing wrong in particular with it, it just wasn't stand out. You might have a great meal!
