Hmmm, I'm think I might have tried that a couple of years ago. I may just need to give it another go. Another trip ... Oh well, if you insist

Bubba Gumps Citywalk Thursday 27 August

We love Bubba Gumps and I was determined to eat here having signed up for a Landry's card and got Andy's birthday month voucher ( and hey, it really is his birthday). We did hit a hiccup with the card thing which I will put into the trippy - it got resolved by me using their staff office computer to access my emails ! Anyhoo, it meant we had $50 off the final bill - a big help.

Andy had Shrimpers Heaven

I had Mama's southern fried chicken - oh this is heavenly and massive portions !

The boys had chicken burgers

And we all shared the dessert sampler

After deducting the $50, the bill was $57 and we earned 75 Landry points - the bill doesnt reflect the actual price of the meals - for example mine was almost $20 but comes up on here as $8 because of the discount

And the bill would have been less if we had realised the beer had been ordered in the souvenir glass !

Great fun as always.

Bengal Bistro, Jungala, Busch Gardens

We arrived here just as it had opened at 1130 and the food was really fresh. It had a nice selection - bit pricey really for a burger- but on a par with the other parks !

Nice selections

Andy had the tower platter ( basically a burger and chicken tender) which was $11.99 and I had the cheeseburger $10.99

With 2 sodas it came to $31.

Longhorn Steakhouse, Vineland Road - Friday 28th August

Friday night at a steakhouse near the outlet - ooh recipe for a long wait.

So completely surprised to be seated within 5 minutes.

We had a lovely server , whom Andy treated to a rendition of Blue Moon as she had persuaded him to try this drink ( more parental embarrassment obviously). He also mentioned Connor's upcoming birthday...

We had the usual bread to start ( no pic, looks the same as last visit)

We had a voucher for a free appetizer and went for the cheesy mushrooms

Connor went for the full rack of ribs this time

Jamie had the chicken tenders

Andy had prime rib and went for two of the premium sides of creamed spinachand garlic cream potatoes ( nice but both a bit salty for us)

And I had the usual of Filet and Lobster- and this was the best steak by far...

As I was stuffed but determined to have dessert, I had red velvet cheesecake to go ( and was lovely at breakfast the next day )

The server then surprised us with a birthday ice cream for Connor

And the final bill - our most expensive meal of the holiday but totally delicious $114 and we left a $22 tip

4Rivers SmokeHouse, 1600 W Fairbanks , Winter Park Saturday 29 August

We had been really looking forawrd to the return to 4Rivers - the boys were a bit nonplussed as to what the fuss was all about and described the place as " weird" but did agree the food was delicious.

The boys and I all had pulled pork sandwich with beans - they had fries and I had the yummy cornbread. The sandwich is $8.49 with 2 sides included

The beans are in a BBQ sauce, the corn bread is quite peppery and the pulled pork - well, its quite simply DELICIOUS

Andy had a prime rib sandwich with beans and fries . This is a signature stacker sandwich and is $9.99 with horseradish and 4Rivers sauce and 2 sides included

I'm thinking of having their sign reproduced above my desk at work :

Oh my goodness, this is full on cowboy food on a tray. The boys had bottles of mountain dew and we shared a large soda. I cant find the receipt but I know we commented that it had come to around a very cheap $45.

And its a good job we had eaten well

As about 15 minutes later we found ourselves on the wrong end of car accident

but thats for the trippy ...

Just caught up with this Amanda. Food looks great. Could just eat a Flo's fillet with loaded baked potato now - that's always my order at Longhorns.

Sounds like the trippie will be interesting! We're getting lots of hints about what may be coming. It sounds like you may have had another eventful trip.

Haha, I know I only have the weekends to get these written so I want to get all the food bit done before I go back to work - as I already know I am walking back into a bit of nightmare so my already limited time looks like its going to be even less for a couple of weeks

Will look forward to seeing your report ... soon

Hello Jo, yes that filet is fab and nothing here seems to quite come close to it. I have given up having steak here - Longhorn's totally spoils me.

You know us, always an adventure on holiday. We really did have a great trip - i'm thinking of calling it "hit and miss" though as thats what it was - a bit hit and miss all the way !

Fultons Crab House, Disney Springs Sunday 30 August

Ah, Fultons, normally a last day tradition, thwarted on our previous trip by traffic so we were determined to make sure that we made it this time.
We had left the boys at Disney Quest as eating here had no appeal for them at all - and that suited us fine.

We ate upstairs for the first time, very lovely views, even when there was a torrential downpour ! (and boy did it rain)

Ah, Andy finally comes home !

Andy went for fish and chips $13

I had the burger $17

Both were delicious

We shared the chocolate creme brulee $9

And then I had the Bailey's coffee $9 - it was a bit sickly

total bill was $51 - we had already paid for $11 of drinks at the bar earlier

It was a lovely meal and made very amusing as the table behind us had insisted on ordering from the dinner menu and were getting really cross when told " thats not ready yet, ite being prepared for dinner , like the bread or potatoes they wanted" but hey, thats why there is a lunch menu ...

The server was super patient with them ...
