Perkins 5170 W Irlo Bronson Hwy Monday 31 August

Our last full day , sob , so we made a return to two cheap and cheerful favourites starting with the split lunch/brekky at Perkins

I had the Texas Tater tots ( with pulled pork)

Both boys had the chicken tender sandwich - they said the fries werent nice

Andy had the breakfast trio

It was nice but somehow not as good as our very first breakfast - probably the going home blues

Applebees 9990 Orange Lake

Our last meal - it was very busy , we had a 30 minute wait which we have never encountered at an Applebees before

We had a voucher for a free appetiser and went for the Honey BBQ boneless wings

I had the potstickers and and Kobe meatballs from the $9.99 for 2 menu.
These were yummy and the sauce with the meatballs was really spicy

Connor went for a bacon cheeseburger but didnt really enjoy it

Jamie had the cross cut ribs and boneless wings , again from the 2 for $9.99 menu. The ribs were ok, not the best.

Andy went for a triple cheese burger - he enjoyed this

And of course those delicious caramel pretzel bread bites ..

Last day blues and all that , I cant find the receipt. The burgers are on a deal on a Monday and are $6.99 so with the drinks and meals, it came to $58.

Virgin Premium Economy VS 40 Chicago to Heathrow

A completely unexpected upgrade to PE - and we totally loved it !

Some nice drinks to start

we opted for the chicken ( which was nice but not as nice as the meal with Delta)

I declined the after dinner drinks but Andy MAY have had a brandy or two ...

All too soon it was breakfast time

And it was really tasty !

There was also a blueberry muffin that was nice too

And that was it . Hols over for another year.

We had a great time - a couple of low points , just minor hiccups and overall a really relaxed couple of weeks - with some lovely food

Thank you for reading and hope it helps you with some restaurant choices

Just read your whole report while our pork is in the oven roasting and I am starving now. Definitely some different places to try next time. I especially fancy a breakfast at Bob Evans.

Enjoyed that!

May I ask what/where/how the birthday discounts worked? It's my 30th a couple of days before we go and I'm sure I could try to extend it for a couple of weeks if it means saving a few $$$.
