Day 4 – MK/Be Our Guest/Raglan Road
After some cereal in our room today was our 1st Disney park day and it had to be The Magic Kingdom.
Early morning we decided to share a Mickey Cookie from Big Top treats in Fantasyland using a snack credit which was as big as your head! By lunch time we were peckish again which was great as this was our Be Our Guest lunch. This was our 1st visit and we were really impressed with the theming. We had pre-ordered our food which saved faffing around in the line and got a seat in the main ballroom with our rose. Our food arrived almost instantly. We all plumped for the croque monsieur which came with fries. It was nice and hot and very tasty which everyone enjoyed. Drinks were refills from the drink fountain. For dessert we had the masters cupcake with the grey stuff(DW), double chocolate cup cake (DS) and the chocolate cream puff (me). All were scoffed and enjoyed and I was told the grey stuff was indeed delicious... We used 3 CS credits which I considered to be great value for a quick service meal. Suitably stuffed we walked off the lunch in the park before returning to the resort to get ready for Disney Springs for our ADR at Raglan Road at 6.30. This was one we were really looking forward to. After the long bus journey we had a quick drink in the Hole in the Wall next door to Raglan Road where the service was shambolic however we were sat at our table quickly at Raglan Road in a brilliant spot with great views of both stages. DW was delighted due there being Magners on draft! We enjoyed a drink while the Irish band played who were really good before ordering and enjoyed the soda bread and Guinness reduction. After much consideration (by me really!) we went for the Bangers & Booze (me), Schnitzel savvy (DW) and fish & chips (DS). This was the kids portion apparently! All 3 were superb in huge portions and whilst eating we enjoyed the Irish dancers who were great value. Even though we had little room left we ordered desserts. I went for Gers bread pudding. This was without doubt one of the GREATEST puddings I have ever eaten. Every mouthful was heaven on a plate. Despite my best efforts it beat me and I managed about half! DW had the sinful trifle. She thought this was amazing and managed about half as well! DS said he couldn’t manage a pudding, given he was stuffed from the main course. Whilst having dessert I noticed RedRach standing next to us who I recognised from her brilliant trip reports on the DIBB and I said hello. We paid with 3 TS credits and tipped 20% at £34.19 and it was worth every cent. A brilliant night!

Day 5 – AK/Tusker House/Beaches & Cream
We were off to Animal Kingdom today for EMH at 8. We had a couple of runs of Everest before making our way to Harambe for our breakfast ADR at Tusker House at 0915.
We had done this in 2014 and really enjoyed it however this time it all felt pretty rushed and all the characters were rushed through within the 1st 10 minutes before we could even settle. We then tucked into the buffet. The food is pretty good here although Crystal Palace is the better breakfast. Highlights for us were the carved meat and sauce and the bread pudding and of course our 1st Mickey waffles of the holiday (with syrup)! Having done it twice we are not so sure that we would do it again. It was all a bit too rushed and manic this time. We took some photos of the buffet before leaving. DS was a big fan of the tater tots... Love the Mickey waffles and the syrup! Carving station That bread pudding was damn good... We paid 3 TS credits and tipped $16.19. Suitably stuffed we didn’t need much more through the day although DW had a soft ice cream from the Anandapur truck and DS a Mickey Pretzel from the stand near the Safari entrance using snack credits. I was still too full and used a snack credit for a large latte from Starbucks. Tonights ADR was Beaches & Cream. After parking at the Beach Club we found the tiny restaurant and checked in, and waited, and waited, and waited until after pointing out we had been waiting for 45 minutes we were magically seated a bit grumpy and very hungry. Service however was brisk and we were served up an excellent meal. I had the chilli hot dog and fries and DW the tomato bisque and toasted cheese sandwich which we shared and fought over who got the most of the soup and sandwich which was amazing and DS the hot dog which he loved. Even though we didn’t need it we both ordered the fudge mudslide which we asked for with mint choc chip ice cream and DS had a kids mint choc ice cream with Oreos. As you can see we barely made a dent in them! We really liked this little restaurant and the food and service were great as was the theming. Definitely one for next year again. We paid using 3 TS credits and left a tip of $9.60.

Day 6 – Typhoon Lagoon/Roaring Fork/Biergarten
Later start today as today was Typhoon Lagoon. We had some cereal and then shared one TS credit at the Roaring Fork on Mickey Waffles with chocolate and cream which weirdly came with bacon!
After a great morning we arrived back at WL and had lunch in the Roaring Fork. DW and I shared a pepperoni flatbread and northwest chicken sandwich which came with fries and DS had an enormous hot dog (which I’m still not sure how he managed to finish!) We all had cupcakes afterwards which were a bit sickly after all the other food. DS had the standard choc brownie. This was the carrot cake which was really good. We ate half and saved the rest for tomorrow’s breakfast… Over the course of the holiday we used the Roaring Fork several times for meals and snacks and although quite small with a smallish menu the food was always very good and better than the QS in the parks and their was a small toppings bar with an array of condiments. The main ordering area. The counter straight ahead in the photo is where you order food. You were either given a number and someone would bring your hot food to the table next door or you collected at the 'to go' area which is to the right. The drink station and rapid refill is on the left. I found out there was free fresh milk kept in the fridges which are hidden in the upboard under the drink stations about half way through the holiday! The counter in the front right is where all the bakery items were kept which were refreshed for breakfast/lunch and dinner. When you had ordered you took your receipt and loose items to the pay counter and paid there. Condiments Tonights ADR was Biergarten in Epcot which was a bit of a gamble based on the mixed reviews. We were sat quickly and really enjoyed the atmosphere and the entertainment on display which kept everyone happy. I ordered a litre of beer and then tucked into the buffet. I found the food to be a bit average here with the meats being the pick of it. Other than that it was a bit bland and mass produced and the desserts a bit disappointing. Desserts We did enjoy the evening however and this was due to the band I think (and some alcohol!). We used 3 TS credits and left a tip of $37.64 including the litre of lager.

Day 7 – Hollywood Studios/Starring Rolls/Pizza Planet/Garden Grill
After some cereal and the left over muffins we were off to Hollywood Studios.
We had an early lunch which was a share up and swap of CS credits which worked well!I had a ham sandwich from Starring Rolls which DW and I shared along with the packet of crisps (sorry chips!) and I picked my favourite cake, the Napoleon and an orange juice which DS had. The glorious Napoleon... We then went to Pizza Planet via Starbucks for my daily latte using a snack credit and we ordered a pepperoni pizza for DS and DW had the capaccino cupcake she had been salivating over for a while which came as the dessert and had the drink which came with this. Share and share alike! This malarkey cost us 2 CS credits and the snack credit for my latte (and I treated myself to a large one as well as it still cost the same snack credit!). As we were doing Fantasmic tonight we had an early ADR at the Garden Grill at 4.15 which was a late choice for us and one we hadn’t originally considered. Thank god we did as this was the best overall meal experience of the holiday. We were quickly seated in our preferred table in a booth overlooking the Living with the Land ride and served our drinks by our server Jiselle who was good fun and lovely bread with maple syrup butter. Then the salad arrived... This was lovely and fresh from the Land and then the family style platter arrived... This had turkey with stuffing and beef with gravy and mash. There was also fish which was a little flavourless and then killed completely by the tomato sauce however this was the only disappointment. The table was a mess by this point given there were also vegetables, mac cheese and sweet potato fries! Armegeddon on a table! During this we were continually visited by Mickey, Pluto and best of all Chip n Dale who quickly became my sons heroes. They spent time at the table, posing for photos, joking around together with my son and with each other and all the characters came back to the table 3 times. This was the best character interaction I’ve seen yet. The meal was finished with further fresh hot meat and bread which we barely touched and then a fruit cobbler for dessert which was really good. DS was brought the kids dessert. At the same time as this Jiselle, our server arrived with a lovely chocolate cake with candles delivered by Chip which was a lovely surprise for my birthday (which was still a few days away…oops!) and DS decided he fancied that himself! A great meal all round. We would definitely do this one again. We paid using 3 TS credits and tipped the full 20% of $22.67.

Loving your food report.
I see you like your desserts I'm not a lover of anything sweet... I don't even like chocolate (I know I'm abnormal) But I DO love Ger's bread & butter pudding at Raglan Road. Great to know Garden Grill was brill... We will be there in 30 days Kim |

Day 8 – Contempo Café/Ohana
Breakfast again was cereal (we are creatures of habit!) however that kept us going until an early lunch at the Contempo Café at the Contemporary Resort as this was a rest day for us around our resort.
I had the blackened chicken flatbread, DW the hot turkey sandwich and DS the pepperoni flatbread. All were good. Pick of the bunch was definitely the chicken flatbread. Service here was quick and stress free. We all plumped for cupcakes for dessert (Boston cream for me, Choc cream cake (blue) for DW and dirt & worms cake for DS). These kind of finished us for cupcakes for the trip I’m afraid! Too much frosting and a bit too sickly after the big meal and we didn’t finish them. We took our juice as bottles of OJ to save for breakfasts and used our refill mugs here. Contempo food was good, fresh and tasty and a nice way to visit and have a look around this resort. We used 3 CS credits. Dinner tonight was Ohana which was a difficult ADR to get. It seems to get mixed reviews these days and divide opinion a bit and we discovered why. I thought it was a nice looking restaurant and our table had nice views of MK and it was a nice atmosphere in a lovely resort, however the service was a bit erratic. The bread was fine, as was the salad, however the wings/pot stickers were average given neither of us is a fan of wings (too much hassle to eat for very little meat!). The noodles and veg then arrived, which were nice but by the time the meat skewers arrived, they were all cold. I then bit into my first piece of chicken which was a grissly undercooked piece and was almost instantly put off. DS’s chicken however from the skewer was lovely and a nice piece of perfectly cooked meat. The steak then arrived which was a bit underdone for our taste but a nice flavour. Neither of us fancied the shrimp, so gave it a miss. The dessert of course is the famous bread pudding with banana Fosters sauce which was lovely although not as good as Raglan Road’s. DS didn't fancy it and had a brownie (shock horror!) and ice cream. All in all we were glad we tried Ohana but were not blown away by it and would probably give it a miss next time.I can see why people really rave about it and it is so popular and with decent cuts of meat, cooked to our taste, it may have rated higher however that's just my opinion. Service was OK. We paid using 3 TS credits and tip was $21.59.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one who didn't enjoy cinnabon. It was something I had been looking forward to for ages as well.
Great report so far.
