Previous Update : The Plan So Far

Hello Again

Time for an update, Disney free dining went on offer last week and I was itching to book.

I've not updated until now as we had a very busy week with both children having their birthdays last week and a weekend of parties and celebrations, can't believe my eldest is now in double figures

Here is a picture of Zach on a climbing wall at his party and Imogen outside Build a Bear. An action packed, tiring but fun weekend.

Right back to Disney...

So I woke up on Thursday 21st and checked the Dibb (as you do) to find the prices were all out there, woohoo. Anyway I had 2 kids to get ready for breakfast club and then get myself to work so any further detail would need to wait until later.

Once I had some time I was on the Disney website checking all the prices and updating my spreadsheet, happily the price of OKW was in the range I was expecting after estimating from Kenwood Travel

New for this year was the rumoured 'preregister' rather than 'book now' for OKW and SSR, you had to call Disey to book and couldn't do it online. Booking would have to wait, all indications were that the lines were jammed anyway so I spent the rest of the day mulling over my options and of course working , 10 or 11 nights was the main question. I would just had to wait patiently.

It got to about 7.20pm, all family members were fed and watered, baths were being run and children readying for bed so I decided to get in the phone queue for Disney and see if I could get through. Being on hold was actually quite nice.

Just before 8pm I was picked up by a lovely lady and we preceded to make my booking. Once all the details were booked she said something along the lines of 'you're all booked for Disney World' and then I was properly excited.

So I've booked 10 nights in a 1 bedroom apartment at Old Key West from 20th May 2017. This is a preregistration but I have no concerns and neither did the booking agent. I do have some backup plans but I'll not lie, it'll be disappointing if we do lose our first choice. I also booked 21 night tickets to give us the flexibility to revisit the last few days of our trip when we stay at Universal, just in case (so British LOL!)

So far this means I've got Flights booked and Disney booked. Next will be Anna Maria Island and Universal. I have a couple of front runners for AMI but no firm decision made yet, I'm also monitoring RPR on many, many hotel booking sites and will keep my eyes peeled on The Dibb for any bargain finds.

We are off in our caravan this weekend over to Yorkshire to watch the Tour De Yorkshire. Hopefully we'll catch Day 2 on Saturday and Day 3 on Sunday although Sunday depends on the weather which is a bit crazy at the moment. Can't wait for a relaxing weekend of wine and BBQs after last weekends non stop shenanigans!

Thanks for reading. I'll be back with an update and a To Do list soon

I didn't realise you hadn't been to WDW yet. We were meant to be going to DLP in 2017 but Florida called us back. We were meant to be going back as a budget trip, that has gone out of the window too lol

You will love it

Aww, thanks for reading. You never know, there are 3 members of my team at work planning a trip during the same period which I think is a bit mad and I keep wondering if we'll cross paths.

Previous Update : Disney Booking

Hello again everyone

A little update from us and a to do list (which I'm sure will grow as the weeks pass but I like to cross things off as a sense of achievement!)

We are just back from a weeks holiday to Majorca to celebrate my cousin's wedding, its was a real family affair and we all had a great time with lots of fantastic memories to look back on. We stayed in Cala D'or and flew with Easyjet, our apartments were great and just what we like (Cala D'or Playa for anyone interested). We ate some great food including a huge tapas meal one night, we like to stay self catering so we can get out and about in the evenings. The wedding day was lovely at the yacht club and for the bride and groom it was perfect, a couple of family shots,

So we had the reception in Manchester last night and we are all a bit tired today and haven't really done much, we are all back to normality tomorrow, I'm sure the house will right itself over the week to come

So onto Disney. No new bookings to mention yet (busy with Majorca ) but I'm still monitoring RPR regularly and keeping an eye on the forum for any deals that people might find. We are getting closer to confirmation of our OKW booking now and I think I've decided to add a night so it'll be 11 nights at Disney, 5 at AMI and 3 at Universal. I also need to sort out DH name as its spelt wrong and check that they have our first visit and DHs 40th birthday recorded.

I have found and become a little obsessed with Touring Plans! I've got a (not so) little multicoloured spreadsheet populated with busy days and using predicted park hours and I'm using Touring Plans to get an idea of rides and how the parks are laid out plus walking times to get around. I think we will probably use plans as a basis for each park, I'm setting the pace to relaxed every time and am really building my own plans to move around in a sensible way as I don't want us jumping all over the show but using the evaluate tool to get an idea of wait times etc is really useful and will help with FP planning I imagine. I'm also finding it useful to work out how many visits we need at each park to build an early plan for our days. Lots of fun

In this update I wanted to start my To Do list so here goes,

TO DO LIST
Book Car Hire
Book Anna Maria Island Accomodation
Book Universal Hotel
Renew DHs passport
Apply for all our ESTA's
Travel Insurance
Car Parking at Manchester Airport (Maybe Hotel)
Possibly Lounge Access at Manchester Airport
Kennedy Space Centre Booking
Air Boat Booking
Plan ADR's

Plan FP+
Book FP+
Headphones for Plane
Wishes Cruise?
Book cattery for Lulu
Sort out gadgets with 'Just in Case' entertainment

Spending Money Method?
Laminate all Plans

Thanks for reading my update, I'm hoping to start ticking things off very soon.

Next Update : Catch Up and New Bookings
