Who needs sleep anyway?! March 2016 Honeymoon. Day 16 Magic Kingdom & Narcoossee's
Day 16 Magic Kingdom & Narcoossee's
Previous day is here Welcome to our trip report. I'm Emily & my Husband is Gary - we got married on 5 March 2016 & spent our honeymoon in NYC, Washington DC & Orlando. Our pre-trip report is here if you want to have a look at our plans. Tuesday 22nd March We had a lie in today after our mega early starts at Universal over the last 2 days! it was great to snooze . We got up about 10. It was a bit warmer than yesterday today, although still cooler than the previous week. I sat down with a pop tart by the pool and noticed the news about Brussels . We turned the TV on and watched the news for a bit. We lazed around and sat outside by the pool, sorting some washing and I read my kindle for a bit. I remembered to take a picture of the front of our villa when we left today! We left the villa just after 2pm and went to get some gas. We had noooooo idea what we were doing ! We went to a 7 eleven and Gary took $50 in and was told to go to pump 1 to fill up. Out he got and a few minutes later he walked back in to the store. I thought there was something wrong, but nope, he came back with $21 & some cents change . We filled the tank for $28! A 5 litre engine for $28 . Crazy compared to what it would cost here . We went to Denny's for a late lunch as our ADR at Narcoosee wasn't until 7.45. Gary ordered the Cali Club Sandwich and I ordered Build your own Slam Breakfast with sausage, eggs, hash browns and pancakes! We enjoyed this but decided we preferred IHOP. We paid the bill and headed to Magic Kingdom for some Fastpasses before dinner. We pulled in to MK car park at 3.30 and parked in Zurg 107. We joined the queue for Tinkerbell as it only said 15 minutes and we were still early for our Mickey FP anyway. We waited about 25 minutes but she was lovely, she said she was holding her breath during the picture as she feared Gary would smell like codfish ! Then we went to meet Mickey the Magician . His set is brilliant! The CM said she'd put my bag in Mickeys closet for me and then mickey asked us what pose he thought he should do for his new poster. We picked one and then he made us do it! It's brilliant how he talks to you, I knew he did but I was still so amazed. I cannot wait to take a child and not tell them he’s going to talk! We wandered up Main Street getting lots of photo pass pictures. Then we joined what looked like a very long queue for Merida but it wasn't too bad. She picked up on our accents straight away and asked why we’d bothered coming all that way, when we could have just visited her at home ! Her 'Scottish' accent was, uhm, interesting :rem:. Top points for trying though! It was nice just wandering around and doing what we wanted to, without rushing around and trying to fit everything in . After a quick restroom break, we walked over to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train for our FP. The standby queue was 140 mins ! I don't think I'd ever queue for anything this long. We were on within a few minutes, in the front row. I’ve read that the back is best but we loved it! I even had one hand up, which might not seem like a big deal but it was a big thing for me, it's never happened before! I’m usually holding on for dear life! We were wondering how to get the ride photo and I thought I'd read about it being automatic. So I googled and it was . We got some frozen lemonades and a Sprite to enjoy while we wandered a bit more. We sat on the tables just past Peter Pan to enjoy them and wait on our FP opening up at 6.10. I caught up on these notes and we people watched. We enjoyed Peter Pan, then went to the rest room one last time and said goodbye to MK . We'd already agreed this would be our last MK trip, we had some FPs booked for Thursday but we felt we'd done all we wanted to and time was running out! It was a lovely relaxing night, meeting some characters and finally riding the mine train . On the way out, Gary said shall we try the little boat get to the GF? Turns out we had no choice as the monorail was down! Boat it was. We joined a bit of a queue but we weren't in a rush anyway. There were 4 boats running and they were coming in quite quickly. We waited about 20 minutes in the end but still checked into Narcoosee 20 minutes early at 19.25. We were seated within a few minutes. I ordered a Blue Glowtini, this was so good! The bread came out to start. We didn’t order an appetiser, I never do at home and even Gary had realised by now there would be plenty of food without one! I ordered the chicken and Gary ordered steak with the lobster add on. Pan-roasted Joyce Farms Chicken Breast Fregola Sarda Pasta Sofrito, Chicken-Pistachio Sausage, Baby Beets, Baby Carrots, Cipollini Onion, and Gala Apple Butter Grass Fed Filet Mignon or Black Angus New York Strip Steak Boniato Potato Mash and Delta Asparagus with Red Wine-Oxtail Reduction with Butter-poached or Steamed Maine Lobster Tail Then I had a Magical Star Cocktail, yum ! This was a delicious meal. We finished and our lovely server brought out a congratulations dessert for our honeymoon. We ordered tea & coffee, deciding we couldn't manage a full dessert. We were finished in perfect time to go out on the deck and watch Wishes, taking the rest of our tea and coffee. This was by far the most expensive meal of our trip, but we had a lovely night . The bill came to $160.58, we left $190. We wandered through the GF lobby, admiring the beautiful painted Easter Eggs on display. There were amazing, especially considering they were edible! Luckily our stuffed bellies kept us from eating them . We got the monorail back to the T&T centre, got straight on a tram and we were back at the car for 9.45. I was wishing I'd brought a cardigan with me, it was getting chilly again!

Love the Easter egg photos too, the fox and the hound one is my favourite (I always wish there's more Fox and the Hound related things when we are there!) |
