Triple Treat Tour July 2016 Day 11 Get Your Knits Out, yes more Shopping, Carbs and Cocktails

The day before is HERE

Wednesday 13 July

The plan said today was SeaWorld

But we are up early tomorrow for Discovery Cove and no one seemed thrilled at the prospect of two early starts in a row

So last night we decided to switch today to DisneyQuest for the boys and of course shopping for us

It was such a bonus that DisneyQuest was still open – they love it in there and with its even more reduced opening hours we didn’t need to be there until lunchtime

The morning was lovely and leisurely with another dip in the pool and watching daytime tv

Pretty similar to yesterday’s pool action

We set off at 1045 to the nearest Perkins

There was a large queue and after a party of 12 and then another group of 21 were seated before us, we decided to cut our losses as we did want to eat this side of midnight and headed up to the Perkins further along W Irlo Bronson Highway.

We were seated straightaway

The food took 30 minutes to come out. There seemed to be fewer waiting staff and it was a noticeably longer wait to eat.

Anyhoo, the tray of happiness arrived

I had the lemon blueberry pie pancake platter

Only on holiday could ketchup eventually appear on the same plate as whipped cream !

Andy had the heartymans combo

Yes, carb coma time ...

The boys all chose chicken strip melt.

They said the fries weren't very warm

incredibly good value at $76 and we left a $15 tip.

Still a firm fave for brekky. Love their coffee. Had a super server .

Waddled out feeling completely stuffed . Oops

We headed out at 1230 to DisneyQuest

Who put those cones there !

Seriously who takes pics of buses on holiday ?

We drop the boys off after getting their tickets - $144 for three

And arrange to meet them between 5 and 5.30

We then set off for the outlets at Vineland Road

It was busy but after some surreptitious shopper stalking we bagged a spot in the shade within 5 minutes and set off

Random pic – hardly there for the scenery are we ?

I got some fab bargains in Armani exchange – if you have not looked on their clearance rail at the back of the store – do !

I got some superb knitwear

omg , listen to me I sound so middle aged

Wool scarf for me for my horrid commute in the winter $15

Scarf and neckwarmer ( children of the 80s we called them snoods !) $23 a pair

I bought a set in blue and a set in grey as Xmas presents for my friends who go dogwalking. Now they can freeze in style !

Silk Scarf $11

To go with this jumper $28

And finally this black jumper which has a fancy swing design at the back $14

The “RRP” of all these was $670 according to the labels

I paid $115 inc tax.

Go Me !

Andy bought some jeans in Levis on their buy one get one 50% offer so I think that was $80 for two pairs.

No pics – they are just jeans !

No shopping trip is complete without the Tommy Hilfiger Clearance Store so we popped over there conscious of time now as it was nearing 4.30

More bargains were had

I got me more knitwear

This was $19

Bit blurry but you get the idea

These were bargain of the trip

Woollen jogging/lounge bottoms $5 – yes $5 , for goodness sake

So naturally I needed some tops to go with them

This one for $25

And this one, also $25

This jumper for $10

And this cashmere cardi for $15

Around $120 . I am going to be super toastie this winter

Just as we set foot outside the rainstorm started

It looked like this most of the way back to Disney Springs

But happily stopped when we arrived.

We met the boys and had a brief wander but no one was really that keen on the stores and it looked like the rain was about to return so we headed off to House of Blues

We came here as we had the Voucher for $50 off $100 .

Our fave place Fultons is no more. Big sobs.

I am not sure this was the best choice in hindsight

I think we were all still a bit full from our Perkins breakfast.

We were seated right away and I ordered the raspberry mule ... Very nice!

Nick had build your own bacon cheeseburger.

Yes he's had one every day ..

Connor also had the same burger. They were declared " ok"

I had the fried chicken with smashed potatoes and seasonal veg and cinnamon butter. I definitely had the best meal. It was delicious.

Jamie had plain hot dogs

Andy had lobster mac'n'cheese . Definitely more mac and cheese than lobster. Disappointing. Good job I could only manage one piece of chicken so he could eat the rest !

No one made any use of the hot sauces ..

I ordered the triple choc cheesecake to go

And the bill

$144 and then $93 after the voucher. Felt a bit pricey and we wouldn't rush back.

Server was good , we left a $20 tip based on the revised bill ...

There was some running around on the grass after dinner due to some rare pokemon, it was quite funny to suddenly see quite a crowd appearing and all darting around

Nick and Jamie were successful

Connors phone was very slow and even his rather random technique of throwing it up in the air in the vain hope it might speed up (! ) didn’t work

He wasn’t very amused at being possibly the only person in Disney Springs who didn’t catch whatever the darn critter was !

We headed back for an early night so we could be away by 8 for Discovery Cove tomorrow

And to look at our super shopping haul

Its starting to look good in the wardrobe

Who put those trainers in there !

Me, purchase another pair of trainers, surely not.

Well, Andy is slacking on the footwear front so far so I am having to keep up tradition

They were stupid cheap at $25. Rude not to at that price

The next day is HERE

We too visited House of Blues too full and it was such a mistake! We'll have to go back sometime, the fried chicken looks awesome. I'm also pleased that DisneyQuest lives on, although I'm not sure we'll make it there this year.

The chicken was nice , I think the mash and butter made it . The teens loved DQ. They were so pleased it was still open.

Hope you had a spare case for all of your shopping - lol
My DD loved DQ when we last went a few years ago, but we didn't have time to fit it in this time.
Shame HoB wasn't that great

The shopping is well and truly picking up now. Good move parking the teens in Disney Quest.

Shame about your meal at House of Blues but the cocktail hopefully made up for it. The cheesecake looked yum too x

Aha we only went out with two cases so we could buy two for the return trip . The teens will miss DQ , they have enjoyed it on all our previous visits.

We were lucky with the rain this time, it didn't stop us doing anything and it was just torrential sometime !

It's so nice that they are old enough for us to leave them and they much prefer DQ to shopping !

It was a nice cocktail at HOB , quite odd drinking out of a tin mug too !
