A Whole New World, July 2016!~8. Back to the Magic.

INDEX

Sunday 10th July 2016

I woke at 9am after an amazing sleep the bed was so comfy!
Nigel was already in the lounge watching the F1. I started putting together a bit of breakfast of toast, cereal bars and Lucky Charms.
Liam appeared 5mins later and we went outside to enjoy our breakfast by the pool... this is the life!

Staright from bed to the pool...

Today we were going to the Magic Kingdom but not until 3pm so we had time to chill. I loved the privacy of our own pool it was just a lovely, we spent our time listening to music, reading, sunbathing and swimming. I think this is when I really felt like we were on holiday, I was so relaxed.

No chance of Liam sinking ha!

We let Joseph sleep until 11 o'clock, he's not an early bird (what teenager is?).
We ate a few snacks of Cheetos, chocolate and ice-cream... Slimming World belongs at home!
At about 1pm we all started getting showered/changed.

We were driving to Disney for the 1st time and I had already put all our destinations into the Satnav before we left home to make it easier.
Yeah, easier my eye!
It took us to some back entrance and we had to stop and ask a CM for directions. She was quiet short with us, she probably gets people going the wrong way hehe!
We drive past the signs for the Grand Floridian and the Poly and then we saw the sign for Magic Kingdom, but we seemed to bypass the parking payment booths so we stopped to tell a CM what happened and he said, Don't worry it can be your lucky day! Woohoo pixie dust.

As soon as we stepped foot out of the car it started raining. This was our 1st experience of Florida rain and it was a corker. We quickly got on our ponchos we'd bought from Target and made a run for it. By the time we arrived on Main St it wasn't taking time to come down, I loved it. Liam got a bit scared because we could see the fork lightening and the thunder was so loud, it really does have to be seen to be believed!

seperated at birth?

We ducked into Caseys Corner for some shelter and food.
We got some hotdogs, chips and a portion of corndog nuggets. The hotdogs went down well but we weren't a fan of the nuggets.

The rain was beginning to ease off now so we skipped over to Tomorrow Land and went on Monster Laugh Floor it was a walk on and we all really enjoyed it, although I was glad I wasn't picked as I'm really too shy for that kind of thing. Fair play to the guy a few rows in front of us he was up dancing and everything!

The park was pretty quiet now as we walked over to Adventure Land for our FP on Jungle Cruise. I just love the themeing of this part of the park, it's so well done.

Anyway Jungle cruise had been down because of the weather and was just reopening when we got to it and had a bit of a queue but we walked straight on with our FP. Our guide was called Sean and he was just brilliant, I can see how getting a rubbish guide could ruin the whole thing so we were very lucky!

The kids loved it and Sean was so funny.

Next we had a FP for Splash Mountain but had a bit of time to kill before our slot opened. Nigel said he would meet us over there as he wanted to go to the smoking area. The boys and I decided to kill some time getting a few treats,
I got a Dole Whip which was so nice and refreshing, Liam got a Mickey ice-cream sandwich and Joseph got some Popcorn. We happily ate our treats while walking over to Splash Mountain were we met Nigel.

A few from the smoking area...

As soon as our FP opened we were straight on, this has to be our favourite ride in Magic Kingdom we just love it so much.
Again when we came off we had time to kill before our next FP which was Big Thunder Mountain, so rather than walking to another area we decided we'd kill time by getting the train and doing a full lap of the park.

Bye

Hello!

I'm so glad we done this and if anyone reading this hasn't then please do it's fantastic. You really get to see the park in all its glory and you pass through Splash Mountain at the end which we all loved.

We hopped off the train at Frontier Land just in time for our FP starting for BTM, another family fav!

I then went straight on the App and secured another FP for Tomorrow Land Speedway, but before going over we decided to check out the pirate maps. These are interactive and the boys really enjoyed them but we only done a few as it was so warm!

It's this way

Over at Tomorrow Land Joseph got really excited about driving and loved the noise and the smell off gas (I'm not looking forward to his rebellious stage)!

We all liked it but it was a bit jerky and trying to steer the thing was impossible, Joseph thought it was brilliant.

Back on the App I managed to get another FP for Buzz so we had a little boogie with these guys along the way.

We were all starting to flag now and decided to have a reat and a bite to eat, Rays Starlight Cafe was close by so we went there. We got a pulled pork sandwich, some nuggets and fries and a couple of cokes. I also got a smores thing that was really dry and not worth the calories. Boo!

The castle was so pretty all lit up...

We walked down Main St and Liam got a Light up balloon we were close to the theatre and the Mickey meet was a walk on, probably because the fire works were going to begin and everyone had got their viewing spot secured. Anyway we walked straight into meet Mickey and he was the talking one...yipee!
Liam was amazed by him and started doing his best Mickey Mouse impression haha!

When we'd finished up we stood by the exit to Magic Kingdom and watched the Fireworks, they were just stunning and we and a great view. Once they were over we made a run for the car park tram before the crowds descended!
Whilst we stood waiting for the next tram to arrive a couple and their little boy who was about 2yrs old came and OMG he was screaming. That wee boy screamed the whole way to the car park, I could still hear him as we were driving off. Tired babies and Disney is not a good combo haha.

We stopped off to fill the car with gas on the way home ($20! ) and were pulling up outside the villa by 11:15pm totally knackered but it was a great day from start to finish x

Up next~ Beaches & Cream/Epcot

Thanks for the tip about getting ponchos at the supermarket, I will keep an eye out for them next year (to use on Kali River Rapids haha).
