Some tasty looking dishes. Not very good about the chicken.
Thanks for posting

I really loved the porterhouse at the Yachtsman's as well. Definitely agree that it's not as big as you think it's going to be though!

Just caught up with this! Am loving it!
Your Dad sounds exactly like mine. He always wants "just ice cream" for dessert. He and my Mum went on a cruise with amazing dessert options every night and he still had "just ice cream" every single night, bless him.

Does anybody know if the Darth Vader cupcake is available year round? I'm sure I read on a food report once that it's only available at certain times of the year. I know my nephew would love one of these!

Not sure why it would be as it's not a seasonal theme. Last trip it was only a Halloween themed cupcake available so I'd think Darth Vader and BB-8 would be all year.
Thanks for the great comments everyone. I've been busy at work and am in Ireland visiting my nieces just now but hoping to get at least another couple of days done later in the week. |

Day 10 - DS and MK
Today was my birthday and I had originally thought about doing a morning in AK before an afternoon and evening at MK with dinner at LTT. AS it got closer I changed my mind and decided we should have a lazy start to the day and then go to DS for breakfast at Wolfgang Pucks Express to use up some QS credits.
Me and Marie decided to share the Breakfast Pizza - scrambled eggs, bacon, mozzarella, cheddar and onion and the Classic Breakfast - scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage(we chose bacon), crispy potatoes and wholegrain or sourdough toast (we chose sourdough). The breakfast pizza was great and I enjoyed it much more than the classic breakfast which was just ok. As usual though it was too much and a pizza between us would have been plenty. Dad also got the classic breakfast and Mum got the Cornflake French Toast. She really enjoyed it but the cornflakes tend to fall off. As expected it was too much for her! Marie and I both had coffee which was awful. Apparently the tea was too. This should have cost $65.82 but cost 4 QS credits. As we’d had a large breakfast we didn’t have lunch and just had some left over Lard Lad donut before heading out to MK. While there we fancied a drink and something nice. Dad wanted some ice cream so I suggested Auntie Gravities as I knew they did sundaes and the like. I had a strawberry and banana smoothie. I’ve had this a few times before and it always hits the spot. Marie had a strawberry sundae. Mum had a chocolate sundae. Dad had plain vanilla ice cream. No picture as Dad had ate most of it by the time I'd taken the other photos! I don’t have a cost for this but it was 4 snack credits plus we used a 5th to get a bottle of Sprite for Mum, Dad and Marie to share. We found a table near the Tomorrowland Speedway which was not the best option given the noise and smell. Dinner was Liberty Tree Tavern. This is an old favourite of ours and we do it every trip, usually on my birthday. We arrived at 5.50pm for a 5.55pm ADR. As usual the reception area was crowded and noisy (the only negative of LTT for me) and it was difficult to hear the CM shouting names. Our surname is difficult to pronounce which doesn’t help. After around 15 minutes though we were called and manged to figure out it was us! They have new crockery here so I took a picture! This is somewhere that does the pomegranate lemonade so unsurprisingly that’s what I got! Here’s another picture! Dinner here is a set menu served family style. We were brought some soft rolls with honey butter which were nice. Mum didn’t like the butter though. Next it’s a bowl of salad which used to come with a strawberry vinaigrette but this has been changed to a honey one. It was nice but I preferred the previous one. The main course is turkey, ham, pot roast (previously roast beef), mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, gravy and macaroni cheese. You can ask for more of any of it. I was worried I wouldn’t enjoy the pot roast as much as the roast beef but it was lovely. We had to ask for more mash as we didn’t get a huge amount plus we got more turkey. Dessert was a Johnny Appleseed Tart with vanilla ice cream. This was nice but we were stuffed and didn’t manage much. I was also brought a birthday cupcake which was a bit of a poor effort compared to previous ones I've had. The icing was just a thin coating of "chocolate" and the cake itself wasn't great. I ate a bit but wished he hadn't bothered. As usual the food at LTT didn’t disappoint and Dad declared it his favourite meal of the holiday. I think he was glad to get a roast dinner. Our server was just ok and we felt we waited a while for our initial drinks and salad. We also had to ask for refills of drinks which I find are usually pre-empted at Disney. It wasn’t enough to affect our enjoyment though and it’ll be on the list again next year. This would have cost $140 but cost us 4 TS credits and a $25 cash tip. |
