Day 8

McDonald’s Kissimmee

Sausage McMuffin with Egg meal - $4.69

Me and Kevin both had the same, except he had a coke to drink and I chose a caramel iced coffee.

Day 8

Epcot

Club Cool

So Epcot was our park choice for the day, we had a few fast passes booked but had some time to kill first. Therefore I decided we should go in to club cool so Kevin can try Beverly…

My favourites were the Melon Frosty Fanta from Thailand & Kuat from Brazil:

I also had to try Beverly again, just to confirm how much I disliked it. Yup still hated it, obviously I didn’t tell Kevin that and told him he MUST try it…

Don't think he liked it... , I wonder why?

Food & Wine Festival

After doing our fast passes me and Kevin decided to make our way round to World Showcase to do the Food & Wine Festival. Something I’ve wanted to do for ageees.

At first we were choosing the same dishes, but as we began to feel a little full we started to share them.

First up…

Greece – Chicken Gyro $4.50
“Chicken Gyro with Tzatziki Sauce”

This was really good and “light” tasting. I didn’t feel too full after eating this, still not quite as good as a real Gyro from Greece, but I really enjoyed it and the meat was juicy and not dry which I had expected.

Canada – Le Cellier Filet Mignon $7.75
“Wild Mushroom Beef Filet Mignon with a Truffle-Butter Sauce”

OMG this was so good, for something that they make in batch to serve at the F&W stalls it was a juicy amazing piece of meat, so much so that Le Cellier is already on my “must do” list when we do the DDP in 2018.

France – La Passion Martini Slush $9ish
“Vodka, Grey Goose Le Citron Vodka, Cranberry and Passion Fruit Juice”

OMG Yum, these were so so good. So refreshing too, it was really warm today so this went down very easily. I told myself I would go back and get one later, but I never did .

Morocco – Spicy Hummus Fries $4.50
“Spicy Hummus Fries with Cucumber, Tomato, Onions and Tzatziki Sauce”

These were probably my least favourite dish, there wasn’t much flavour they were ok but I probably wouldn’t get them again.

Japan – Tokyo Sunrise $9ish

Not a F&W stall, but still this was a yummy refreshing drink that I enjoyed drinking in the sunshine

Germany – Karamell Kuche

Again this isn’t a F&W feature, but I love the look of all the goodies in here. I probably chose the wrong day to come here, feeling slightly full from all the food I’d been sampling I wasn’t too adventurous with my choice and I did want to take something back to the villa in case it melted as we walked around.

Caramel Covered Chocolate Strawberry $5

Food & Wine Festival Continued...

Africa – Buttered Chicken $4/5ish
“Buttered Chicken with Micro Cilantro and Naan Bread”

We were feeling a bit full by this point, so we decided to share this. This was a good dish, I think some of the others we had tried were better, but I did enjoy this.

Hawaii – Kalua Pork Sliders $4/5ish
“Kalua Pork Slider with sweet and sour Dole Pineapple Chutney and spicy mayonnaise”

This was better than I expected, I thought it would be good. But this was amazing and so flavoursome I really liked the sweet and spicy mix and thought the sweet chutney and spicy mayonnaise worked very well together.

New Zealand – Lamb Meatball $4.50
“Lamb Meatball with Spicy Tomato Chutney” this was served in a Yorkshire pudding”

This was amazing, I loved this and really wish we got 1 each rather than share it. I loved the addition of the Yorkshire pudding.

Chocolate Studio

We both fancied different things here, so we got two dishes and shared them between us.

Chocolate Almond Truffle
“Liquid Nitro Chocolate-Almond Truffle with Warm Whiskey- Caramel”

OMG, this was delicious. The liquid Nitro Chocolate had like an ice cream texture and taste, it was so good. Kevin had serious food envy and we both preferred this to his choice.

Chocolate Tarte
“Ghirardelli Chocolate Raspberry Torte”

This was really good, I never normally choose these types of desserts. As much as I love chocolate, I always find tortes too rich and this was no exception. It was extremely rich but this addition of the sharp tasting raspberry did help, it was a lovely dish but mine was the better choice.

Day 8

Disney Springs

We went to Disney Springs for the evening to do some shopping, everyone had different plans so we decided to leave the group for the evening.

D-Luxe Burger

Me and Kevin decided to eat in D-luxe burger, the queue was really long and out of the door but it was moving fast. I think we waited for about 10/15 minutes, but we also assumed as it was a Friday evening most places at DS would be busy.

El Diablo Burger - $10.99
“Chorizo-and-Signature Blend Patty, Fried Banana Peppers, Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, and Chipotle Mayonnaise”.

This was my choice.

Barbecue Classic Burger - $11.99
“Signature Blend topped with a Fried Onion Ring, Smoked Gouda, Bacon, Barbeque Sauce, and Lettuce”.

This was Kevin’s choice, we also shared a portion of fries for $4.99.

We both enjoyed our food here, the burgers are really good. The fries were really salty though and neither of us ate many, I would go back again but only order a burger. I loved all the different dipping sauces that were available, I was dipping my burger in them, I struggled to find a favourite and kept switching between them all.

Oooh they look lovely.
Will keep D-Luxe Burger in mind for next year - good for a cheaper eat while in disney springs.
