Just popped into town, went into Debenhams and ... PAID THE BALANCE OFF ON THE HOLIDAY!

This time last year I was phoning up Virgin's less than helpful overseas call centre and cancelling our holiday

Today I am doing a dance that looks something like this...

OMG WE ARE ACTUALLY GOING ON HOLIDAY!

Decided to treat myself to a new camera as I've only got one on my phone at the moment, which takes pretty good pictures outside but is a bit rubbish indoors!

Settled on this waterproof badboy by Sony:

Next on my list: Order Disney tickets!

Well, it's been a busy weekend of spending for me! Ordered our Disney tickets from Orlando Attractions. We don't need the full 14 days as we're only planning on spending about 5 days in Disney, so decided on 7 day base tickets. The 7 day ones were the same price as the 4,5 and 6 day ones so it seemed a bit mad not to get the extra days for the flexibility!

I've been umming and ahhing over footwear. Still interested in the Sketchers I posted the other day, but I have loads of trainers, including a really comfy pair of Nikes with vented sides. I saw these sandals online and I popped into our local Tesco-at-home store.

They were on offer and had them in my size, so picked them up for £12! Bargain! Planning on wearing them in, and if they are not comfortable then I'll maybe go for a slightly more expensive pair from Soul Survivor at Next? These were a suggestion on theDibb - so thank you whoever mentioned them

Lastly, after starting a thread a few hours ago and getting the ever-useful expert opinions of Dibbers, I booked our internal flights down to Orlando after our 'mini-break' in Washington DC

The flights have been bobbing up and down in price on Kayak and Skyscanner, but I couldn't wait any longer and booked them at £88 each today! I *might* have got them slightly cheaper if I'd waited, but I don't think that's too bad for a nearly three hour flight. We'll be arriving at Orlando International at 12.15pm - just got to book the transfers to the RPR now.

Thanks - I'm really looking forward to Washington DC now as well, now I've done a bit of research

I'm sure Phil will give me enough information about Gettysburg when I get there!

In all seriousness it'll be a new experience, and always great to go somewhere I've not been before x

Some Dibbers might have read my thread on waiting for the delivery of my camera from Amazon. Well, after much too-ing and fro-ing, it has finally arrived and I am LOVING it! Can't wait for my sisters hen night next night month (and her wedding a week before we go to Florida) to try it out properly!

As well as ordering the camera, I have ordered our Disney tickets and they arrived this week, courtesy of Orlando Attraction tickets. Great service, and as we only wanted 5 days we went for Base tickets. They were offering 7 days for the price of 5, so we have a few days flexibility.

Came in a very handy wallet which I think I will keep them in when we are out and about. We got our Universal tickets as a Christmas present already, so now I think we are all sorted for tickets

I'm sure a few people would have read my thread regarding the car accident I had last year, and finally I have had the settlement. Treated myself to a Nexus 7 - I've wanted a tablet for a long time but couldn't justify it with saving for the holiday. Thinking it will be perfect for the flight between Washington DC and Orlando with US Airways as there is no IFE :o

Also treated myself to a pair of noise cancelling headphones and a few little accessories, including a mini USB to USB lead, an SD card reader and a case with a bluetooth keyboard. Hoping I can make a few trip notes when I have a chance, and I've found a way to back up my photos from my new camera onto the Nexus. This means that if my camera gets stolen, or lost, or stops working, if I have backed up my photos every day onto the Nexus I wont have lost them all.

Plus it means they are all ready to upload when I get home, and put endless photos on Facebook, of course!

Fab pre-trippie. I feel exactly the same about AK, I'm sure we missed loads too, so going to make up for it next time. Are you not doing DHS?

Oooh yes, forgot about that one! Definitely got to go on Rock N Rollercoaster, and OH is a big Star Wars fan so we'll be going on that too. I'm pretty sure our trip on Tower of Terror in the 90s sparked my fear of lifts, so that's a 'maybe' at the moment!

We'll be doing all of the Disney parks at least once, with the option to either return to our favourite one or go to Busch Gardens on our final day. I've planned an afternoon and a whole day in Epcot. Was planning on doing World Showcase in the afternoon session and the rest of the park during the whole day. We've got an ADR booked at Yachtsman Steakhouse on that day too, so plan is early dinner then back to watch the fireworks. The only thing not in our plan is the water parks.

I'd love a day at Typhoon Lagoon and keep umming and aaahing about it, but don't think we'll be able to squeeze it in, and it'd be a bit of a waste for Phil as he doesn't swim or like the water very much. I love the shark swim there, and the wave pool! If we get there and need a bit of a rest or anything then we can always go and buy tickets on the door. As there is only two of us it shouldn't be too expensive

I really can't wait!
