We're going to be where? At what time? November 2013 - Day 5 - AK 5k, Ohana

Day 5 - AK 5k, Officiant and Ohana

Today we had a scary scary alarm clock - who has a 5am wake up call on holiday?! Us apparently! Maybe I can blame Emma, but between the two of us we decided that doing a 5k run on holiday was a splendid idea! We had both signed ourselves up for - and our respective other halves (sorry boys!) We had signed up for Mickey's Jingle Jungle 5k at Animal Kingdom.

We both rolled out of bed, into our running gear, and into our clothes, and stumbled to the lobby to get a cab. There was one waiting - which was our experience during the whole trip, never a cab shortage - and went to the Animal Kingdom car park to find the rest of the crazy people - I mean runners!

There was a lot of crazy people!

Once we got there and found our chorral (the last one i might add but hey it wasn't a timed event!) we really got into the spirit of the whole thing and had a great time!

Mickey and Minnie were there to see us off!

There was a lot of characters splattered around the course where we could have stopped and had our picture taken but by the time we got there the lines were pretty long and we'd found our runnnig stride so we just kept on jogging. We finished in around 45 minutes which is fine, we had a great time and even got us some funky medals!

We had a ball, and are looking forward to a trip soon when we cross over with another run Disney event. It was so well organised, but that goes unsaid!

We walked around to the AK buses and luckily ran into a Coronado Springs bus just getting ready to leave, result! Back at the hotel we had a quick shower each and got changed, as we had an appointment at 11am at Francks Bridal Studio to meet our wedding officiant, Kevin Knox. The bus to MK came really quickly, and we switched to the monorail around to GF. We were early, and hungry, so went to the quick service at GF and grabbed a bottle of juice and a packet of Doritos - breakfast of champions! We'd been given little snack boxes after the 5k so we'd nibbled our way to this point.

It was closing in on 11am so we headed over to the wedding pavilion of which Francks is next to, and were met at the door by Rev Kev. Wow, talk about Mr Hollywood! We had such a great time with him and we're really happy with our choice. He went through how the ceremony would flow and if we needed a rehersal or not - we decided against it. We were just all really comfortable and had a lovely time with him.

We said our goodbyes, and as we weren't due to meet David and Sarah until dinner, we went over to Magic Kingdom, and of course of first stop was Starbucks Next up was Philharmagic as it's Paul's favourite, then went wandering around the shops in behind the castle, where I picked up the my Princess hoodie and a few bits and pieces for friends

Can't go through new Fantasyland without a stop at the most beautiful toilet area!

After hearing rave reviews we went to Pecos Bills for lunch. I ordered the salad, which was nice, but I really wanted to order the taco self build thing but totally had a brain fart when we got to the front of the queue, have to try again next time! After lunch we went on Big Thunder, then were both fading due to our early start so headed back to the hotel.

When we got back I stopped at the concierge desk and cleared down our room accounts to avoid the nasty shock when we eventually checked out, and asked them to hold all cruise documentation for us at the front desk so they kids wouldn't figure out where we were giong next. Back in the room we chilled out for a while and I tried to tidy the place up as the bomb was still taken residence!

Almost 6pm and the kids were back from their adventures at DHS and we were heading to dinner at Ohana. I'd had such a great time here in 2012 so I couldn't wait to take everyone else so they'd stop me going on about the meat on a stick place!

Bus and monorail to the Poly went nice and smoothly, and we wandered up to the check in desk and got our buzzer. we sat in the bar, and I ordered my Lapu Lapu

Yum!

Our buzzer went off before I had a chance to pay the bar bill, so after everyone was seated I went back to the bar and waited what felt like an age to pay the damn bill... meanwhile food was coming to our table and the three of them were so confused as they'd forgotten what I'd told them about how it was served and kept saying to the server 'but we haven't ordered yet!' bless them :P I finally got back to the table and explained it to them again and everyone tucked in. It was delicious! Pretty much the favourite meal of the whole trip

And they bought Paul a birthday cupcake

After we were done Paul stared in disbelief at the bill, he couldn't believe how cheap it was. Sealed the deal as we are going to have dinner at Ohana with all our wedding guests the night before the wedding next year, so I'm so glad everyone loved it!

Straight back to Coronado Springs after we'd finished, we were all extremely tuckered out and it was time for bed.

Next up - KTTK, shopping, Yachtsman Steakhouse and Illuminations
