We're going to be where? At what time? November 2013 - Day 7 - Wedding Planning / Narcoosees

Day 7 - Wedding Planning and Narcoosees

Today was another day I'd been looking forward to for a zillion years - our wedding planning day!

Our first appointment wasn't until 9.30am so we were able to have a little bit of a lie in. The kids were doing their own thing today so we left them in bed and headed for the Grand Floridian. My stomach was in knots so we skipped breakfast as we planned for an early lunch at the Grand Floridian Cafe.

We got to the Grand and walked over to Francks - we had the route down pat now! We met Glorida who would be doing our site visit - finally getting to see these venues we'd been dreaming about for months in person! She wanted to take us to the Living Seas Salon first of all which is our reception venue. We got to drive back stage at Epcot to go in the back entrance which was very exciting! Back stage is a whole new world, and massive! Felt like it took ages to get around to the land pavilion. For those who don't know, the Living Seas Salon back onto the massive tank inside Epcot, next to the Coral Reef restaurant. We parked up back stage and walked on stage. Gloria said our guests wouldn't take this route, they would be driven in vans to a door closer to Living Seas but this was just easier on the day. She took us through the secret side door next to the entrance to Coral Reef, then went up in a lift, and entered the lobby. I wasn't blown away by the lobby, so I was instantly scared that we'd made the wrong decision! But then we were greeted with this...

Followed by this

Then this...

You couldn't wipe the shock off our faces, now we were blown away! This small section is where our pre reception will be held, then we move into the reception room

We were totally and utterly in love!

From here we hopped back into the car and went to look at our Dessert Party venue - UK Lochside

I love how private it is and a completely unobstructed view!

Next up we were headed to the Wedding Pavilion. I was so nervous as I'd been lucky enough to see inside it when attending Emma's wedding last year, but Paul hadn't seen it in person yet... I needn't have worried!

Sorry for the photo overload!

We were both head over heels, and importantly Paul loved it!

We said our goodbyes to Gloria, who had been a lovely guide, and wandered back to the Grand Floridian. It was about 11am at this point so we still had a bit of time before lunch was being served at GFC. We went and asked for our table as we didn't have a reservation but they said they could fit us in no worries. We occupied ourselves in the shops inside GF, love that they have seperate gentleman's and ladies stores! I got slightly carried away in the ladies store coming home with a new Vera Bradley makeup bag and my second Dooney of the trip, whoops...

I didn't want to carry them around with me during the planning as I wasn't exactly sure what to expect so I had them shipped back to the resort. As we were sorting the paperwork our buzzer went off so we headed back to the Cafe. We were seated at the back and given menus - I was quite excited, as I'd heard amazing things about the beef and lobster burger, of which I ordered with gusto! Paul had the New York Strip which was lovely as well, and a massive portion for lunch!

We shared the dessert sampler for dessert - that little mickey was solid chocolate!

Our next appointment was at 1pm, which was creeping up on us - back to Francks to meet our Wedding and Floral planners. We were seated in one of the comfy chair arears when we arrived and were soon greeted by Christy. She was absolutely lovely and completely understood the vision we had for our day. We went through all of the details from start to finish as to how the day would run and who would be where, being this far out there are a few bits we're not sure of still, such as our music, but we're currently waiting for our first Banquet Event Order, which shows everything that we have planned, and more importantly the estimated budget *gasp* I'm a little scared lol!

We were joined by Michelle who is looking after our Floral, but honestly we don't need much as all our personal floral is silk and we're bringing it with us, so just centerpieces and a few other bits and pieces, sorted!

Then came the cake tasting...

Holy moly this was an amazing experience! We devoured pretty much everything on the plate, but have decided on a 3 tier mad hatter cake, with the big and the small layers being Lemon cake with Raspberry mousse, and the middle layer being vanilla cake with chocolate scented chocolate mousse (jaffa cake cake!) This is the shape of the cake but it will be decorated a bit more crazy like and in different shades of blue:

This pretty much brought our session to a close, and we walked away with a lovely little packet of information 'what to do next' and giant grins on our faces! And we'd knocked it all out in 2.5 hours, result!

we went back to the GF and went up to the boys store and Paul had a little bit of a shopping spree, as he'd not really gotten anything for himself yet so new pj's and a beanie and a few polo's later, oh and a tie lol, he went to town! We got the monorail and the bus back to Coronado Springs and figured out we'd not actually been swimming this trip yet so thought now is a good as time as any so in we went, to the quiet pool near our room. It was lovely in, but a bit cold when we got out! Back to the room for a hot shower then dressed for dinner, we were off to Narcoosees!

We changed it up a little bit this time, instead of getting on the monorail we caught the boat from the MK entrance, which was nice as the boat dropped us off right at Narcoosees. We didn't have much of a wait after we checked in and were shown to a lovely table near the window with a view of the castle - we were doing well with our castle view tables this trip!

Bread arrived

The kids didn't have starters, and tonight was my first glowtini of the trip! I had calamai to start and Paul had the cheese platter

Steaks all round again for dinner, with a couple of extra lobster tails as we were on DDP anyway

Lots of yummy desserty goodness

It was nice, I wasn't blown away, there are other places I'd go again before we go back to Narcoosees, sorry!

Out on the verandah for the fireworks - it was holiday wishes tonight and it was awesome to see the 180 fireworks from outside the park!

After another long day we made our way back to the hotel and crashed out!

Next up - DHS / Wedding Menu tasting / Fantasmic

Ooh wedding planning how exciting ,the wedding pavilion is breathtaking! I'm gunna go for a sneak peak in September if I ca, the living seas looks incredible as well! A good choice!

I'm glad I wasn't the only one who wasn't blown away by narco sees, think if I wasn't on the dining plan I would have been a bit gutted spending all that money, I prefer Cali grill!

Looking forward to reading more xx

Your wedding venues are amazing. The living seas salon is perfect, it is amazing what is behind the scenes at Disney.

Love the style of cake you will be having and the flavours sound delicious.

So happy that you were both impressed with your choices.
