We're going to be where?! At what time?! November 2013 - Day 10 - DHS and Boarding the Dream!

Day 10 - DHS and Boarding the Dream
Taking the wedding planning out of our trip we were most excited for this bit - leaving WDW and going to Port Canaveral to board the Disney Dream for our first ever cruise!

We were up nice and early, as we wanted to leave before bell services came to collect the bags which was at 8am so we got up and got ready and herded the kids out of the hotel through their room rather than our room - so they couldn't see the cruise luggage tags! We said goodbye and thank you to our awesome rooms, we really did love CSR. We got to the food court and it was bagels all round for breakfast. We dropped our hand luggage at bell services for us to collect later and headed to Hollywood Studios - and as we continue with our bus luck the bus was there waiting for us, well we had to jog just a little bit, i.e. sprint... but we got there!

We had a fastpass for Toy Story so headed there first, good fun but I still don't get all the hype I'm sorry!

After we were done we headed back up to Sunset Boulevard and used fastpasses for Rockin Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror - have to say we really enjoyed fastpass+ - I prebooked a whole bunch but was able to change them on the fly for most attractions. We couldn't leave without going on Star Tours again, so we all went on. The other three fancied it again but it had shaken me the wrong way so I grabbed a drink and sat in the shade. After they were done we headed back towards Rockin Rollercoaster, the boys went on but I sat out, and Sarah decided to keep me company. They conveniently left me at Starring Rolls... then this appeared...

Mmmm it was scrummy!

That was it for park time - we were headed back to Coronado Springs. The magical express was picking us up at 12pm so we needed to make sure we were back in plenty of time. The cruise reps were wandering around the lobby, and we tried to distract the kids with collecting the bags while I identified ourselves to the rep but they clocked on pretty quickly. Now this was the reason I wanted to tell them beforehand... they didn't really know what they were in for so they didn't really get the big reveal excitement - or maybe it's coz they are pretty much adults now I dunno, but anyway we were going on our cruise so who cares!
While we were waiting I went into the cafe and bought Paul his smartie cookie that he never got around to having, so we kept it for a snack for the bus. The bus finally arrived

We were on our way!

Via Caribbean Beach and Art of Animation... sigh... private transfers next time!

I have to admit I had a nap on the bus, hehe!

We got our first sights of the ship

We got off the coach when it parked and went through security - took a whole of 20 seconds Up the escalator and saw a mass of people! Luckily it wasn't as bad as it looked and we got through the line pretty quickly

Loved the Mickey head gateway to heaven!

Walking down the gangplank towards the ship

The four of us then just stood in the atrium after we were announced as the Crest Family and, in awe, stood there and spun in circles, trying to take it all in

They had told us at check in that our stateroom was ready so we headed there first to drop our bags off. We spun in a circle in there as well, then went up to Cabanas to get some lunch, we were starving!

We couldn't believe how big Cabanas was... it just kept going! After we'd finished eating we found the ice cream station... mmm we practically lived here! I got my hands on a drink of the day cocktail - such a good deal - pay for the cup once then get cocktail refills of drink of the day for a fiver, bargain!

We wandered around decks 11 and 12 with our drinks, it was quite windy up there!

Sarah had a nap...

Then it was time for the sail away party - this was only tainted by a horrible woman litterally pushing her child between my legs... I was wedged between Paul and a pillar and she still managed it - then the mother wandered off and left her there! The child went looking for her so I closed the gaps as much as I could but as the mother had already done it once the child then thought it was ok and kept leaving and coming back... grrrr! I wouldn't have minded if the mother had just asked me if I could move, but she just shoved her in.. anyway... party time!

We both had our DSLR's with us and got very snap happy during the party but I won't bore you with anymore! We went back to the room and got ready for dinner. Tonight, we were eating in Royal Palace.

Our serving team were great, Victoria was our assistant server and beverage server, can't remember our servers name nor our head server... thats how much of an impact they made on us lol! Food porn time!

Love the bread baskets

Victoria kept us entertained after the meal with little puzzles she'd draw on the table cloths with washable crayons

After we were finished dinner we went down to deck 4 to have a look through the shops. It was quite rocky tonight so I hoped it didn't continue like this, I'd convinced myself that we wouldn't be able to feel the boat move but I was wrong!

I bought myself and Sarah a Disney Cruise Line charm for our chamilia bracelets while we were waiting for the show to start, as well as an Admiral Donald Disney Dream pin for our pinboard. Tonight's show was Golden Mickey's, which we all loved! The entertainment surpassed our wildest dreams it was fantastic.

After the show the kids went back to the room, while Paul and I had a wander around on deck. It was still really windy and my dress was up around my ears so we thought it best to head to bed!

They'd made our room up and the kids were tucked up in their bunks - I thought they would have pulled the murphy bed down but they put Sarah on the top bunk instead which was perfect, it meant we could get out onto the balcony without stepping over here. The next day's navigator was on the bed and we had a flick before turning in for the night.

Next up - Docked at Nassau but we stay onboard!
