Looks like a great trip, well thought out and good amount of time in each place when considering how long you are away for.

I know! It feels like a lot when we tell people in person, but actually I think the timings will be pretty perfect! Can't wait to decide what things we're going to do in each city!

Well, it worked out that Citizen M was going to cost around £200 more, and we talked about it and decided that we've already done Citizen M, and because the rooms are exactly the same, we would stick with Radio City Apartments for something a bit different!

Really enjoying reading your trippy!

Thanks! Yeah, we did a fair bit of planning and analysing how long we wanted to spend in each place, so think we've perfected it, but I suppose we will just have to wait and see till we get there! Getting excited as it's 9 weeks tomorrow!

Hi we did 6 nights in NYC and 8 nights Orlando in November 13, it was one of our best holidays. We flew from JFK to MCO and same return, no hassle at all.
Hope you have a fantastic trip, looking forward to reading about your antics! X

Update #2

So now onto our plans for while we are in NYCCC!

*On a site note, as mentioned before, we've decided to stick with Radio City Apartments. Citizen M was going to work out more expensive and we've stayed in the one in Glasgow, which looks identical! So going to stick with Radio City, since neither of us have been there before!*

1st Night - Tuesday 17th June

Our plans for the first night is to have a wee browse around, and have dinner somewhere near our hotel. We're very close to times square, so can anyone recommend a really good first night eatery? We might go for the OBVIOUS Olive Garden, as we are both partial to a Tour of Italy...

But any other recommendations would be much appreciated!

We then plan to head to Top of the Rock, just in time for sunset, which should be around 8.30pm.

This is exactly what we'll be hoping for!

It'll then be an early night for us, as we'll have been up for a LONG TIME by now... and need our beauty sleep for some action-packed days ahead!

Day 2 - Wednesday 18th June

Our first full day!

We plan to do some sightseeing, but nothing too touristy, really fancying hitting Chelsea Market, followed by wandering through Highline Park, as neither of us have done this before.

No set plans for this evening really , although we are going to TRY OUR VERY, VERY BEST to get tickets for either Late Night with Seth Meyers, or The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon! Tickets are sooo limited though, so we have all fingers crossed that we'll manage to get a pair of tickets.

Does anyone have any tips for this?

Finally, we plan to round of the night by having dinner at STK, and we're siding with the Meatpacking District restaurant? Anyone have any thoughts here?

Really looking forward to having a nice, juicy, NYC steak...

Will finish the night by having cocktails somewhere, or maybe hitting a bar/club. Arlene's Grocery looks like it might be a hit?

and onto...

Day 3 - Thursday 19th June

Our last full day in New York!

Lot's of shopping and wandering this day, and doing things we haven't yet managed to squeeze in that we want to do before we head onwards!

We'll head back to the hotel around 3 to get ready for our last big night in NYC!

We have dinner booked at Guy's American Kitchen, after watching a few Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives episodes and checking out the the menu...mmmmm...

Then we're off to Longacre Theatre to see Of Mice and Men, starring James Franco and Chris O'Dowd! Sooooo excited for this!

We think we'll end our night with a small drink somewhere, I fancy Dylan's Candy Bar, then head back for a good night's sleep before our early rise to go and pick up our car!

So... any other dining/drinking/shopping/sightseeing recommendations?

We still need to book our table at STK, and our Top of the Rock tickets, but apart from that, I think our NYC section is pretty planned out!

Just seen your pre-trip report what a fab trip you have planned!
Another Scottish dibber as well which is often a rare occurrence
For eating in NYC I'd recommend Ruby Tuesdays which is next to times sq. it's affordable and has great drinks too! Also juniors is amazing with huge portions too! I'd recommend going down to soho for shopping it was so much more relaxed down there and more of a New York vibe as well

Hi there, just found your pre-trip report and your plans sound fab. We fly out to NYC the same day as you (albeit we are flying to JFK from Heathrow) so I will be following along with your plans to see if I can steal any of your ideas

I am also interested to read about your road trip as we are thinking of visiting friends in Atlanta next summer and driving over to Hilton Head, before ending up in Orlando.

Another Scottish dibber... love it! I've heard Ruby Tuesdays is good.. and after looking at their menu (and cocktail menu!) we're adding it to the list! So thanks for the recommendation
Juniors is another defo... the portions are HUGE and more importantly, look extremely YUUUMMMMEY! I think I went to SoHo last time I was in NYC, so it will be nice to head back. Our only concern is time! Sooo much we want to do and sooo little time!

Exciting! 8 weeks today until we both go... you can appreciate the excitement!

A road trip is something I've always wanted to do and feel so lucky that I'm actually getting to do it with my lovely BF

Hilton Head looks lovely but a bit out the way for us, but if you are only doing the Atlanta area then there before heading to Orlando, that sounds great!

Hope you enjoy the rest of our planning
