oh we defo will!

With only ONE WEEK to go, I thought I would take a break from talking about FOOD, and talk about the activities we have planned, and the bookings we have made for said activities.

I have also decided to do this in reverse order, just to mix things up a bit

Orlando

We got our park tickets (Universal 2day Park to Park) with our Hotel booking - through a great deal on the Universal Official website. However, this means that due to limited time (3 days!), we're going to skip Disney and just make full use of our Universal tickets instead.

However, we plan to make one visit to Downtown Disney, for several reason, some of which include:

The shops...



The food and drinks...



AND MOST IMPORTANTLY, a chance to wear my Minnie Ears!



We plan to potentially eat at the Rainforest Cafe, as this is a childhood favourite of Stuart's. However, we know we will struggle for time while Karen is with us, so we're not going to book anything, just turn up and hope for the best.

The news has finally arrived (kinda) that the Harry Potter expansion will open the day before we arrive in Orlando, so it's gonna have to be a full scale expedition if we plan to see it. Our current plan is to arrive about 45 minutes BEFORE our already 1 hour early entry, try to see all the new stuff as quickly as humanly possible, and then pray that the expansion will mean that the rest of the park is a lot more quiet than usual! Can you sense my apprehension at any of the above?

I'm not a MASSIVE fan, and Stuart and Karen aren't too bothered at all, so it won't be the end of the world if we don't manage it.



We've also booked an ADR at California Grill for Karen's last night with us - a surprise for her! I've booked a table around 30 minutes before Wishes is due to start, so fingers crossed we'll get a good view of this too Just a little bit of Disney Magic



Finally, the rest of our time in Orlando will just be relaxing and shopping (ie spending the last of our dollars! )

Mall of Millennia, Florida Mall, Outlets etc...



Savannah

I'm going to embarass myself as a dibber here and say... we have little to no plans for Savannah! I know this will annoy/upset some people, as I've heard it's a beautiful city that you can't do in 1 day etc etc, but this is really a stopover for us. Yes, we are looking forward to seeing Savannah and how lovely it is, but we really just need somewhere to stop between the drive from Myrtle Beach to Orlando!

Myrtle Beach

And spending time with Karen!

Karen has managed to bag as tickets for either a Legends Tribute show, or a Magic show, so we'll do that one night, and Stuart wants to watch the USA/Germany World Cup game too.

We have two nights in MB, and we will also probably go to Hard Rock and House of Blues for dins...





Raleigh

Again, this is another stopover for us, and we only have the one night here, but as mentioned previously, this one night will be spent eating BBQ!

But, on the bright side, just ONE WEEK TO GO

We are so excited, I started sorting out my holiday clothes at the weekend. This time next week we will be at our airport hotel

Sound so exciting would love a road trip x x

Isn't it great when you get all excited and you try and do anything you can that involves the holiday? ! I know that's what we are like anyway!

Got my Mum looking out the USA Sat Nav and USA Hairdryer today, so no excuse not to start packing TONIGHT... we will be on a flight next week at this time, although we will have just left Edinburgh...

Have always wanted to do a road trip, so we are MEGA excited! Thanks for reading xx

Washington D.C.

We are, of course, planning on seeing all the main sights, The White House, Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, Smithsonian etc.
We had originally planned to book a hop-on-hop-off bus tour, but after talking with friends who had been to DC, it would appear most of the main attractions are fairly close together, so we're just going to wing it, and walk between them.
We can always book a bus tour once we are there, if needed.



Most importantly for D.C... we've booked our tickets for the Crime and Punishment Museum! Sooooo excited for this!
Stuart booked this last week, and he also booked the Top Detective Challenge, so we can really act like big kids and be detectives for the day



Our visit is booked for Monday 23rd June at 10am, our full day in Washington D.C.

We also plan on visiting the Georgetown area, and having an evening here, where we can go to the shops and go out for dinner and drinks.

Philadelphia

Stuart also booked our Philadelphia Penitentiary tickets last week, so we have them good to go. They are open tickets, so we will use these at some point on our full day here. It also turns out there is Urban Beach Party that day too - a free outdoor festival that offers games, music, beach activities, food, and fun for the whole family. Might be worth a visit!



New York City

As mentioned before, we have tickets booked for OF MICE AND MEN! and we have some meals booked too.
We've booked Top of the Rock for our first night at 8.05pm, just in time for the sunrise!

We also have our Seth Meyers tickets ordered, but, we will still need to queue up on the day to ensure we get in OK.

Finally, I have applied for fan passes to the Today Show Concert Series with Fall Out Boy, so just waiting to hear back about these!

So with one week to go, I think we have all our plans in place and our remaining free time will be decided upon at the time.

Sooooo excited! 7 sleeps!

Doesn't it look awesome! I must admit, even though Stuart's sister, Karen, has been a few times, I've never seen what it looks like from outside until now. Very impressed! CANT WAIT! We love an HRC cocktails and nachos combo

Really hope we see HP too, will be gutting if we miss it, as I don't see us going back to Orlando for a LONG time
