Wawa
So we were up and out and heading to the airport, ready for the long journey home. Prior to this, it was agreed we needed to have a quick breakfast even though I was dreaming of IHOP. Mr P said he knew how to treat me right and was going to buy me breakfast at a petrol/gas station instead! Not anywhere but at Wawa **insert Mr P's funny voice when he says this! Over the years this has been a family running joke how much Mr P talks about this place. Where we have stayed there has always been a Wawa near by and we have always used it for free cash withdrawals too. But I've never been inside myself. Until now. Had to apologise for mocking him so much! Lots of choice. Not the height of cuisine but can't beat $15 for breakfast for the 4 of us. Had our own bagels, hash browns and shared 2 orange juices. Perfectly acceptable for a quick and easy breakfast. Next time happy to try the pastries, fruit and yoghurts too when time is of the essence or on a budget. There are seats/tables outside but these were taken and we were happy to sit in the car with air conditioning on! United flight A cup of tea and mini pretzels from Orlando to Chicago. A pleasant savoury snack Chicago Airport Can't come to (or via!) and not have Chicago pizza. We got 2 to share from a takeaway stand in the terminal. Wasn't expecting much and we were all feeling a little flat at this point, but they were very yummy! Hit the spot perfectly. Cheese & tomato and meat feast The crisps look gigantic and the pizzas small. They weren't. Think it's just the angle. We had a 4 hour connection time so ample time to enjoy some of our favourite chocolates. Diet starts tomorrow! And a little while prior to boarding discovered Starbucks did my new love - very berry hibiscus. Very refreshing and didn't last long. Oh to be back sitting in Celebration drinking this. United flight Usual plane food but the pasta was more edible compared to the chicken I had on the inbound flight. Picked the better choice this time. Was offered tea/coffee on 2 extra occasions. Ermm... Not great McDonalds Once we landed and had left Heathrow we headed to McDonalds to get a coffee for Mr P ready for the journey home. Decided we all needed a little calorie boost but agreed Wawa was much nicer the previous morning. And the morning before that. And the week before. Holiday blues had already kicked in! Total spends $49.53 McDonalds - £14 Arrived home safely to find my parents had done us a mini food shop. Love them. So that's that. All complete. Well I did have a cuppa and these! 😊 Will do a final summary/future plans when my body clock has adjusted back to UK time. Just wanted to say a very big THANK YOU to everyone who has read and commented. Hope it's been helpful/interesting or simply provided a photo food fest to drool! Mrs P xxxx Edited at 11:52 PM. |

Really disappointed...I thought I was only one doing a funny Wawa voice.
My family never ventured in either. I am often a while... It's either there or Racetrack that has a whole room with cold beer in it. I am sure I didn't just make that up...

Glad you had a safe journey home. I'm so sad that this report is over! It's been great, thanks so much for sharing.
The last few updates all look lovely but i'm devastated that the Denny's s'mores pancake puppies & marshmallow dip were not good. They sound so epic! Look forward to the next one.

Haha. It's not just you!
You and beer?! Surely not. My beer radar wasn't on. I'm so rock n roll I was checking out the milkshakes & freestyle machine! Thank you. Means a lot. Grateful for your kind comments. Sorry about that. They were such a let down. Never again. The next what?!?! Thank you so much for reading along. Mission accomplished! Thank you very much for reading and commenting.
