Pre-Travel Day: Breakfast at home As we won't be eating until quite later tonight I decided to have a filling breakfast. Boiled egg and soldiers Andy had something much earlier but just had a jam donut. I had a bite and it was rather nice. Just waiting for Virgin online check in to open. Edited at 05:30 PM. |

Pre-Travel Day: Little M Bar - Radisson Blu Manchester Airport We arrived and checked in at pretty much bang on 2pm. The plan is to get the train to Manchester and go for an early dinner. We still had a while until the next train so went for a drink in the hotel cocktail bar - Little M bar. Andy had a bottle of Bulmers cider as they only had lager on draught. It was £6.80! 😩 I had a cocktail - Rhythm & Blues It came in a cute glass. Yep that says £10! 😪 It was nice though and tasted akin to a pina colada. Now on the train to Manchester in search of cheaper drinks! Edited at 02:44 PM. |

Pre-Travel Day: Albert's Schloss - Manchester Once off the train we headed to one of my favourites, Albert's Schloss. It's a bar/restaurant with a German Oktoberfest theme and is really pretty inside. I had a Fruli strawberry beer which was £4 for a 2/3 pint glass. Andy ordered a pint of Aspalls cider. The tap looked normal but it actually came out as a fruit cider, very similar to my strawberry beer but without the yeasty aftertaste. Mine on the left. Cute glass I don't normally do beer at all but this was lovely and light and I really enjoyed it. Much more reasonable at only £9 for the round. Edited at 05:30 PM. |
