All your hotels look ace, but what's with the resort fees?! Is that the norm on the west coast? Ouch!

It's coming round so fast lovely! Xxxx
8 you say? Challenge accepted!

The resort fees really suck. Its all new to us as on our last visit we booked as part of a package so they were included... such a rubbish thing to budget for!

Thanks for keeping up with my lovely (despite the filtering out! ) xxx

Update 3 - Palm Springs hotel

So with Anaheim and Vegas updates ticked off the list let’s get on with the next stop on our West Coast adventure… Palm Springs! This is was a late addition to our itinerary, after telling my American manager our plans he insisted that it was a must-do and after a little research we decided it was definitely worthy of a stop!

When looking for hotels we immediately came across Hard Rock Hotel and after a brilliant stay at the one in Universal, Orlando last year we were really keen to see what the Palm Springs version had to offer! From the photos it looks pretty funky!

We will be arriving on Sunday 21st and checking in for one night. We have booked a premium king room with pool and mountain views through eBookers at a cost of £153 (using a 15% voucher code and cashing in £14.93 we had in our Bonus+ account). On arriving we will also have to pay up $36 in resort fees which includes valet parking (those resort fees are really racking up!).

One of the main draws of stopping by Palm Springs was to go on the Palm Springs Tramway, the world’s largest rotating tram car! We are unsure whether we will do this on the day we arrive or the day we leave, but it’s a definite must-do! We just need to remember to pack a jumper as from what I have read it gets pretty chilly at the top!

So that’s now 4 hotels down… just 2 more to update you on now!

So excited about stopping here, it's going to be short and sweet and no doubt I will wish we had more time there but as long as we get on the tramway I will be happy!

Hope your final plans are all coming along well, not long to go now!

I am so excited about this hotel, if HRH in Universal is anything to go by we are in for a treat

The tramway looks amazing, just hoping my jelly legs don't get the better of me on the way up! xxx

We did the Aerial Tramway last year - it was amazing, I'm sure you'll enjoy!
A bit of a bump as the capsule passes the towers on the way up!
Such a good day out for us, had food at the restaurant/café at the top, took some fabulous photos, our teenagers acted like tots playing in the snow
It was great to be able to see the San Andreas fault from up there. Luckily we had a clear day, could see for MILES!

We saw that hotel as we passed through Palm Springs, it does look good! (we stayed at a hotel on the outskirts of Palm Springs)
We have stayed in the Hard Rock Hotel at Universal in Orlando and also the one in Las Vegas. Loved them both

Snow?! What time of year did you visit? I might need more than just a jumper then?! So happy to hear you loved it, and thanks for the heads up about the bumps... I will be prepared now (although will no doubt still poop my pants!). Love the idea of eating up at the top, will definitely check out what is on offer up there! Thank you for the tip!
