Another Dose of Disney Dreams August 2016 - Day 21 - Shopping & Cocoa Beach
INDEX
Previous day - here Thursday 25th August Well after our very late night I expected us to wake up later than usual and I was so glad to see it was 8 0clock when I actual woke. As usual everyone else was asleep and I was glad that the kids were, I didn’t want them to feel tired later. Scott woke not long after and went to get some fresh coffee for us both. It was a really sunny morning quite a contrast form yesterday. The kids woke a little after 9am so I got on with the last bit of packing whilst everyone else got ready. Funny how you don’t realise how much stuff you have until you get round to trying to pack it! Once done we checked the room, all the drawers etc to make sure we’d not forgotten anything. Scott and Hayden took the cases down to the car and then we were all done. Packing finally complete we left our room. Time for something to eat! It was more like brunch as it was well past our usual breakfast time. After our lovely brekkie we went into shop to spend our last few snack credits that we had. I also bought 2 of the small size photo albums for the kids which had 2016 on them, something that we get every time. Then it was time for us to say goodbye to Port Orleans Riverside hope we get to see you again sometime. Headed over to Walmart first for a quick look around, we needed a few more beers to take on board with us and ended up buying a few more cosmetics too. Next stop was at Premium Outlets which was mainly just to have a walk round to pass a bit of time. We bought a few t-shirts for Hayden, Jamie and Scott from the Ralph Lauren shop then of course we had to have a look in the Disney shop! Bought quite a few bits from here they had a Disney Cruise line photo album for 99 cents, yes it said 2015 on it but it’s a lovely album and we know that we went in 2016. There were more 99 cent bargains which we bought, 2 different Star Wars mugs with a Storm Trooper on and the other had Kylo Ren. They were quite heavy the CM wrapped them up well in lots of paper so I was able to pop them into a case when we got back. Poppy spotted the $10 pillow well it was hard not too as they were everywhere They had some lovely princess ones but Poppy fell in love with the Olaf pillow. I did briefly think how on earth am I going to pack this but then thought well Poppy can use it on the plane coming home so no packing required Somehow we stumbled across the Kate Spade outlet store and I decided to take a look inside. There were so many bags in there and I decided to treat myself to one after a shop assistant had told explained to me the offers. I wanted an everyday shoulder bag something which I knew I would use on a daily base so opted for a lovely black shoulder bag. The assistant pointed it out after I’d told her the kind of bag I was wanting and after all the discounts, 60% off and then a further 20%, it came to $118. We’d got our dollars at a half decent rate so I was really pleased with the price. I’ve never had an expensive designer bag mine are all from Primark so I was really chuffed to have been able to afford a lovely bag which I use all the time now. It was mid afternoon now time for a spot of late lunch, well it was more like an early tea. We’d got 5 quick service credits to use up so we drove over to Disney Springs to Wolfgang pucks, it was practically empty inside. Ordered our food sat down and waited for it to come out which wasn’t a long time. We struggled to eat everything I think it was more to do with the fact that we weren’t particularly hungry but we wanted to use our credits up and not waste them. The server came over and asked if we wanted a bag to take the food away with us which we took up on. The server here had been great we left a tip on the table for him as we left. I know I’ll have probably said it before but I do think it’s a great quick service place we’ve always had a good meal here. Our last couple of stops were in the Christmas store where we bought a couple of things then lastly the Lego store. Hayden and Jamie each bought themselves a set out of their last bit of money. Shopping done! Time for us to say our goodbye’s here We then set off for our journey over to Cocoa Beach which although the drive was quite boring it was relatively quick and thankfully non eventful. As we neared Cocoa Beach we could see the port in the distance Much to our surprise we managed to find our hotel really easily and soon we were checking in. It was around 7pm so we knew our room would be ready. We’d got a family room which we knew was fairly basic but were a step up from the basic room for 5. I was expecting much the reviews had still not been good but I thought for 1 night it would be ok. It didn’t look too brilliant as we parked up to the room and once inside I immediately thought thank goodness we’re only here for a few hours! It was clean which was the main thing but it was very basic and there wasn’t much room inside. Poppy loved it more so because they had a little tv of their own! The kids got changed and we headed out to the beach as they wanted to see the sea and maybe have a dip in it. It was a breezy evening but really warm still so the breeze felt good. We only had a short walk to the beach which was located at the back of the hotel near to the beach bar. It was nice and quiet out there Spent a lovely hour or so on here just chilling and generally messing around. We only left because the sun was going down and it would be dark. Once back in our room we all showered and changed ready for bed. Kids watched some TV and I did my nails. We wondered beforehand where to go for our dinner but decided that we wouldn’t bother. The kids weren’t hungry so they nibbled on all the various bags of snacks that we’d acquired from the snack credits. I think Scott heated the pizza up in the microwave and had that! To say we were a little excited about tomorrow was an understated we couldn’t wait. I was just a little anxious about the weather though as a tropical storm was out at sea and had been brewing for the past few days. Although we’d heard about the storm we’d not dwelled on it as there’s not a great deal you can do about the weather. So long as the cruise went ahead we’d be happy and I had plenty of travel sickness tablets in case of high seas Thanks for reading |

Lovely that you had a day to relax before you set off
I am drooling over the food from WPE. I am really craving pizza now and every trip report I've read today had pizza in it haha. The roast chicken and mash is a favourite of mine too. |
