NBC sports grill & brew
NBC sports grill and brew
9th June. After our trip to Walmart we went for a wander around city walk. Ended up at the NBC grill. We arrived at about 8:15pm. The basketball was on at 9 so think we did really well as it got super busy. I didn't do very well with the notes at this point! Completely forgot which cocktail I ordered it had lemonade and bourbon in it and was lovely. Chris had a beer flight called 'When in Rome'. He really enjoyed this. I remember this was around $10. We then shared some chicken wings. Chris is obsessed with chicken wings. He asked the waitress what exactly ranch was when she asked if we wanted ranch or blue cheese - they then had a really long discussion about this as apparently those from the northern states prefer blue cheese and ranch was more of a southern thing. She gave us both dips in the end . These were $12.95 For mains I had smoked pulled pork and chris had bang bang chicken. Both were lovely and very filling. The sauce with the bang bang chicken was delicious. The pulled pork was $18.25 and the bang bang chicken $14.95. The total bill was $72 and we left $85. We were in bed and asleep by 10:30 - considering that's 3:30am Uk time we were impressed! Edited at 10:19 AM. |

Hogsmeade Butterbeer
Saturday 10th June
Hogsmeade Butter Beer Cart Breakfast was just a mix of the snacks from walmart - mainly sugar cookies and blueberry muffins with juice. Then we set of for early entry at Islands of Adventure. We got a frozen butterbeer to share after going on Forbidden Journey - we were waiting for the first hogwarts express over to kings cross to try and ride gringots at 9am. We loved this - much better than the normal one at the studios tour in London. Price $6.49.

Great report. Looking forward to following your trip. I agree - Frozen Butter Beer is so much better than the drink.

Cletus' Chicken Shack at Fast Food Boulevard
Cletus' Chicken Shack at Fast Food Boulevard
We went here at about 12:15 - it was busy but not overly so and we got our food in about 5 mins. We had my friend Sophie and her fiance James with us by this point. They were due to fly home on the 9th with Thompson but were delayed and then on the Saturday morning they were told that they wouldn't fly until Sunday. They had been put up in a hotel somewhere so decided to Uber to Universal and spend the day with us. I had the chicken thumbs with tater tots. Which was just over $10. Chris had the chicken waffle sandwich which was just over $12. Which he enjoyed even though it was quite messy. I also liked mine even though it was basically a plate full of yellow!
