The breakfast at WPE looked so good. We've only eaten there at lunch or dinner time but looks like we'll have to try for breakfast

Enjoy your time at the beach.

Hi all Mr P here - after a fantastic couple of days in St Pete Beach we have now arrived at our lovely villa in Cape Coral. Normal service now to be resumed - thanks for all the kind comments over the past couple of days - we have read them all, but forgive us for not replying to them all individually, we will try and resume "normal" service from now on.

Mrs P will be updating you shortly on the food from the last couple of days, but as a spoiler we've got back this evening from eating one of the best burgers I've ever had!

Also coming soon will be my "Highs and Ho-Hums" summary of our week in WDW.

Thanks all for reading and commenting - really is appreciated.

Mr P

Have now managed to upload all the photos from our last day in Disney.

Now catching up with the last couple of days.

Mad Fish - St Pete Beach

Mad Fish is situated a short walk from the Grand Plaza hotel where we were staying again. It's small inside and we were glad we got there early as we didn't book in advance. You can only do this by phone. It advertisers itself as fine dining.

Service was superb through out explaining what each dish included, checking for allergies and frequently refilling drinks.

Bread & olive spread. Was a nice change from butter. Girls love olives so was a hit.

The mains were lovely.

Seafood Trio Pasta.
Mr P enjoyed this.

Wild-Caught Atlantic Salmon. Perfectly cooked with amazing flavour. The purple potatoes were a great combination.

The kids menu wasn't huge and after the amount of food on the DDP the girls weren't overly hungry. All they really wanted to do was return to Bongos!

Kids Pasta

We had decided we definitely didn't need dessert, until Mr P saw Key Lime Pie on the menu! His favourite and a Florida classic. Lived up to expectations.

I had no will power. Girls and I shared the Flourless Chocolate Cake. This wasn't a patch on the one I had at Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs.

Cost just over $100 plus tip.

Mrs P

The Frog Pond - St Pete Beach

The names of places here make me smile. Skidder's for breakfast last time made me snigger (sorry!) and now curious here as to why.

Front of the menu.

Nice breakfast all round. Portions large and none of us able to finish. Service great.

This was a small side. Lovely and fresh. In hindsight, should've just had this.

Special mention. The orange juice. Yum.

Kids Froggy French Toast!

Corn Beef Hash. Mr P's favourite.

Shared the blueberry pancakes. 3 stack. Felt like we hardly made a dent in them. Could have fed all 4 of us. Not IHOP quality.

We then all waddled out!

Skidder's still tops it for breakfast, but wanted to try somewhere new and would return. We enjoy trying a mixture of independent and chain restaurants.

Cost $43.16 plus tip.
