mexico07, apologies, just realised we didn't respond to your question. 'Ohana was a great meal but, no, I probably wouldn't view it as good value if paying out of pocket - although that is mainly because I wouldn't normally pay out of pocket for any WDW table service - the premium you pay for it means I don't see it as value for money. That said, that's just personal preference and others may think differently.

I had the Key Lime Pie, and it was fantastic (I may also have had a bite of the Snickers Pie, but it wasn't as good as the Key Lime). I can't comment on the cheesecake as I didn't try any of that (don't like white choclate).

You get a great breakfast in Mels Diner in Cape Coral and at the Boathouse on the beach at the yacht club is also good.
Yes, we went to Fords last night - oh my word, incredible We're heading to Mel's for dinner tonight. Having a lovely chilled time here.

You really should - I'm not a fan of beaches and sand so was dubious about our first visit last year, but loved it and couldn't wait to return this year.

You should - it's a family favourite for us. I think Mrs P would go every morning if she could - we don't want to over-do(ugh)se though

Both were fantastic - we'd definitely return to them.

Camping or Bongos? Hmmmmm, tough choice - NOT! We love Bongos- just a great place to enjoy family time.

Ha ha - we (well, I say "we", I mean Mrs P) got a bit of an odd look from the waitress when we asked if we could buy one!

Thanks for reading and commenting.

Super Target & Publix - Cape Coral

After breakfast at IHOP we said farewell to St Pete beach and made our first trip to Cape Coral. We arrived prior to our villa check in time so utilised the time stopping off at the shops.

Can't beat mooching around US supermarkets. We picked up numerous supplies and somehow spent a small fortune. These particularly caught our attention & worthy of photos! 😉

Bear Claw. Graeme/Mr P very partial to these in Panera Bread so decided to give these a go. His outcome. Not bad at all - next best thing to the real thing.

Inspired by Brett & Jo's last trip report Graeme/Mr P was keen to give these a go. He said these were weirdly all kinds of wrong but good!

Had to pick these little bars of yumminess up. Have a slight addiction to these. 2 mouthfuls and they are gone.

Fords Garage - Cape Coral

After checking in to the villa (thank you Capecoralfl - your villa is lovely) and getting sorted, we headed out to Fords Garage. We had been looking forward to going here.

My Dad works for a Ford dealer so we sent him numerous photos to our family whatsapp group.

Verdict. Bloomin Marvellous! Think that sums it up nicely. Great evening. Best. Burgers. Ever. Once we had discovered which burger we fancied. So much choice.

Or you could make your own.

I opted for an American standard. Nothing standard about this burger! Ordered medium/rare. Cooked perfectly.

Graeme/Mr P picked his patty, then cheese, burger bling, get saucy then the bun. Ta dah.

Meaty beans!

Girls had the Kids cheeseburgers

Anyone fancy a lager or ale?! Think my brother in law (Phil who points at a pint) would like the numerous possibilities here!

Edited. Sorry. Just realised it's a rubbish photo and you can't read it. You get the gist!

** Disclaimer. First time I have done this. But took a photo in the restrooms! Couldn't resist.

Great theming and enjoyed a fun laid back evening together. Service was really slow and she kept forgetting things but it didn't affect anything as we were in no rush. Would love to bring my Dad back here one day.

Excellent value.

Breakfast this morning was at the villa.

We headed to the Miromar Outlets at Estero.

DQ (Dairy Queen) - Miromar Outlets at Estero

It was hot and we were flagging (autocorrect initially said we were flashing! Sorry). Our teenage daughter was keen to have a morning snack at Dairy Queen. I was a little cynical as she had discovered this via Instagram thanks to an American actor she follows! I'd never heard of this place before and the outside was unassuming. We shared a Royal Blizzard.

This was good. Everyone dived in. Chocolatey & on par with Twistee Treat. And we had a happy daughter.

Edison Mall - Fort Myers

Sorry to bore you (for those who have read my previous reports) but we got the same thing in the shopping mall as normal. Me and our eldest have had a hankering for orange chicken and Mr P and our youngest, for American subs. This sorted out our cravings and was a good quick pit stop. Fine for what it was. Cost less than $20.

Just having some chill time at the villa, then hoping to go to Mel's diner this evening for dinner.

Mel's Diner - Fort Myers

Even though we had an early lunch and shared, we ended up having a late dinner. Mel's diner had come up whilst researching restaurants in the local area and the villa owner had also recommended here.

Our satnav stated that the Fort Myers restaurant was the closest. On arrival loved the classic American diner look. Inside felt the same. Dated and chintzy in a good way with seating booths and lots of memorabilia.

Our server was great from start to finish. Mr P had downloaded the app which entitled us to free fried pickles as a starter. She had never heard of this before but her manager authorised it quickly.

We wouldn't have had them if we had known what was to come. The menu was vast and we didn't read all the small print that we also got soup and salad with our mains. Food just kept on coming out.

Kids starters of carrots and celery sticks x2.

Tomato & chicken noodle soup

Salads

Bread rolls

Kids hot turkey with mash & gravy

Hot Dog with fries

Turkey Dinner

Meatloaf

I've never eaten such a combination of food before and so glad I was wearing a dress that was floaty (ie expandable!). Food reminded us of Bob Evans. None of us able to finish. Surprise surprise. We had a lovely time as a family chatting, giggling and trying to juggle all the food around our table. Really glad we went.

The damage. $37.67.
