Hi Melissa
I've just spent a lovely hour and a bit reading your whole report! What a fabulous time you've had and such yummy food. So glad you're enjoying exploring Cape Coral and totally agree with you about Ford's Garage - best burgers ever! Lisa Xx

Hi Lisa. Aww thank you. We certainly have. They were delicious. Don't think another burger will compare. Thanks for suggesting the mall & outlet. We had a great time there too.

Golden Corral
So this where our children wanted to go for breakfast on our last full day. We still had restaurants on our list but we have an emotional attachment here. It was the first breakfast we had on our first holiday as a family of four and always go once each holiday. It's cheap and basic and it is what it is but we have always found the restaurants clean, food fine and the staff friendly. It's the only place and time in the world when there is a choice of chips and chocolate fountain for breakfast. Whilst the rest of the world may think we are the worst parents, our children think we are the best! It was hard to discreetly take photos as it was so busy. But each station looked like this and included cereal, fruit, yoghurts, salad, freshly made omelettes, corn beef hash, bacon, sausage, biscuit & gravy, scrambled egg, breakfast pizza and a whole selection of different desserts such as blueberry pie, bread pudding and ice cream plus more! Each location has a similar layout. Some of our plates. Next week back on the diet and a detox. Not very photogenic plates of food as at buffets we just pile it on. I missed my Mum at this point, as at Christmas/New Year she carefully arranged her plate of food before I took a photo! Love her. Cost $36. Great value. Won't need to eat again for a long time... Mrs P

Fins Seafood and Dive Bar - Cape Coral
... We didn't need to eat again till dinner. We decided to go to Fins for our last meal here in Cape Coral. The restaurant is approx 5 minutes walk from the villa. Our first night here, this was our view from the road. Unfortunately after raining for an hour, we admitted defeat and decided to go round the corner in the car. This is who welcomed us at the entrance. Nemo and Dory were inside. We really enjoyed our time here. Food was fresh, delicious and tasty. Felt like we were sitting amongst the locals. Great atmosphere and service. Crab Cake Dinner with fries & corn beans. Never eaten such a large piece of quality crab before. Seafood Enchiladas with fries & Caesar salad. Our children love fish. Bring them to a fish restaurant and they choose... mini cheeseburger sliders and chicken tenders! Can't believe our 2week holiday is nearing the end. Me worrying that my jeans won't fit when I change at the airport, when I should've be worrying about fitting all the snacks, mugs and Bath & Bodywork items in the suitcases! Haha. Ooops. Last day tomorrow. Until then. Thanks for reading. Mrs P

I had to google Golden Corral as I didn't even know this chain nor that we had one on the Cape! Bet the girls loved it.
Fins is so handy to get to - and not even taking into account that during happy hour it's $1.89 for a pint of bud (so hubby informs me!) Don't think about pesky diets just yet! 😂 |
