From Rock'n'Roll to Creole Sept 17: Day 15 : Largo,Florida. Busy doing even less than yesterday

Yesterday is HERE

Sunday 24 Sept

Today is a bit short - well, that's not strictly true as its exactly the same length as every other day , just its a bit short on exciting content .. or any content really.
Our stay with Andys cousin was intended to be a complete chill out and as it was only over the weekend, we really did take the opportunity to not do a lot.
We pottered about the apartment in the morning and just had a homemade breakfast of fruit and cheese before setting off to do a little spot of shopping at the local stores.

We did ponder on the fact that we managed to spend $70 on lots of socks They do make great Xmas stocking fillers though and at $10 for 5 pairs for Calvin, Ralph and Tommy socks, still way better value than over here !

Another Hawaiian shirt for Jamie at $12.99

I just loved the pumpkin stuff - I would so love to live here and be able to decorate my home with all the seasonal stuff. It just all looks so fab.

I managed to pick up 3 pairs of shoes - with my horrible hobbit like feet I really struggle with footwear so this was an amazing find for me - Some Anne Klein kitten heels for $30, Tommy Hilfiger ballet pumps for $25 and some other holiday flatties for $15 . Bargain !

We had a little drive around the area , we could see some hurricane damage to trailers

Then we were back to the apartment and spent the afternoon chilling in the flat with the dogs

Having not heard anything from the hotel in Little Rock yet again, I spent the afternoon composing a suitably sharp email to someone important in the Doubletree chain ... and amazingly within 2 hours of sending it, we had an email back apologising and sorting an immediate refund.
The power of the pen eh !

There was talk of heading over to the beach but the longer we left it, the more the clouds started to roll in

And just before 6 there was another almighty downpour, which forced us in from the balcony as it was also really windy. It eventually died down after an hour or so but we were glad we hadnt decamped to the beach in the end.

Dinner was a delicious home made beef brisket stew that had been cooking all day

It was absolutely gorgeous and perfect with the rain lashing down - almost like being at home !

We spent the rest of the evening watching TV and just chilling out - our time here had gone much quicker than we realised - it felt like no sooner had we arrived than we were on our way again tomorrow.
But no sad faces, we have a couple of days at Sapphire Falls to look forward to

Which is just HERE

$70 on socks! Bargain! The stew does look tasty, proper comfort food.

We must not buy socks on the next trip Be fair to say my eldest could not wash his socks for several weeks now and still have plenty to spare

The dogs are cute and so tiny compared to ours at home !

That's the second time we have had room charge problems with a Hilton based chain .. its really put me off them ! They just weren't bothered that we were $300 out of pocket and that getting it refunded when we were back in the UK wasn't much use

Another lovely relaxing day. Great shoe bargains, you definitely have the nose for finding them!
Very sad seeing the hurricane damage, very sobering
I'm loving the dogs ponytail in their hair, very cute

We did well at that store, you do need to have a rummaging head on though !
It was sad seeing the damage also how random it was that two trailers next to each other, one devastated and the other untouched. Fate for sure.
Ah Mia, she's a monster !
