Day 7 - 23rd Sept: BeachClub - Hard Rock Hotel Lunch today was ordered from the poolside restaurant at the HRH. We had drinks to start. Having had success with the frozen drink before I tried the Creamsicle. Three Olives Orange Vodka, DISARONNO, Amaretto, Mango and Ice Cream Island Oasis. Yum, this was sooo good. Creamy & orangey. Andy went for a large cider which was served in a cool ice bucket. The large 32oz beers are $18 for the first & refills are $14. Domestic beers are slightly cheaper though. Here's drinks menu pics if anyone is interested: For food we had the Beef Nachos Oh man - these are amazing still! I love the garlicky guacamole. They were so huge though! We didn't need another meal that day, just some snacky bits we had in the room.

Ah I always love your dining reports!
Looks like we are actually going on the same day! Random question that is completely not food related... we are staying at HRH for 3 nights/4days at the start of the holiday and I love Universal but I also love HRH and the pool so am considering doing similar to what you did and not buying tickets for Universal and just going to HHN during the evenings and lounging around in the morning. Do you feel it worked well doing that? Not sure if we would be too exhausted doing the parks in the day and back again later for HHN! Do you get chance to do any of the rides during HHN or just the houses? HHN was the main reason for going in October for the first time ever so I can't wait just can't decide what to do!

Me too.
My kinda woman. Their steak is fab. Thanks for reading. Small spolier - Abracadabar is great. Definitely another trip to Tony Romas in order. I used to think it was fab anyway but even better now! How weird! I bet we did walk past eachother without knowing. If you saw someone with weirdly red legs - that was me. (Don't ask!) It was kinda minging. Dessert more than made up for it though. Welcome & thanks! Aww thanks. Well I have to be honest but over the years we have realised that the Universal parks as a whole (particularly IOA) are not our favourite and we were feeling it wasn't worth the cost for us anymore. This might be where it is different for you. However we love The Mummy, Rip Ride Rockit & Gringotts so it made sense to just get these done during HHN. We bought a ticket that included express passes for HHN (offset by the fact we had not bought the normal tickets) so we definitely had more than enough time to do the rides as well as the houses. Some more than once. This included a lot of chilling out with a drink & moseying too. We looooved just chilling at the HRH & Citywalk during the day - relaxed and ready to hit HHN at night and I would 100% do it this way again. Hope that helps just a tiny bit.

Day 7 - 23rd Sept: Velvet Lounge - Hard Rock Hotel Another sneaky trip to the Velvet Lounge to check out the Happy Hour Cocktail of the day and to do some people watching. Again - no idea! Sorry this was a bit of a useless post really. We then had a bright idea to go back to the room get our swimming stuff on and go for a late night dip in the pool! I might have had a Creamsicle cocktail in my hand as I bobbed around too. It was so lovely & peaceful. I could have stayed there all night. A definite highlight of our HRH stay.

Day 8 - 24th Sept: "Beach Club" Pool Drinks - Hard Rock Hotel Today's drinks were. Cherry Limeade Bacardi Torched Cherry Rum, Lemonade and Margarita Island Oasis, Grenadine Nice but not my favourite of all i'd tried (which as you can see is a *lot* haha!). Andy had cider again which came in this awesome bucket this time. I wanted to nick it but not many places to hide it in my bikini.

Day 8 - 24th Sept: Toothsome - Citywalk Feeling wronged by my previous lunch experience, I wanted to go back and put it right. Don't fix what aint broke - so Andy had the same as before. Chicken Bourguignon Boneless Breast, Red Wine, Demi-Glazed, Pearl Onions, Quartered Mushrooms, Bacon, Yukon Gold Mashed Potatoes, Asparagus. $13.95 Think they were running low on mushrooms this time though. I had the Chicken Bercy Boneless breast, white wine, demi-glaze, lemon juice, shallots, butter, mushrooms, fresh herbs, asparagus, Yukon Gold mashed potatoes. $14.95 Have had this numerous times before and always enjoyed it so it was a safe bet. It was again plate lickingly good (I didn't though, don't worry). Toothsome now back in my good books.

Day 8 - 24th Sept: Cold Stone Creamery - Citywalk We skipped dessert at Toothsome this time & instead headed to Cold Stone. We both got one scoop (I think they call that "Like It") in a waffle bowl & chose to make our own creations. I had Cake Batter Ice cream with Marshmallows mix-in. Cake batter is very heavily vanilla flavour with sprinkles. Probably not the most adventurous but it was delicious. Andy chose Strawberry with White Chop Chip mix-in. The strawberry ice cream here is so good. Really tastes like real strawberries, not artificial at all. These were just the right size so I wouldn't like to tackle the Medium or Large!

Day 8 - 24th Sept: Louie's Italian Restaurant - Citywalk Late night snack at the end of our last night at Halloween Horror Nights (sob). 1 slice of Supreme Pizza. Very nice. The sausage had a hint of aniseed (from fennel I think) that I really liked.

Day 9 - 25th Sept: Millers Ale House - I-Drive Today we checked out of HRH & returned to Rosen Inn at Pointe. I had finally managed to bag a FP+ for Flight of Passage so we had lunch before heading to Animal Kingdom. Drinks were Cherry Limeade & Angry Orchard. For my lunch I had the Fish Sandwich Mahi Mahi served blackened, grilled or broiled on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce, tomato and fries. $11.99 I upgraded to sweet potato fries which were a little bit under cooked. They were not too crispy & the odd one was harder than should be. I was hungry so just ate them anyway, they still tasted pretty good. The sandwich was really lovely though, especially once drizzled with tobasco. It was really flavourful & light. Andy had the Build Your Own Chicken Sandwich Choose any three of the toppings from the Build Your Own Burger list. Served on a toasted brioche bun with lettuce and tomato. $9.79 He chose cheese & mushrooms as his toppings. Apparently this was nice but I think he was a bit jealous of mine. Overall a lovely, good value lunch.
