I guess we're grown ups now? Nah, maybe next week! Oct 2016 Part 2 - Day 5 Run Alix Run!

Index

Day 5 - 16.10.16

The alarm went off at 6am, we got dressed and ready and walked the short path to the parks. The forecast today was awful, chilly, breezy and wet, which was disappointing as we had wanted to have a water ride extravaganza. Obviously the rain didn’t bother us but we weren’t too keen on getting soaked to the bone and being freezing! Turns out the forecast was lying! It was overcast (but still hot!) for a bit in the morning but glorious sunshine for the rest of the day except a short Florida shower in the afternoon.

They let us into the park just before 7 and we followed the crowd round to London and through the wall to Diagon Alley. I can see how people can easily miss the entrance to Diagon Alley! It isn’t obvious at all and if we weren’t in a crowd of people the first morning we might have walked right past it!

Setting my eyes on the street this morning was just as wonderful as it was on my first look yesterday. I wonder if the CMs get bored of it? I honestly don’t think I ever would!

We rode Gringotts twice again, waiting less than 15 minutes each time. Ross said he was getting bored of it, weirdo. I wasn’t!
We decided to visit Kockturn Alley. It was well creepy down there! I had a look in Borgin and Burkes which was really cool. Lots of book/film references in there like the vanishing cabinet (if you listen carefully, you can hear a bird tweeting quietly inside) and the hand of glory. I bought a lightweight scarf which is grey with the deathly hallows symbol all over it for $21. I love it and wear it a lot at home.

Smile Ross. You're on holiday!

Better

Ross was getting peckish so the decision was made to have ice cream for breakfast. We’re on holiday though so it’s allowed! We went to Florean Fortescue’s and Ross ordered a strawberry and peanut butter cone and I had a strawberry and cream tub. We paid the $14 and went and sat on a bench by the owlery to eat them and watch the world go by! They play pieces of music from the movie soundtrack, most of which we had as background music at our wedding breakfast so it took us right back to the big day and we played ‘guess which film and which part of the film this music is from’ which we are very good at! We noticed a few extra details like the train track above the buildings and you could hear trains go by and the tracks traffic lights change. Some amazing details! The ice creams didn’t last long. They were so soft and creamy, they went down a treat and didn’t last long.

We had a general wander round and browsed in all the shops but didn’t buy anything which I’m fairly shocked at! I really wanted a Rawenclaw quiddich tshirt in the same style of the Gryffindor onewith ‘Potter’ on the back but they seemed to only have them in Gryffindor and Slytherin...obviously!
I love that they sold U-No-Poo in WWW, my absolute favourite part of Half Blood Prince and one of the reasons why people should read the books! Book Fred and George are so much more hilarious than film Fred and George!

The constipation sensation that's gripping the nation!

We headed out of Diagon Alley and spotted Stan by the Knight Bus. There was no queue for him so we went over to meet him. Unfortunately the shrunken head was asleep but it was still a great interaction, very funny! Not sure about his accent though, don’t think he was really English!
And then we spotted our first squirrel of the holiday! I got rather excited about this but I don’t care! We love squirrels.

Squirrel! If you didn't read that in Dug's voice you have no place here.

I spied the red phone box in the street and decided to visit the Ministry. I headed inside, picked up the receiver and dialled 62442 (magic) and waited but unfortunately the automated witch voice told me that the visitors entrance was currently out of order. Never mind!
It was almost 9am so we went over to Kings Cross and queued to get to platform 9 ¾. It was a walk on and we managed to get on the first train of the day.

My Dad lives in Peterborough so I text him this and told him we'd be at his soon

Once in IOA we went straight to Hogwarts and got two rides on FJ under our belts then headed straight to Kong, hoping it would still be quiet. It was! We joined the express pass queue and it was a walk on!
We both really enjoyed the ride. The themeing was spot on and it was a lot of fun. The only negative thing I experienced was the fact that because I was at the very end of the row, next to the window of the jeep, I could see the bottom of the screen and blackness underneath. It didn’t ruin it but I feel like they should have made the screen run all the way down and under the jeep if possible, just to make it a bit more realistic!

By the time we came off the queue had jumped up a bit so we moved onto the Marvel area and rode Spider Man which was a walk on with our express passes and the Hulk which was a 5 minute wait with express. Spiderman is a firm favourite of mine and Oliver is a huge fan of Peter Parker so I can’t wait for him to ride in October!

Next was going to be our ‘let’s get soaked on the wet rides super fun laughy time’ but before we looked like drowned rats I wanted to go to Seuss Landing and meet Thing 1 and Thing 2. Now Ross pretends to be miserable and a grumpy old man but he agreed to don the shirts and meet the dudes all in the name of being childish so he’s a fun old man really!
I’d checked the meet and greet times so knew they’d be there now. It was a very short queue to meet them and it was mainly kids but I didn’t give a monkeys! When it was our turn the CM took our camera and snapped some great photos for us. Both Things were super excited to see us wearing our tshirts and it was a great meet and greet, so much fun! Ross enjoyed it too, don’t let him tell you he didn’t because he’s lying, he was laughing the whole time!

Now we could get soaked! We decided to do them in the right order or wettest to soakest. Jurassic Park, Dudley Doo Right’s then Bluto’s.
Jurassic Park was a walk on with express. I filmed a lot of the first part (before the raptors ruin everything as per usual!) and show Oliver. He got a huge kick out of it and is now convinced that there are real dinosaurs there, who am I to tell him otherwise? He was super concerned when we told him about the raptors but he was pleased we managed to escape unharmed!
We got fairly wet on the big drop! I didn’t get a splash last time we rode in 2012 but this time was different!

Next was Ripsaw Falls, again a walk on with express. We didn’t ride this one on our last visit as it was in the middle of November and really not warm enough to ride. This ride is hilarious and we got absolutely soaked! That big drop is terrifying but we laughed the whole way it was great!

Nice and damp now we decided to grab a snack from a booth on the bridge over Ripsaw Falls at 11am. Ross got his beloved turkey leg (yuck!) and I got a churro which was yummy! I didn’t make a note of the price though.

Damp!

Finally it was time for the piece de resistance, Blutos. Again, we’ve never ridden this before but having read many many trip reports I knew exactly what was coming! The folks in our raft with us clearly didn’t though as they had donned ponchos for the ride, foolish mortals! They really didn’t realise how pointless that was! They did by the end though! We put all our stuff into the middle compartment and prayed it was definitely sealed tight as my camera was definitely something I’d rather didn’t get drowned! Every single person on our raft was howling with laughter the entire time, mocking each other when they got hit but then getting it yourself, its just the most fun way to cool down on a hot day! It was like we’d jumped into the swimming pool fully clothed!

We hauled our soggy asses back to the hotel, getting some weird looks on the way! Those people obviously weren’t aware of Bluto and the consequences of being a bilge rat! On the path back to the Hard Rock I spied some squirrels running around in the trees so snapped some photos of them. I swiftly stopped when I realised what I was photographing!

Aww cute...

Oh...

The plan was to go down to the pool for a bit then get showered and head back to IOA but as soon as we got back it started tipping it down. So we got out of our wet clothes and put our swim stuff on and some dry clothes over the top then skyped the kids while we waited for the rain to stop. Oliver was very impressed with our dinosaur adventures!

The rain wasn’t stopping and we wouldn’t really have time to use the pool now so we decided to just shower now and go back to the parks as soon as the rain stopped. When I went into the bathroom I realised that Ross had put his wet red t-shirt on top of a white towel and said towel was now very very pink! Oops! I put the t-shirts in a carrier bag so they didn’t dye anything else!

The rain stopped at about 1:15 so we went straight out to door to Bubba Gumps as we were starving by now! We’d only had an ice cream and a churro/turkey leg all day!
On the way we stopped at the globe for some pics.

I flashed my Landry’s card on the way into Bubba’s and we were seated straight away although it wasn’t overly busy so I don’t think the card made a difference! I remember I deliberated over cocktails for a while but eventually decided on one with a souvenir glass, which one I chose will have to remain a mystery as I didn’t write it down! Good old predictable Ross went with a beer, also in a souvenir glass! There was two souvenir glasses on offer, one was a plastic one that had a light on the bottom and the other was a proper glass one so of course we had to have both!

Foor food we ordered a bucket of shrimp to start then Ross ordered the Bourbon Street Mahi Mahi which was charboiled Cajun spiced Mahi Mahi with bourbon sauce, grilled shrimp and mash. I went for the “I’m Stuffed!” Shrimp which was large shrimp with crab stuffing, baked in garlic butter, and Monterey jack cheese with rice.
While we were waiting for our food our server quizzed us on the movie. I’ll admit that I’ve only seen it once and that was a good few years before our visit so I left it to Ross to answer the questions and he got them all right.

All of the food was amazing! So good, that for the first time since setting foot in America, I cleared my plate! I have a stomach the size of a pea so I’m rubbish at finishing meals, especially in America, but I actually finished this one! I was so proud that I took a photo as proof of my victory.
Again I didn’t write down how much it was! All these times I’ve obviously been updating notes while waiting for food so I’ve made notes of what we ordered then written the dollar sign ready to write down costs but just never gotten round to it, so useless! We had $50 credit on my Landrys card including $25 birthday bonus as it was my birthday in September so it won’t have cost us too much out of pocket.

We took our receipt to the shop to collect our souvenir cups and we also picked up a ‘run Forest run’ lead for our doggo, Bella and some golf balls for Ross.
Back into IOA we really wanted to do the Raptor Encounter, just to show Oliver the photos really. At the time he was loving Jurassic World, Owen and his raptors. He even put meeting Chris Pratt as his second choice wish when we applied to Starlight (On a side note, I cannot wait for the new film to come out! It look amaze!) There was a bit of a wait for this, about 20 minutes but it was worth it though, just for a good look at the guy playing Owen! Be still my beating heart. Not quite Pratt but the next best thing! The raptor was hilarious though, he kept screaming (Roaring? Screeching? What would you call it?) in my face and the photographer, who was using our camera) captured it beautifully!

I picked up some Jurassic World dinosaur figurines for Oliver in one of the shops nearby then we went through to Hogsmeade for a go on Dragon Challenge. We went on blue first, and obviously we went on red afterwards, well, it would be rude not to, wouldn’t it! Both were walk ons with our express passes.
The park was fairly busy so we decided to duck out of the park and have a go at the mini golf, to see if I could scrape a win at all this holiday!

Last time we were here we played the alien course so this time we played the haunted mansion one. I think we paid about $35 dollars all together for 18 holes. A short way round the course this middle aged guy who was playing behind us had caught up with us. He was on his own which we found strange but whatever. We asked him if he wanted to go ahead of us as we don’t like feeling rushed, we like to take our time and have fun, but he declined our offer. Instead, he joined in our game! So I went first and took my first shot, Ross took his, then instead of waiting for us both to finish, he took his go! So, so weird! So we were stuck with him the rest of the way round and it’s not as if he chatted to us along the way, he stayed silent. It was the most awkward round of golf in the world!
On the up side, I was victorious! So that’s 2-1 to Ross plus the draw we had on I-Drive. Despite the random tag along it was a fun game, lots of great holes and the theming is super.

I was desperate to sample one of the crazy milkshakes at the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium so we walked over at about 6pm. It was very busy and there was a bit of a wait but it gave us a chance to mooch over the menu. We decided to get one each, mistake! I got the red velvet one and Ross got the strawberry cheesecake one. We paid $25 which might be a lot for two milkshakes but technically we got two milkshakes, a piece of cheesecake and red velvet muffin and we were so full after we didn’t need dinner so it’s a bargain if you ask me!
Again, there was a bit of a wait for the milkshakes but after 20 minutes they were in hand and we found a table outside in the warm sunset.

Oh my daaaaaays. They were scrummy milkshakes! And the delights on top were insane! Worth every penny! Whilst we were supping we were visited by the random lady in costume there. Not sure what she’s called, or her purpose but we had a lovely chat and tried not to point out her horrendous version of an English accent!

The plan for the evening was to head back to the hotel and get some night time pool time in so we wandered back to the hotel, past the huge crowds of people heading into Universal Studios park for HHN. Ross reminded me that it was our last chance to go as we were moving to Disney the next day. I was desperate to man up and do it because it would probably be loads of fun but I just couldn’t bring myself to take the plunge. The walk back to the hotel consisted of Ross’ gentle persuasion, ie. Taking the mickey out of me for being such a pansy!

Once back in the hotel we had a look in the rock shop. I collect Hark Rock pins so I had a spy at their collection. I chose two and a fridge magnet. Because I’m a member I used my $15 voucher that I had which meant it came to $20.
At some point during our shop, Ross had to go up to the room. I can’t remember why but off he went while I chatted to the sales guy about the other Hard Rocks we’d visited. When Ross returned he said he’d done something bad...I presumed that we’d need to give the room a swerve for about 20 minutes, but no, he’d been to the front desk to ask how much tickets were to tonight’s HHN...and bought some! They were $60 each so he just bought them, and because I hate wasting money he knew I’d have to go. I hate that man for knowing me so well!

I went back up to the room to compose myself and put some jeans on in case it got chilly then Ross dragged me out of the room and back to the park. By now the masses had already gone in so there was no queue so no time to stand and think too much and change my mind!

I won’t lie, my anxiety levels were through the roof. We had a quick toilet stop at the entrance and I was on edge thinking somebody was going to jump scare me in the cubicle!
We went to the desks giving out wristbands, showed our ID and got one each. They are designed to be your ID so the guys at the bars would see your wristband and know you’ve been ID checked already. They proved pointless as we were asked for ID when we got a drink anyways but never mind!
*Apologies for the quality of the photos in this next part. I just took my phone with me and apparently the iPhone 5 does not do well in low lighting!*

So it was time to get started. The one house I wanted to do since I was there was the American Horror Story house as I’m a huge fan, but at the time it showed a 2 and a half hour wait so we decided to wait and see what it was like later and just have a general wander round, see how I found it and if I could cope! The walk up past minions/Shrek etc was all about Chance and her asylum friends. There was a few mini stages up with actors on and lots milling about. I tried my best to keep my eye on them all. My heart was beating like crazy!

Then when we reached the New York area my heart just stopped. I could hear chainsaws. I am petrified of chainsaws! My mum says it goes back to when I was a kid and she had to get rid of our cherry blossom tree in our garden so some guy came and cut it down with a chainsaw, apparently I got really upset as I loved the tree and my fear spans from that experience.
When I heard the chainsaws I started to panic and I could feel the tears coming but I held onto Ross, took some deep breathes to calm down and told myself to get a grip and walk.
This was the ‘Survive or Die Apocalypse’ scare zone. There seemed to be two groups, ones with gas masks on and others with animal skin hoods. Not sure if they were all on the same team or what but they were creepy. They drove around in big armoured vehicles and there was also big scaffolding type structured that they were stood on, breathing fire and things.

After watching other groups and the actors it really didn’t take long to put together three simple rules of survival in my head.
1. If they get in your face, stare them down – run and they’ll just run after you.
2. Stay calm, don’t scream – they pick on the screamers.
And finally,
3. Never look behind you!
That last one I learnt from my own experience but was hard to uphold. I’d witnessed a few SAs (scare actors) go up behind people and rev the chainsaws in their ears or behind the knees so I was very conscious of anybody behind me but the one time I turned my head to check, when I turned back round this guy in a gas mask was right in front of me. I think I nearly died! Gotta give these guys credit though! I saw it happen to a few other people so these guys must be so on the ball to spot these turned heads and get there before you turn back round! I didn’t look over my shoulder again though!
The first bar we found, I got a cocktail, a bit of dutch courage! And Ross got a beer in a souvenir glass.

The next scare zone was Dead Man’s Walf in the San Francisco area. There was a huge sunken ship ghost and hoards of it’s undead crew wandering around. Lots of fog too, it made it very creepy! It was kind of like a slightly more modern version of Davy Jone’s crew from the Flying Dutchman with barnacles and things growing on their faces.

Then it was time to try a house. The first one we came across that one of us wanted to do was Halloween. It posted a 55 minute wait but we actually only waited 20. The queue went through the Barney/Fievel area and round backstage. We were behind a group of girls who were the biggest bitches ever. They started talking about how gutted they were that their friend couldn’t come that night, then one of them said something along the lines of ‘oh my god did you see that picture she posted yesterday’ then they proceeded to trawl through this ‘friend’s’ instagram slagging off every single photo. Total cows! If that’s how they treat their friends, I’d hate to see how they treated their enemies!

My notes then say ‘Pineapple Sacrifice Squad’ and it took me a while to work out what I was talking about! At one point in the queue when we were in a backstage area we saw a huge line of people walking towards the park. They were dressed in black cloaks with the hoods up, walking in a straight line and in total unison. It was super creepy but what was really really strange was the guy at the front was carrying a pineapple in his hands.
We came to the conclusion that either, it was a group of SAs moving to their scare zone or house and couldn’t show their costumes outside their designated area so they decided to do a little pineapple cult dress up to move around. Or, it was just something totally random for shiz and giggles!

So, the house. I can only tell you about two part of the house! The entrance, where you walk through a very narrow corridor which is like a wardrobe so you have rails of clothes either side. What was weird about that bit was you’d think that would be the perfect place for a scare, an arm reaching out through the clothes, but nothing! Wasn’t complaining at the time though.
And a long corridor, the wall to your left is burnt and there’s a few holes in the wall. You can see the fire on the other side, and Michael. He follows you down the corridor and you catch glimpses of him through these small holes but then suddenly the wall isn’t there and there’s nothing separating you and him. So of course he jumps towards you with his knife.
The rest of the walk round I had my hands over my eyes and I was buried into Ross’ side! Although I think I saw a nurse being murdered at one point. I’ve not watched the film so I didn’t get the references I saw. Ross is a big fan of the franchise and he loved the house, huge thumbs up from him! I was just pleased when it was over and I was still alive!

The next scare zone consisted of undead cheerleaders and jocks with chainsaws. It didn’t have a name as it wasn’t on the event map but it was in the Simpsons area.

Then onto The Lair of the Banshee scare zone. From memory this seemed to be full of strange and spooky woodland creatures and banshee ladies. There was a few characters on stilts here. It was very dark and very foggy! Super spooky.

The final scare zone which was in the Hollywood area was Vamp ’55. This one was lots of fun. It was a high school homecoming parade gone very wrong! It seems that the ‘vampire greasers’ came and attacked all the homecoming queens! There were a few big parade floats littered with bodies and the school bus.
Now that I had done a full lap I was actually enjoying myself! Who knew! It wasn’t nearly as scary as I thought it might be and it was so funny watching other people getting the scares.

The AHS house posted a 120 minute wait. We figured it probably wasn’t going to get any better so we decided to queue and hoped the wait time was exaggerated like Halloween was. It was! We only waited 35 minutes. And in the big warehouse type building we queued in had loads of screens up showing behind the scenes and information videos about the different houses and scare zones so there was something to keep us entertained.
Oh my god I loved this house! I promised myself I wouldn’t bury my head into Ross and I’d look at everything. Because I’d seen all of the series’ (including most of Hotel) I got all of the references and it was good predicting when the scares were going to come.
So the first series they did was Murder House. The burnt guy who’s name escapes me gave me a real scare, I actually screamed! The SA playing Tate (Tait? Whatever) actually looked the spitting image of Evan Peters! Very good make up skilllllz, impressive! We got jump scared by the pig (from the here piggy piggy mirror thing) from behind the shower curtain and the creepy maid, Moira in her young and old bodies. And the Meep type creature from the basement.
One part I remember seeing a line of mannequins in gimp suits and as soon as I saw it I thought, one of those is gonna jump for sure! Of course I was right, didn’t stop me jumping though!
Next was Freak Show which is my absolute favourite series! There was lots of Twisty the Clown scares in this part, with and without his mouth mask. There was one point where you were walking though a path between rows of gypsy caravans and the characters were jumping out at you like Legless Suzi and Pepper but the voiceover that came when pepper jumped out at you was a deep man’s voice! Very strange! Also there was a waxwork type figure of Elsa Mars but she had two heads like the twins? Don’t remember anything like that in the programme!
Last series was Hotel. There was a scare from a SA that was playing Lady Gaga’s character and again the make-up was amazing as she looked just like her! Then you walked through a room full of coffins with children lying in them and of course one of them sat up and gave me a little scare. James March was one of the scares too. Then one room there was just a bed in and the weird monster jumped up through the mattress and clawed at the bed.
The very last scene in the house was a corridor with a few corners and turns, there was nothing there just a few curtains and things and there was strobe lighting everywhere. Twisty the Clown was jumping out of every curtain and corner, he was everywhere! There must have been about 10 SAs dressed as Twisty in this last part it was great.
I was gutted when it was all over! Yes, I held onto Ross the entire time but not once did I shut my eyes or anything. I looked the whole way round and really enjoyed it! I was pumped full of adrenaline now.
The house itself was just excellent. The special effects were really well done and like I said earlier, even the SAs make-up was done in such a way that they really resembled the characters they were playing. All the references were spot on except Pepper’s voice and Elsa’s extra head and a lot of work had gone into all the scenes. They really pulled it off in my opinion.

Ross grabbed another beer in his souvenir glass and we had another lap of the scare zones with lots of jumps (from me, Ross doesn’t scare easily...or ever at all!) and stare downs with the SAs.
Ross fancied the Texas Chainsaw Massacre house but there was no way on this earth you were getting me in that house ever ever ever. No. Nope. Not really. Never. No.

We then made the biggest mistake of the night. We decided to queue for the Exorcist house as it posted a 60 minute wait and we figured if it went like the other two houses we’d be in in no time. We were so wrong! We ended up waiting an hour and a half in the worst snaking queue ever. It was just never ending! My back started killing me (I never used to get bad backs but childbirth has killed my body and I get them quite often if I’m on my feet too long) but then Ross’ back starting hurting too and he never gets bad backs!

When we were finally at the front and into the house, it started with the facade of the house in the film and you go through the front door. The first few corners there were a lot of curtain jumps from the possessed girl, who’s name escapes me (I have seen the film but not for a looooong time and can’t remember much!) then you entered the bedroom, the girl was lying on the bed which was rocking quite violently. The next scene was worst, it was the girl puking everywhere and you could hear sick noises and splatter noises, it was so gross! The noises lasted down the next corridor too. You also saw the priest doing the exorcism on her then a few jump scares from the dead priest.
The curtain leading to the exit was in sight and I could see the outside world again. The other two houses, once you were through the last curtain and you could see the outside that meant it was over and you were safe so naturally I relaxed and let my guard down but there was one last SA dressed as the girl behind that curtain who jumped out and gave me absolute heart failure! The scares in the houses and the scare zones were expected so I was prepared but this one really got me! Ross found it utterly hilarious, obviously.

Unfortunately both of our backs were done in from that queue and we really couldn’t last much longer (boy did we feel old and decrepit!) so we decided to do one last lap of the scare zones then call it a night. I was gutted, I really wasn’t ready to quit! I’d wanted to do some rides, see Diagon Alley in the dark and see more of the scare zones but I didn’t want to push it any further and risk having a bad back the entire time we’re in Disney.

In the cheerleaders and jocks with chainsaws scare zone we witnessed a jock sneak up behind this big muscley looking guy and rev his chainsaw right behind his knee. This guy does the girliest screem, jumps about two feet in the air and legs it with this jock running after him. Me and Ross were howling it was hilarious.
This idiotic girl went up to a cheerleader, right in her face with her arms outstretched and shouted ‘come at me, b**ch’. Why?! The SA hadn’t even tried to scare her, it was so random, unnecessary and aggressive! The SA told one of the security guys who went and had a word with the girl. Bet she thought she was being really big and clever, idiot!

Another idiot we saw was climbing on the hood of the Delorian so his mate could take his photo. There was no security or staff knocking about at the time unfortunately.

We spent a bit of time in the Vamp ’55 scare zone before heading out. We even asked one of the homecoming queens for a selfie. She stayed in character the whole time acting all confused like she’d never seen a mobile phone before.

And that was it. We left the park and headed back to the hotel. I was still hanging onto Ross, the path was dark and spooky and I was still on edge!
We fell into bed at 1:30am and switched our alarm off, which was a horrendous decision, knowing I’d likely not visit Gringotts or ride the Hogwarts Express again this trip.

A little after thought – I’d been toying with the idea of going to HHN for a long time but was too terrified to commit! And I really regret those doubts now! I wish we’d gone for rope drop, or even done two nights so we could get more done and spent longer there! I had the most fun I’ve ever had, so many laughs and giggles even when I was scared!
If you’re ever in doubt, unsure if you’re man enough, just go for it! Yes it’s a bit scary but it’s funny, heart pounding scary.
If I can do it, me, the biggest wuss in the world, anybody can!

Ice cream for breakfast and milkshakes for dinner, brilliant! I love holidays for this kind of thing. .

HNN sounds great fun but I know what you mean about the thought of it. I say I'll never do it but I know I'd probably have a great time if I did! xx

Great day! Can I ask a daft question? Are the milkshakes from toothsome emporium ice cream like the McDonalds type or are they milk? Random I know but I prefer the ice cream ones lol Also, how did you get the credit for the Hard Rock? I have just signed up to their rewards but don't see anything on the app or am I missing something? Thanks

Ice cream ones. Really thick and very yummy!

It was one that just appeared on my rewards, I think because I'd collected so many points I got the free voucher, I also had a priority seating one but haven't used it.

Those milkshakes 😋😋
I absolutely could not handle HHN. To be fair I haven’t seen a scary film since I saw the first twenty minutes of Saw about 12 year ago and my husband made us leave (a friend had taken us and we hadn’t researched what it was about). I think you were very brave!

HNN sounds great fun but I know what you mean about the thought of it. I say I'll never do it but I know I'd probably have a great time if I did! xx
Doesn’t matter what you eat when you’re on holiday! The place we are staying at in October has an all you can eat free ice cream parlour that opens at 7am, can’t imagine what we will be having for breakfast most mornings 🤷🏻😂
You should do HHN! If you get a child free trip that is, don’t think Libby would enjoy it too much 😱 xx

They were so yummy!

I think I was brave too 😂 I hate horror films so being immersed in them was terrifying but watching other people get scared was so funny. I’d do it all again in a heartbeat! I’d love to do it this year because they are having a Stranger Things house but it’s a no go since we will have the kids with us this time! Thanks for reading 😁
