I didn't see any but I wouldn't see a problem with that. It's chilled but not stuffy!

Non-alcoholic drinks?! Were you feeling ok?
No, I wasn't actually. I was feeling a bit heat stroked HAHA. It's the only explanation. I was back in full force the next day though.

Day 12 - 28th Sept: Let's Go Slurpin' - Typhoon Lagoon

We had snacky bits in the room for breakfast which isn't worth posting.

Later on in the afternoon it was back to prop up our favourite bar in WDW.

I'm not entirely sure what this was now - but it sure looks pretty.

If I had to guess I would say another Black Cherry Lemonade just a bit darker in colour.

Day 12 - 28th Sept: Tambu Lounge - Polynesian Resort

Once we'd finished riding the wave we took an Uber over to the Poly. It was still a bit early to start queuing to get into the GG so we headed upstairs to the Tambu Lounge.

Andy Partook in cider whilst I chose the Lapu Lapu (sans novelty pineapple)

Myers's Original Dark Rum and tropical fruit juices served in a fresh pineapple topped with Bacardi 151 Rum

Tastes good even out of a boring glass.

Day 12 - 28th Sept: Trader Sam's Grog Grotto - Polynesian Resort

At 3.45pm or somewhere near that we went and joined the queue for the Grog Grotto. I did a quick count and totted up 25-30ish people so I knew we would be getting in with the first group - yay!

I know people think it's crazy to queue but to me this was a vast improvement. When we first visited we were there an hour before opening, so to rock at with 15 minutes to go and get in was a big "woohoo!"

Andy still thinks i'm bonkers though!

When we were let in, we were able to score 2 seats at the bar which to me are some of the best seats in house as you get a front row view of all the drinks being prepared, which I find interesting.

To start Andy had an Ace Pineapple hard cider $9.

I had a sip & it was lovely.

Having amassed more than enough of the souvenir glasses, I picked something I had previously ignored because of the fact it came in plain "packaging".

Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Tiki Rum
Pyrat XO Reserve Rum, Cream of Coconut, and pineapple and orange juices dusted with cinnamon and nutmeg. $13

Good choice, it was delicious.

Now - you may have noticed that up until this point we haven't actually eaten any proper food and it was gone 4pm. It's actually quite amazing how little we can sometimes eat when not on the Dining Plan.

I was started to feel a little low on blood sugars so we ordered some bar food to share.

Pan-Fried Dumplings
with soy-sesame dipping sauce $9

Basially pot stickers (like the ones you get at 'Ohana). These were really good. Crispy wrappers but juicy on the inside, the dip was a nice salty kick too.

Kahlua Pork Tacos
with cabbage and pickled vegetables $10

Not the best picture due to the topping, sorry. Also really tasty, the pork was like that of my beloved Kahlua pork slider from Food & Wine festival. Andy scraped all the veg off and enjoyed them too.

Finally Corn-Battered Portuguese Sausages
with curry ketchup $9

These were like your regular corn dogs with a fancy dip. They were nice but Andy preferred them to me & ate the majority.

Finally we ordered the..

Nautilus!
Barbancourt Pango Rhum, Appleton Estate Reserve Tum, Combier Creme de Peche de Vigne Liqueur, Tropical Juices and Falernum. Served in a souvenir Nautilus for $55 (serves 2+)

Who was I kidding?! You can never have too many Trader Sams souvenir glasses. actually it was Andy that wanted this, I wasn't sure what the heck we would do with it once we had wrangled it home (and I was right, it's still just sat in it's box waiting for the perfect spot lol).

It is cute though & the drink was tasty.

Having been watered & somewhat fed we had to hustle to get to MK for a FP. I had another blast in the Grog Grotto & whilst Andy is happy to peg it as "done", I can't wait to go back all over again next time!

Day 12 - 28th Sept: Lite Bites (hotel shop) snacks - Rosen Inn at Pointe

On the way home that evening in an Uber, I had a right hankering for ice cream so we stopped by the hotel convenience store before heading up to the room.

Now I don't know what Andy got but that doesn't really matter because..

THIS

Looks fairly unassuming, yes?

Well it was a Nutella *stuffed* ice cream bar.

No review needed really as it was a NUTELLA stuffed ice cream bar!

Nutella stuffed ice cream?! OH MY WORD! Need!

I loved our time in the Grog Grotto. It's just so much fun The food you had looks decent too and not too crazily priced!

Day 13 - 29th Sept: In Room Breakfast - Rosen Inn at Pointe

Breakfast was nibbling on the last of the cookies we had and a couple of these.

I love iced coffee and these are great to have in the fridge. Like a small meal in a bottle but tasty.

Day 13 - 29th Sept: Bahama Breeze - I-Drive

The morning was mostly spent in Walmart buying stuff to take home such as Red Lobster biscuit mix, crisps, Oreos (the usual stuff).

We took an Uber from our hotel to the Walmart Super centre of Turkey Lake Rd. This cost $6.52 each way which isn't bad at all.

Anyway, once we'd bought the whole store we dumped the stuff back in our room and headed to Bahama Breeze.

We sat at the indoor bar area and ordered some drinks & snacks.

Ultimate Pina Colada

The bartender was a little over familiar and tried to tell me a few times I "didn't really want that", but I did so I ordered it and really enjoyed it. The swirl was a nice twist and the sweetened coconut flakes on top very tasty.

I appeased him on my second drink and let him make me "something I'd enjoy" that's not on the menu.

I said I liked sweet & fruity drinks. I think this had Midori in it, that's all I really know. To be fair to him, it was actually very nice and the same cost as most of the other cocktails on the menu (thankfully lol).

We hadn't planned to eat here but checked out the menu whilst sipping our drinks and I just really fancied this;

Crab Cakes
Maryland style super lump crab, served with cilantro-crema. $10.99

At first the food runner brought out a crab stack salad as the bartender had apparently put in the wrong order. At first he tried the "i'm sure that's what you ordered", erm no!

Then the, "are you sure you don't wanna keep that, I think it's better than the crab cakes", erm NO thanks!

He eventually gave in and re-placed the correct order.

Anyway, I have actually never tried crab before but have been wanting to. These seemed to pique my interest and were actually a hit. Really flavourful, not fishy in any way. There was quite a bit of red pepper in there so Any didn't really touch them.

We also got

Jamaican Chicken Wings
Marinated in authentic Jamaican jerk seasonings and served with crisp skin. $7.99

These were fab! Crispy, spicy skin & soft tender meat. Textbook chicken wings .

A lovely light lunch.

Day 13 - 29th Sept: Millers Ale House - I-Drive

This was supposed to be a quick stop for a pre-dinner drink but we ended up getting trapped in there due to TORRENTIAL rain. We had not seen a drop of rain in almost two weeks. It had been extremely humid thanks to the hurricane so it really was needed. It was pretty cool sitting on the (covered!) patio watching the heavens just pour & pour.

Anyway to drink I tried something new.

Rum Punch

Pretty! It was nice but fairly strong so I just sipped this slowly whilst waiting for a break in the rain.
