Toddler Trials sponsored by Timmies - Canada 2018 Day 3 Shopping, BBW & Family Time

Toddler Trials sponsored by Timmies - Canada 2018
Day 3 Shopping, BBW & Family Time

I’m Emily, my husband is Gary and this was our first overseas holiday with our 17 month Libby. We visited family near Toronto and spent a few days in Montreal too.

We woke up to clouds and rain this morning but it was soooo humid. I washed my hair and even after drying/straightening it I looked like Monica from friends when they go to Barbados .

Gary had bought a pancake box mix in Walmart when we went on day 1, so he made them for breakfast. I’m not usually one for box mix things like this but these were so so good.

After yesterday’s exciting day on safari, today was going to be a chilled one again.

We headed to a retail park at Ancaster, about 15 minutes away. I wanted to go to Michaels for a new planner and Gary wanted to go to Sport Check. He was a very good husband and entertained Libby while I spent almost an hour deciding! I love organising so picking a new planner and accessories is a big deal .

Happy Planner Mini

We also went to a children’s shop. Libby got some new clothes (obviously) and we picked up a Canada bib as Gary’s Uncle and partner had recently announced they’re expecting!

We went to Buffalo Wild Wings for an early lunch. I’d read about it in Florida trip reports on here and I knew Gary would like it.

Empty because it wasn't even midday yet!

We got a sampler platter and 16 boneless wings in 4 different flavours - Honey BBQ, Sweet BBQ, Parmesan & Buffalo. The sampler also came with another 4 wings and we got these in mild so that Libby could have some.

These were all amazing . Our favourite was the honey BBQ, delicious. Libby ate really well, her appetite had been a bit off since we arrived but she was definitely back to her normal self.

We gave her a fruit pouch for dessert after she’d filled up on chicken & onion rings.

After lunch we went to Home Sense and Marshall’s (Canadian TK max).

This sign confused us, we thought it was the equivelant of a child space but it said expectant mother which I most certainly wasn't! We asked Gary's aunt and she said it was a child space, you didn't have to be with child to park there.

We moved into our forever home 6 weeks before this trip and I was in my element in Home Sense! Wish I could have bought half the storm and shipped it all home.

I love this!

After Gary had torn me away from all the home items that I definitely could not fit in the luggage , we nipped over to Sobey’s. We were cooking dinner that night so had to get supplies. It was a Sobey’s Extra and we realised extra meant that it had an extra bit with amazing fresh food and deli type sections. Everything looked so good!

We got stuff for stir fry and picked up some mini desserts too.

On the way home, Libby fell asleep in the car. We stopped at Timmies for coffee (you didn’t think we weren’t getting one today did you ?!). We drove home and let Libby sleep for a bit in the car.

Once she woke up, we unpacked the car and covered Libby in sun cream so she could run around outside.

Desperate for some of Daddy's iced capp!
Libby's first coffee (just a tiny sip)

Gary’s cousin Damian, his girlfriend Claire and their 2 boys came for dinner. Sid and Christopher are 5 & 7. Libby loves other children, she’s a very sociable little thing so she loved playing with them . It was great catching up with Damian & Claire, we hadn't seen Damian since our wedding in March 2016.

Libby had an absolute ball but got verryyyyyyy over tired and wouldn’t go to sleep. She finally collapsed in bed at 8pm .

Thanks for reading!

I love planners too! I think an hour checking you are getting the right one is just about sufficient time! It sounds like another lovely day, not as exciting as the nappy safari experience from yesterday, but still lovely.

Those cakes look delicious! Another relaxing day - I love a bit of shopping in stores that we don’t have at home!

Glad Timmies got a look in

I now think I need a planner in my life. Is it a big time commitment though?

Sounds like a lovely relaxed day xx

For me its really just a more crafty diary! I'm old school and still really like a paper diary (although my boss is dragging me into the 21st century and One Note planning at work ). Planners just let me be a bit more creative and indulge my love of stationary haha! I use smaller sized ones too because I like to carry them around in my handbag, most proper planners have A5 size ones (well multiple ones) and they go all out lol!

I had to reply...I definitely have to be considered a proper planner LOL. I have an A5 planner for personal use and an A4 for work. I love writing and the stationery bits like little post it notes. This is way too nerdy but I also have lots of different pens and I'm very particular about which pens I use for which planner! I do have a calendar on my phone but it's not the same.

Sorry if it's too much information...

Lovely chilled day.

Can you tell me about the pink mat Libby has when eating her meals, please. As a Grannie of 3 I haven't seen one before but it looks handy

It’s just a baby feeding mat from Amazon, the branded ones are called ‘easymat’ and have little sections but this is just a cheaper version, it was only a few pounds. We gave her finger food quite quickly once we’d started weaning, so it was great to take with us when we’re out for her to eat off x
