Papillion are a good company and anybody I know that used them were very happy. Personally I used another company Scenic, which is owned by Papillon and they were also excellent. This was because I wanted to go to the South Rim.

You probably know all this but:
Any helicopter trip from Vegas only goes to the West Rim. South/North Rim is either a drive, bus tour or fixed wing flight.
Although anybody I know that visited the West Rim was happy with the experience, the South/North rims are the ones you know from any photographs you would have seen. West rim is substantially smaller. Anybody who has done both always rates the South/North rim far superior.
South/North rims is the Grand Canyon National Park, West rim is owned and operated by a local Indian tribe
I believe, but have not been personally, that the West rim is quite commercialized and even a tourist trap. You can't even take your own camera on the Skywalk, you have to buy the photos from them.
You can do a helicopter trip on the South/North rim also but due to restrictions from the National Parks authority they are now allowed fly below the rim. At the West rim you can even land on the ground and have a breakfast/lunch.
South/North rim is 18m wide and over a mile deep, West nowhere near

if seeing the GC is something you really want to do, find the time and do the South Rim trip. if it's just a nice excursion while in Vegas then the West rim will give you that. But there is no comparison

^^^^ Wot they said!

We did the fixed-wing tour to the South Rim. Best day ever. It's amazing. We flew over the West Rim and Skywalk on the way, definitely not in the same league.

We went to the West Rim with Papillion and couldn't fault them. I'd happily use them again, that said I've always heard good things from Maverick and Sundance too.

TBH scenery isn't my thing so the West Rim was ideal for us, its a spectacular sight but many prefer the South. I however would much rather be in Vegas than the Canyon so not willing to give up a full day..

Our west rim tour included landing on the Canyon for about 30 mins and then flying back down the strip.

We’ve flown over the Canyon 3 times with Maverick. We stayed in the National Park and drove out to the Grand Canyon Airport to fly - 10 to 15 minute drive. Each time we couldn’t fault them and did the longer tour.

Due to the early pickup on our South Rim tour we were back at our hotel by 1pm so still had half a day in the city
