We did the sunset west rim with Papillion. Think our pick up time from hotel (in a limo) was around 4pm. From memory we were back at the hotel by 8pm.

Landed, had a champagne picnic, then flew back over the strip in the dark. We loved it and are glad we booked before we went as we probably would chickened out otherwise (fear of helicopters) .

I’m sure we booked in April for our September trip.

I have been south rim three times west rim once if I had not been to the south rim would probably had enjoyed it as I had been to the south for me it was like flying to London and only going as far as Croydon I did not like it at all.

As an alternative to the helicopter, the rail journey from Flagstaff is fun and goes to the rim of the canyon on historic steam trains. Personally I think the noise of the helicopter detracts from the awesome views, and prefer walking along and standing quietly, enjoying the amazing view.
