Bahama Breeze » 8735 Vineland Avenue
Bahama Breeze We then decided to pop to Bahama Breeze for dinner. But the restaurant was really busy, and we didn’t want to wait for a table, so we just grabbed some take-out instead and took it back home to Animal Kingdom Lodge. Bahama Breeze is definitely one of our favourite off-site restaurants! We have been there so many times now we even have go-to favourites, making ordering really quick! Instead of our usual one in Kissimmee, we went to the Bahama Breeze on Vineland Avenue. I guess it must have been closer when Steve put it in the sat-nav! Starters... Us: Island Hopper Combo – A combination of Island favorites. Jamaican chicken wings, crispy coconut shrimp, onion rings and conch fritters. Served with citrus-mustard, jerk BBQ sauce and roasted pineapple chutney. ($19.99) Main Course... Me: Cuban Sandwich – Ham, roasted pork, Swiss cheese, pickles and mustard hot-pressed on Cuban bread. ($10.99) Him: Key West Fish Tacos – Flour tortillas filled with sautéed fish, tomato salsa, cabbage-jicama slaw and a side of guacamole. ($12.99) We both got a side of rice with black beans to go with. Dessert... Me: Banana Nut Bread Supreme – Sliced bananas, vanilla ice cream on warm banana nut bread with hot butterscotch brandy sauce. ($6.99) Him: Key Lime Pie – Our original. Handmade with brown sugar crust and golden meringue. ($6.99) All of the food was packaged really well – and we were also given disposable cutlery, napkins, and wipes which was all very handy (even though we had them back at home). Like I said, Bahama Breeze is one of our favourites, and we find the food always to be tasty. This evening was no exception, even though we did have to drive all the way home before we could tuck in! My dessert of choice is always the banana bread – it is DIVINE! ***********************************************
Bahama Breeze » 8735 Vineland Avenue Bill: $57.95 + Tax: $3.77 + Tip: $8.28 = $70 TiW Discount: $n/a _______________________________________________ Total paid: $70 ***********************************************

Toothsome Chocolate Emporium » Universal City Walk
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium » Universal City Walk We wanted to go to Toothsome Chocolate Emporium to try out one of their huge milkshakes, so that is exactly where we headed. To give it its full title, the Toothsome Chocolate Emporium & Savory Feast Kitchen is a steampunk themed restaurant, bar, and confectioners. We hadn’t realised you could eat there (we thought it was just milkshakes and desserts) so thought we’d try the food. But it was an hour wait, and we didn’t want to wait, so we stuck to our original plan of getting a milkshake! The restaurant is set at the back – I assume the bar is back there too. We didn’t go in there, as I said above so I won’t say anymore as I don’t know anything about it! The confectionery is at the front and you can buy chocolates, candy and all sorts of sweet treats here. Everything was set out beautifully and it looked amazing. We headed over to the counter to order our milkshakes and then found a table outside to sit at. We had about a 20 minute wait from when we ordered – but it was worth it! Look at these bad boys! And yes, we did get one each! (We should have shared!) As well as milkshakes you can also get ice cream sundaes and desserts like bread pudding and chocolate crème brûlée. Milkshakes... Me: Red Velvet – Vanilla ice cream, Red Velvet cupcake, raspberry sauce, rainbow sprinkles, fresh whipped cream, cherry ($12.50) Him: Heavenly Hazelnut – Nutella ice cream, hazelnuts, Nutella, cocoa powder, fresh whipped cream ($12.50) Not gonna lie, these shakes did get sickly towards the end, but oh, my days, they were gooood! I literally chose my flavour because it had a whole cupcake on top. I mean come on – a shake topped with whipped cream, sprinkles, a cupcake, more cream, and a cherry on top? What’s not to love about that?! Flavour wise, Steve’s shake was nicer than mine, because: Nutella *drools* ***********************************************
Toothsome Chocolate Emporium, Universal City Walk Bill: $25 + Tax: $1.63 + Tip: $26.63 = TiW Discount: $N/A _______________________________________________ Total paid: $26.63 ***********************************************

Bahama Breeze, 8160 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway
Bahama Breeze, 8160 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway Our day ended with us grabbing some take-out dinner from Bahama Breeze (again!) This time we went to our regular restaurant on W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway. Animal Kingdom is near to Sherberth Road which is a cut through to the 192, making it really quick to nip here and grab take out. Starters... Me: Firecracker Shrimp – Buttermilk battered and crispy fried with Sriracha aioli. ($10.99) Him: Conch Fritters – Original Key West-inspired recipe. ($5.99) Main Course... Me: Applewood Bacon & Cheddar Burger – Applewood-smoked bacon, melted cheddar cheese, crisp pickle slices, vine-ripened tomato, shaved red onions, Bibb lettuce, on a toasted brioche bun ($11.29) with Caesar Salad – Crisp romaine, classic Caesar dressing, croutons and Parmesan cheese. ($5.49) Him: Black Bean BBQ Burger – Glazed with our signature guava BBQ sauce and served with melted pepper jack cheese, guacamole, vine-ripened tomato and Bibb lettuce on a toasted brioche bun. ($11.29) with Bahamian Seafood Chowder Bowl – Classic creamy chowder with shellfish and vegetables. ($5.49) *********************************************** Bahama Breeze, 8160 W. Irlo Bronson Memorial Highway Bill: $50.54 + Tax: $3.54 + Tip: $8.92 = TiW Discount: $n/a _______________________________________________ Total paid: $63 *********************************************** As I said, we ordered food to take home to our resort – Bahama Breeze supply everything you need – napkins, cutlery etc, and we have found that they package the food up really well so it’s not all falling apart by the time you get home. Normally we would eat in, but we were too shattered to bother! Food is always good in our experience. Looking back I’m surprised I went for a burger as I don’t often order one. The firecracker shrimp though – yum! – my favourite! We clearly avoided dessert since we had sugar overload earlier in the day with those milkshakes!
