We went down to the pool for a few hours in the afternoon and I ordered a cocktail - I went for a Kontiki diaquiri - rum, strawberry and peach purée, grand mariner peach floater. I also get the keep the plastic glass. 85DC44C0-3F5B-4CC9-BAC1-F8616F3206B4 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan had a O’douls alcohol free beer D3ABA9E8-82BE-46B6-A595-70FF45E9BCD4 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr My cocktail was tasty and very generous with the booze - I’d give it 8/10 Dan also enjoyed his beer - alcohol free beer is always hit and miss but he said this was ok - 7/10 |

Day 7 - Hard Rock Cafe
We’ve been here before a few times and the food has just been ok - bit of a gimmick but we thought we’d give it another go. 7D872F6E-7BF9-4E35-848D-ADF1CB997C42 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr I went for the Pulled pork sandwich and asked for Guiness cheese fries instead of plain. The sandwich comes with coleslaw and has apples on the base - this was a great choice as the apples give the pork just the right amount of sweetness and acidity and the meal was actually really tasty - the fries were a little salty but tasty with the cheese sauce and the only part which was a bit meh was the beans. I’d give a 8/10 658B64AC-1369-4CE5-9BC1-15C7A0E14255 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 729E58B7-466F-48D7-A482-47324B27589C by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan here. I decided to have the same as Maria minus the apple and coleslaw. The bun was loaded with pulled pork. The pork was flavoursome and good quality. Mixed in with the delicious cheesy Guinness fries: a great combo. The beans were a weak point, so skipped them. A solid 7/10. Nice choices! The Publix bits look really nice, a nice change. I can’t make my mind up about the maple bacon bar... I think we’ll get it anyway because they’re so reasonably priced but really don’t know if I’ll like it or not.
The look on your voodoo mans face... 😂🤣😂

Day 8 - Polite Pig - Disney Springs
We got up later today and skipped breakfast, we wanted to go to the cinema but the AMC at citywalk is being refurbed into a Cinemax so we headed to Disney Springs. We move over to the Boardwalk inn hotel on Monday so this was already on the to-do list. If you order a main you get a side by default, you can also swop out the coleslaw for another side which is what we both did. I ordered coffee rub beef brisket with sweet potato tater tots and Parmesan and grilled street corn, which is sweetcorn cobs with chipotle aioli - it also came with jalapeño cornbread. I also ordered a Gideon cookie for my cinema treat Dan also got Beef brisket but ordered waffle fries and mac and cheese for his sides - he also got jalapeño bread 35EB0157-C024-4096-AB17-DD63961DBF79 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr EDBE08D6-600F-41A9-AA93-3ADD7B5CADB0 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 736A277F-12BF-4C6E-BF4B-F0D19CEC29C2 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 418C6D76-8BF2-4A10-9B9B-AD7DD5694DA6 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 83D19C5B-45D1-4D26-8547-8C771F9D2BBA by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 2A639346-9E05-42B5-A879-CE8D49F9DC72 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 01745FC8-9712-4E11-992D-F613A515AB24 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr In my opinion this was one of the best meals we’ve had so far, the brisket had a lovely flavour and was melt in the mouth, the corn and tots also really tasty. The cookie was huge and I couldn’t finish it - it tasted fantastic and was soft there was a salty aftertaste which went great against the sweet chocolate chips. - I’d definitely recommend this place 9/10 Dan here. I concur with Maria, this was one of the best new meals we have had so far on this trip. The brisket was delicious and just fell apart. The first really good mac & cheese with awesome waffle fries. Such a great meal. A well deserved 9/10, just be prepared to be stuffed. Servings are HUGE! Total came to $63 (but $8 of that was my cookie and we both also got Diet Coke from the drinks fountain) |

Day 8 - Room service - Pizza
We relaxed in the evening after our day at Disney springs and had the intention of heading to Citywalk for an evening meal. Unfortunately an long and relentless storm came along which dampened our plans so we decided to stay put in our room and order in. As we ordered after 10pm (we were waiting to see if the storm would pass) the menu has items on it that you cannot get in the daytime such as burgers, spaghettti, club sandwiches and pizzas 🍕 We ordered a 12 inch pizza to share and got ham and pineapple toppings.
