Day 9 - HHN Snacks - Fudge dipped waffle with nuts
I managed to try one HHN snack tonight (will try harder on Sunday) It was also 35c at one point so I wasn’t much in the mood for alcohol just hydration. I ordered a fudge dipped waffle which is a waffle on a stick which is then covered in chocolate and nuts. 20077FDE-71A9-4D1E-A7EB-39D88A168545 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Bit of a weird texture to this - felt like I was biting a marshmallow not a waffle, it was tasty but quite heavy - nothing special about it though - it gets a 7/10 and was around $7 |

Day 10 - Keke’s Breakfast
We met up with some of our friends who are also on holiday this morning and Keke’s was a no brainer as it was central to us all. I ordered 2 chocolate chip pancakes - and forgot for a moment that I am in USA so that doesn’t mean 2 little pancakes but two absolutely massive frisbee sized pancakes F8F49251-AC5A-4558-8BE7-FFBCEDB61D6C by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan ordered a two egg toasted sandwich 🥪 it was literally two eggs on toast but Dan said it was delicious and just what he wanted 7CD1EDA8-1E0A-4781-ABC8-71ACAEB7EE14 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Our friends ordered eggs Benedict and Banana waffles 04D2AA8B-F9DE-49FE-82C3-9C584DCD21A6 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr It came to $50 and again was delicious - we’d give it a good 8/10 - Dan would like to add that even though the meal was simple it was one of the best meals he has add whilst he is here (because it’s easy to make something simple otherwise complicated) Keke’s is becoming a place that we will visit each trip. |

Day 10 - Publix lunch
As we were at Keke’s again in the morning and Publix is right next door, we decided to get another light lunch. We were also having a relaxing day after HHN last night so this was ideal. We got a sandwich each, and a smaller apple/cheese/pretzel snack pack, some fruit, crisps as well as some mint chocolate Ghiradelli 20E79826-F642-444D-87E0-354E40781452 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 3F6B1364-CAC6-4399-BB02-4BE61493895F by MARIA PASS, on Flickr C916AA65-A660-453F-B98C-31406618B9D1 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr B46F7DAC-D1F5-425C-8EB4-39EADA7E24BA by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 4AF331A4-0E1A-4CA0-8764-7D7BD8CC6219 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr A81B467A-0145-4C46-B202-5E85D4A8CA69 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr The meal was really nice as it was semi healthy and if you like after eights I’d definitely recommend the Ghiradelli chocolate mint squares as they’re like after eights on crack. |

Day 10 - Cowfish
We decided to go back to Cowfish for one last time on this trip. We went to the counter and were given a 25 minute wait time to come back. We received a text 25 minutes later as promised and made our way to the restaurant. I ordered a cocktail - Ruby Panther and a Diet Coke 67063D59-61BD-4C1D-B5B6-D9F74301A45E by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 473BED32-8A06-4EE0-82D9-E7221A38A520 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr It was yummy, really citrusy but didn’t taste alcoholic (it was though as I could feel the effects shortly after ) Dan ordered a O’douls lager (This is the low alcohol beer as he’s on medication) DE5DE043-9405-4DB3-A701-252277A4A30A by MARIA PASS, on Flickr For food I ordered a Hoisin burger - this is a burger patty with short rib meat on top, hoisin sauce, pickled red onion, cucumbers in a brioche bun - it was amazing the best burger I’ve had so far - the hoisin was sticky sweet, rib meat tender and burger cooked perfectly - getting hungry thinking about it now. 25405B4B-B7E7-447D-AFED-7EF86391A410 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 90D0F9CA-4881-4014-BFB5-C8416095B9ED by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan ordered his usual C.B.C.L.T but without the salad or sauce so a C.B.C really F5609035-1973-4D9F-AE89-D868911BB241 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan enjoyed his burger and said it was perfect but his fries were a bit hard - we’ve never had this problem before with Cowfish - Dan gives the meal a 7/10 as the fries let it down slightly - I would however give it 9/10 It was scrummy - bill came to $67 |

Mmm the hoisin burger is my (very close) 2nd favourite after The Big Squeal! Delicious! Shame about Dan’s fries though.

Day 11 - Leaky Cauldron
We skipped breakfast this morning as we were still full from last nights tea, we were starving by the time we got to the Leaky Cauldron and hoped to get served quickly. There was a proper mess up at the tills though, we were behind another couple and the server just walked away and didn’t come back, we tried to get the attention of the other servers but they were trying their best to ignore us and several people in the queues parallel to us were being served and seated straight away - eventually we got the attention of someone after about 15 minutes and someone came along to serve us and the couple in front - never had this problem before but was also a bit perturbed that we didn’t get an apology. We couldn’t join another queue as you get placed in specific queues and would have been technically pushing in front of someone in their queue. Anyway we gave our order which was ... Fizzy orange for Dan (it has a fancy name but I cannot remember it) this came with a cinnamon sugar rim and was tasty - Dan doesn’t like cinnamon but said this was ok as it was mild. 4B6C4E9A-7C1D-44B9-B433-C9D17D5BF209 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr I ordered a tangy lemon drink (once again it has a fancy name but didn’t catch it) the drink was really refreshing and was like fresh lemonade with a sherbet aftertaste. 3C3C3834-AE98-4A07-BAA7-870FC9D3E70B by MARIA PASS, on Flickr For food Dan ordered a kids meal which was mac and cheese with wedges - Dan said that this was the best mac and cheese so far and however the wedges were quite salty (as most of our food has been this trip) he gives the meal 6/10 would have been a 7 if the service hadn’t been so bad 12281388-5392-4976-8B74-E4E65ACC0C51 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr I ordered a banger sandwich which came with wedges, the sausage had a mustard sauce and caramelised onions on top - there was too much onion on the sausage but it tasted ok once I’d taken the majority off E33081C1-7B69-4B1B-B874-0C1E3637781A by MARIA PASS, on Flickr A1361FF0-BD37-4C5D-8186-FDB837A2FF45 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr I also ordered a butterbeer cream - this was quite sickly and had a bit of a gloopy texture - I wouldn’t get it again. Overall I’d give it a 6/10 for the same reasons as Dan - poor service E60A5A27-D4D9-48B2-A670-4992BEB602BA by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 6BA04D77-2741-413C-8047-D847090D461B by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Total meal came to $49 |

Day 11 - Florian Fortiscues
It was another hot night during HHN - we managed to do 7 houses which was a huge contrast to the other day. We went to cool down in knockturn alley and decided that an ice cream would do the trick I ordered a soft serve strawberry D56A0A01-076D-45C8-BC3B-2B1C331214AE by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan ordered a hard pack chocolate and caramel blondie 75C0CC8C-AD09-4525-938A-BB1B75171790 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Both were delicious and we will always recommend Florian Fortiscues - it came to around $11 and we’d give it a 8/10 |
