Day 16 - Mickey’s not so scary Halloween party treats
We had a reservation for Be our guest but decided we were having so much fun and wanted to try the sweet options on the Halloween night menu that we cancelled. Maleficient Ice Cream The Maleficient ice cream is found at Storybook treats near It’s a small world, with chocolate horns a cone and a lime ice cream it really tasted more like a sorbet and wasn’t very creamy at all, it was nice with the chocolate horns and tasted like the chocolate lime sweets you can get but the flavour was tangy and a bit overwhelming after a bit - very refreshing through - was around $6 01EF8440-89BC-4477-99D2-60D94A7BE89B by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Worms and Dirt This can be found at Peco’s Bills, this was really nice however it was considerably smaller than it looks on the posters - we’ve put it next to a phone to show the scale - was yummy though and was $4.49 79392A09-BAEB-40F6-BA35-793AE08E838E by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 1EF8BA9A-7F9D-4DD3-9699-D0FA3D139561 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Strawberry Lemonade Slushie Wanting a refreshing drink there is a seasonal slushie on the menu at Peco’s bills which is a strawberry lemonade slushy - this was $6 and unfortunately just tasted of lemon - it was very sweet and tangy and wouldn’t get it again 02495B90-AD87-4B2F-8BDF-1470B0CC5ADE by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Not so Poison Apple Cupcake This can be found at the Main Street bakery and is a apple cinnamon cupcake with a pecan apple pie filling and cinnamon glaze on top - it was delicious but with a cinnamon being the main taste - it is also huge - couldn’t get through 1/2 and it had tonnes of butter cream on it - was £6.99 but worth it 954E39C0-A604-46B0-AD6A-4360E471F949 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr AF18163A-CD47-454F-99B3-E2CF0916499F by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Our sweets haul We managed to get a good haul tonight, also played the system a bit and went through the good spots a couple of times Heres what we managed to get 6C5105A2-83CA-4180-A22C-19B7CFCF1364 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Overall a great night and I would highly recommend a visit to MNSSHP |

Had a binge read of this and feel slightly crazy after reading all the lovely food to be commenting on the introduction to a Brookie! I can’t believe we have never had one before, I told my daughter they exist and she needs to remember she’ll need one when we get back to Universal. You have made me want to order room service there too, the pineapple pancakes for breakfast looked my favourite. I agree with you on the Voodoo doughnut it just seemed to be the best of the bunch we tried too. I’m impressed you managed to do all the houses at HHN.
Poor Disney doesn’t seem to be doing as well with the meals, definitely no need for rudeness either! Your poor toes, I hope they are better. I like your MNSSHP haul your snack treats looked great too. Looking forward to the rest of your trip. |

Day 17 - Sci-Fi Diner - Hollywood Studios
I had been trying to get a reservation here for lunch for the past two visits and never succeeded so I was really happy to get this one. The reservation was at 1:10pm so I made sure that we didn’t eat in the morning so that we were hungry. We waited no more than 5 minutes to be seated but there were loads of people waiting for standby tables. The theming in here is brilliant, the theme is based on a drive in outside cinema and you sit at your table in the excellently themed 50’s vehicles whilst vintage sci-fi clips and cartoons are played on the cinema screen. 4369F47E-49D4-4A0C-B85C-371247E11E08 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Here’s the menu - its pretty dark in here so you may not be able to make it out 053C7ED2-70A3-46A1-A035-DA15A39739CC by MARIA PASS, on Flickr We both ordered chocolate milkshakes for a drink with water on the side. 81582F14-6607-42E5-81AB-0801273F6F94 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr The milkshakes were yummy and not too heavy or overly sweet. For my main I ordered the Sci Fi seasonal speciality burger which was a beef patty, fried green tomato’s, pimento cheese, lettuce, bacon and a delicious sauce, This came with fries. The burger was delicious, moist and the green tomato’s really worked with the pimento cheese, the fries here are chunky and seasoned well - more like a chip shop chip but with pepper on it as well as salt. I would give my meal 8/10 4D8EEC1B-E2AA-45A9-A67E-FD19DA15CD6D by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan ordered the classic cheese burger minus the salad, he said that his burger was juicy, flavourful and just what he needed - he gives his meal a 7/10 511E9487-E149-4311-BD8F-6EC0E77AD6C0 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Bill came to around $50 before tip and we would recommend |

Day 17 - Art Smiths Homecomin
When booking this restaurant I had heard many excellent reviews and found it hard to find a bad one - and now I know why - the food here is incredible - if you want some delicious southern comfort food which is cooked well and flavoursome dont delay as reservations are hard to come by here for a good reason To start I ordered a cocktail - The Apple Pie A’la Mode - Ole Smokey Apple Pie Moonshine, vanilla vodka, apple juice, cinnamon, house-made simple syrup and a dash of lemon - this was really nice - super strong though and I’m glad it had ice in it as it watered it down nicely the more I drank. 0C0A6663-FCCA-486C-9932-D7E08B78F62D by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan had an O’Doules non alcoholic lager 7075CDD7-3FF6-4B5D-9B09-CD18A25129E2 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr For my entree I ordered the Fried Chicken & Doughnuts - Two pieces of Chef Art Smith's famous fried chicken served with house-made sugar doughnuts and creamy mashed potatoes, I also ordered a side of Mac and cheese - Now this was amazing the chicken was moist and coated in a really tasty spicy fried batter, the mash was the best mash I have ever eaten - buttery, creamy and just perfect, the doughnuts were soft and had a cinnamon sugar taste and the mac and cheese was just wow - was creamy, cheesy and had a mound of cheese on top - every time you picked some up you got a fantastic cheesepull 2CDE5B1B-954E-4332-99CB-7834C033A894 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr 9DE4B477-B0C1-4123-95C6-4BE9A5402550 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan ordered the Chopped Pork Barbecue Plate Dressed with HFK sweet and spicy barbecue sauce served with Momma's mac and cheese and a cheddar drop biscuit, Dan said it was delicious and the best meal that we have eaten on the entire holiday, the pork was coated in the perfect sweet and spicy bbq sauce and was cooked low and slow, it was fantastic and pulled apart and melted in the mouth, the cheddar drop biscuit was crunchy and delicious and the mac and cheese amazing, he wanted to eat it all but just couldn’t fit it in. 70CF5335-8008-4FFE-9D58-878A4F42A407 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr We must also mention the service here - everyone was so friendly from check in to the front of house to the service and they all made an effort to make sure we were happy, the service was also not rushed and the decoration comfortable and welcoming - It’s a first but this meal gets 10/10 from us both - if we can get another reservation we’ll go back - if not we’ll definitely be back on our next trip. Bill came to £81. Edited at 07:39 PM. |

Day 17 - Amorettes Patisserie
Following our epic meal at Art Smiths we couldn’t fit dessert in but decided to grab some cakes from Amorettes and eat them at the hotel when we had some more room. As you walk into Amorettes you can see the bakers decorating the cakes and there is a display of savoury sandwiches, sweet and Savory crepes and then the patisserie counter. F4EFBEDB-7287-4838-B428-2567638185E6 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr I ordered a Mickey Mouse which is Chocolate Chiffon Cake, Dark Chocolate Mousse and White Chocolate Mousse in a mirror glacé with Chocolate Mickey ears and tail, This was lovely, the main taste was milk chocolate though as the white chocolate mousse flavour didn’t fully come through- I only ate half as I bought 2 items to try 2AE1ACC0-CB32-4400-9770-3E554B63F5B7 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr FFECAD44-C609-46A1-9FA7-8F31E9F0169D by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Next up was the Sunset on mile marker - Key lime tart - this was a lime tart with Chantilly and Baked Meringue - this was tangy but also delicious and light - the meringue was so yummy I could of ate a bowl of just that. 48609769-6717-48AB-A8FF-4DD382B759A0 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Dan ordered the Avant Garde which was chocolate mousse, Chocolate Chiffon Cake and Chocolate Crumble - Dan said this this was rich with dark chocolate, more of a mousse than a cake and was delicious 90C7A790-8DBA-4B03-967C-00AD4AF9BF22 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr Overall we’d give these cakes a 9/10 - Bill was $27 so expensive but really good |

Day 18 -Starbucks Celebration
We went for a walk around Celebration this morning and popped into the Starbucks on in the town centre for some breakfast. We both ordered the double smoked, bacon, egg and cheddar sandwich - this was nice, just usual starbucks standard fare, Dan also got a latte. Total came to £14 ish -overall a 6/10 6D4859F0-BD92-4502-9669-85F72DC88E70 by MARIA PASS, on Flickr |
