The food and review from the Palms looks excellent.
I saw a Keke's on the way to Mall @ Millenia this morning, but no, can't fit it in this trip. We have Chef Art Smiths brunch tomorrow then we transfer to Disney on Monday and we will be eating onsite the whole time as we have the dining plan.

Day 6: Cheesecake Factory

Breakfast today was a cereal bar and cup of tea in the room. We felt a little bit delicate after having wine last night, but we were ready at 10am for our trip to the Mall@Millenia and we took one of the hotel cars over.

Our day out included our first trip to the Cheesecake Factory and I was beyond excited about that. I know the restaurant can get busy so I decided we would eat early and didnt let Nev (who loves to shop) wander too far away from it.

At 11:40am I could wait no longer so we went in, I wanted a booth, they said it would be a ten to fifteen minute wait for a booth (they were all empty but they had no servers on the section). I decided to wait so we took the buzzer and sat down. We were buzzed and taken to our table within the given time frame.

I had read / seen how large the portions are so we decided to stick to small plates and appetisers. We selected two small plates being the Korean fried cauliflower and the crispy brussels sprouts. We also had two appetisers; roadside sliders with jack cheese and chicken quesadilla. To drink we had diet cokes.

We thought that this was just about the right amount of food. I had thought about getting an appetiser size mac and cheese as well, but that really would have been too much so I am glad we didn't get it. We had asked our server and he said it would be too much.

We thought the best looking dish was the Korean cauliflower in the first photo. However it was our least favourite and we probably only got through about half of it. The cauliflower still has the right bite to it, but it was overpowered by the sauce which was a little spicy but was too sweet.

The brussel sprouts on the other hand were a huge hit and we were fighting over them. . I know they are not to everyone's taste but we love them and often have them deep fried at home.

We were both taken aback by the rather informal appearance of the sliders. It was one of those times when appearance was misleading though, as they were absolutely gorgeous. I can't even explain why this was so, but it was and we agreed 100 percent on that.

I thought the quesadilla was lovely too, Nev said it "was nice" so not quite as enthusiastic as me, however quesadilla is not something he would generally pick for himself and we chose these mainly for me.

Obviously we could not leave without a cheesecake and selected one each to go. I picked the lemon meringue cheesecake, combining a couple of my favourite desserts there. Nev had a much harder time making up his mind but eventually settled upon the chocolate hazelnut crunch.

We are now back at the hotel and sadly, after carrying them around the mall for a little longer, the meringue on my cheesecake has melted and Nev's has toppled over. I am glad I unpacked them to photo whilst we were still in the restaurant. At the time of writing we have both had a forkful or two of our cheesecake and so far so delicious. We will be eating them slowly over the rest of the day I think.

Overall a very solid 8 for the Cheesecake Factory.

Day 6: Jakes American Bar

We didn't plan on doing anything but work our way through cheesecske last night, but I decided I would like something small and savoury so we decided to pop into Jakes American Bar, located on the lower floor of the hotel, for a very quick drink and bite.

I was on the Sauvignon again and Nev had a local IPA. To eat we ordered the "Fly boy beef & cheese fries" and crispy calamari to share.

We haven't had fries in this style before and ordered to some extent out of curiosity. I don't think it will become a "thing" for us. Nev says he will stick to just having salt with his fries. The cheese was like melted kraft cheese slices and essentially formed a soup for the chips to swim in whilst the beef was dry. The calamari was acceptable, nothing to enthuse about but also no complaints.

Overall a bit disappointing and rated a 5 from us.

Wow your meal at the Palm looked good, thats 2 great reports back to back I've read.

Your meal at the Cheesecake Factory looks good, I'm torn between there and a breakfast at Kekes in our April trip, I've never been to either.

I think the Cheescake Factory will be a must for us every trip from now on. It would take years to work our way through everything I like the look of on their menu.
