SeaWorld has worked out well, 2 visits there and 2 to Aquatica from the tickets and it's been decent value apart from the crisps. I love trying weird and wonderful things nice to find an outlet to share them through
Eddie V's review to follow later I wouldn't say posh folk but definitely plenty of money in the room it's a blingy kind of place isn't it On the list for next time, thanks for the tip Yuk although that could probably happen here because Lays are almost identical to Walkers (both made by FritoLay). Still No such issues at Perkins I just wished we'd got something to go, maybe tomorrow I could live on those pretzel nuggets, if DD had been here there'd have been a fight for them and probably the order of a second tray Church Street was good, wasn't expecting it TBH and it looked nice for a beer outside (maybe not after 11pm though) Re-reading that takes stamina, respect Thankfully this one is more of a 6 day snack size and won't take up quite so much space at DIBB HQ And how could you forget Trevor! The Admiral is due to make a cameo actually in the next day or so - will see if anyone spots him Texas de Brazil is booked for tomorrow but it may not survive, we'll see mmm Perkins Thank you for all the comments, I could just eat a free sugar cookie now We're having a great time although will be back at work before we know it, tomorrow is travel home day Yes it has felt mixed this year, I try to be critical when needed and give out the praise too. Right, need to start working on the Eddie V's update Cheers to everyone who has read, posted, liked etc. so far.

Dinner - Eddie V's Prime Seafood Well this place certainly looked fancy from the outside. You know you can tell a restaurant is aspiring to $$$ when they have one of those shaded areas outside as if they're expecting Jay-Z and Beyonce to suddenly drop in for a plate of whelks Inside this place is dark. I mean really dark, Count Dracula would book it for a birthday party. We stayed close to our server and relied on echo-location to find our table near the window where the last of the light was disappearing with the setting sun. We considered the menu Seriously in the poor light why would you make a menu in a tiny font of a colour that blended with the paper. Literally every table was using the light on their phone to read it. Tenth Avenue North could have been at the next table and we wouldn't have seen them. As we were choosing some bread appeared on the table. This was a lovely warm sourdough with a brute of a crust that demanded respect. Nice butter too, flecked with salt and something else I couldn't identify in the gloom. DW ordered her usual Jamesons and Diet Coke, I stuck to chilled water after the (strong) beers from earlier. For starters she opted for three different oysters - the varieties were recommended by our server on the basis of her not liking too heavy a brine taste. From the receipt they were Chincoteague, Savage Blondes and Honeymoon. These disappeared rapidly and were pronounced very good. We had a bit of debate about if she was having 3 more and I won so she didn't (a VERY expensive main having been ordered by this point ) My appetiser was lobster bisque for the second night in a row. The soup was tasty and edged out the one from Kres Chophouse. The best bits were at the bottom where a soup soaked slice of brioche was lovely and also there was a (shelled) lobster claw in there Now at this point things started to get irritating. I hadn't really noticed it but there was a drunk father at the next table with his family and he was steadily getting louder and more obnoxious through the evening. A bunch of older ladies had drowned him out for me (DW was already tuned in) but as soon as they left all I could hear too was this spanner Then our mains came, or DW's did. My order of swordfish had been heard as 'sole fish' by the server who gave me a plate of parmesan encrusted sole (described as that on the menu). Okay he misheard me with a British accent etc. and apologies but why take the chance when what he thought I said didn't match the name of the dish... Anyway DW had gone for a very pricey surf and turf dish, a lobster tail with an 8oz filet mignon at close to $100 To be fair this is one of the reasons we tried the deluxe dining plan last year because she's a liability for this sort of high priced dish and we wanted to see if the DxDDP was cost effective - spoiler, it wasn't) Anyway it was great. The lobster tail was the best we've ever had and thankfully she shared this and a lot of the steak with me. DW didn't like the steak as much, declaring it too charred on the outside. It wasn't as nice as the filet from Kres but it was still pretty good and we took a bit of it home to finish in sliders the next day. About 15 minutes later my swordfish emerged from the darkness. This was served with crab and avocado, pink grapefruit, some chilli. It was all very good, nice pieces of fish well prepared and good accompaniments. That's a googled photo of the dish because I forgot to capture it in my eagerness when it finally arrived Also pictured my steamed spinach side with parmesan and garlic, this was good too. DW would have gone for a dessert, there was a great sounding Godiva Chocolate cake but I wanted away from the gobby muppet at the next table (in the dark he couldn't even see everyone glaring at him). So we ended up with the bill instead and a failed attempt to buy doughnuts on the way home. This came to $176 so was the most expensive meal of the holiday by about $10 and for probably the least ordered overall. The food quality was excellent though. If I compare this to Disney's Narcoossee's from last year, that came in at $266 for 3 people so the per head cost was almost identical with more ordered at the Disney restaurant (but Eddie's we had one super-pricey entree). The food overall I would call a draw, the restaurant atmosphere and service I have to give to Narcoossee's based on our experience. So much to my surprise for the second time out of 3 the fine dining result has gone to a Disney signature I was not expecting that at all I have compared them to some of the best though, both Kres and Eddie's would have beaten for example Le Cellier and also the prices will have gone up the usual 5-10% at Disney since last year! That's it for tonight, next meal is breakfast at Hash House a Go Go.

It sure looks a nice place from the outside, perhaps that's where they spent all the money and couldn't afford to buy light fixtures inside 😄
Fish isn't my area of expertise, unless it's fish, chips and mushy peas! Glad you both enjoyed it, other dining guests aside! |

The lobster looks amazing , not quite sure about the price though 😱 . I’ve never had oysters so I’m going to try them at the boathouse this year . No idea what I’ll be picking so I’ll leave it to the server sad it’s ending soon

Mmm I'm not that into fish either but have a few things I enjoy. Fish and chips takes some beating though (not in America of course ). They needed little menu lamps or something that you could turn on when you needed them!
Thanks for following along and glad you're enjoying It was tasty like you wouldn't believe, can see where the price came from but still, The Boathouse is great but remember not to let them mess you round with the the seating if it's rammed because there is a risk they will take the michael and keep you waiting forever even with a reservation, give you the worst table etc. if you don't stand up for yourself. Oysters for me are nasty slimy things belong in the sea. Supposedly once you get through the revulsion stage they become quite nice - I might have to try and manage this next time. Looking forward to your trippie if you're going to write one You will love the Yacht Club I'm sure! Need to get breakfast posted up now as at my 3 meals behind limit

Breakfast - Hash House a Go Go The one breakfast we had booked before arriving was at Hash House a Go Go. This is a chain but there's only one in Orlando I believe and it serves 'twisted farm food' basically massive portions of daft breakfast stuff so right up my street and not so much DW's. I took a quick picture of the dinner menu on the way in Portions here are notoriously massive. Inside there's a slight tractor fetish going on but it is a beautifully done out dining room, lots of black and matt steel/aluminium surfaces and obviously very well maintained, they even had a member of staff picking litter in the car park as we left at about 9am. It only opened at 8 and when we arrived at 07:50 it was all locked up and I wondered if the 8am reservation was a screw-up but thankfully we waited and they opened on time Anyway here's the brunch menu which they use as breakfast and serve all day. fancy Fried chicken feat. SeaWorld dude's knife There's some ridiculous dishes on here. I considered them all and struggled to make a selection Meantime we ordered tea and coffee. The coffee was decent but pictured above is DW's tea. This was by all accounts amazing the best tea she's had in America. We asked and the tea and coffee are both from a company called Peerless in California and they are quality stuff which says good things about the approach this restaurant has to sourcing good ingredients. We'll keep an eye out for their teas next trip, maybe Publix might carry it. By now I'd just about managed to select a breakfast item. DW found it a lot easier and we recovered a few $ of last night's splurge with a 2 side order breakfast of egg and chips One of the eggs was a little overdone, the chips were good - coated in a cajun spice, like a lighter version of the one you can choose at 5 Guys (the spice wasn't advertised on the menu though). She wasn't that hungry anyway and I'd ordered a meal that would feed 3 Here's Andy's famous sage fried chicken and waffles I've taken the shot from a relatively low angle, this thing was a foot tall Andy also has a couple of other fried chicken based monsters on the menu and I hope he survived the process of developing these dishes! This was great obviously I mean look at it The chicken was good, a little greasy but in a good way and 2 whole airline chicken breasts or supremes of chicken (breast plus wing cut US and UK terminology respectively). The waffles were great and had whole rashers of bacon stuffed through the middle. Loads of syrup to use, chilli and other things around the plate. I also loved the fried leeks, these were delicious albeit deep-fried green veg I pigged out and probably ate about half of this with DW only helping a tiny bit All in all really enjoyed this and would come back maybe for lunch or dinner and a couple of beers. The check was $39, to be expected after ordering basically a full lunch entree at breakfast so I think the value is okay and they do offer coupons etc. at times After this I dropped DW off at Vineland for her 3rd visit of the trip and escaped back to the hotel.

Just catching up a little. I had the chicken and waffles there a few years ago and it was massive but awesome. It did defeat me quickly.
Your dinner last night looked good as well. Hope you are having a great time.

The admiral looks lost next to that monstrous amount of food 😂😂😂😂 that is just crazy . Is it just a tower of food or a masterpiece of chicken ? I can’t stop looking at it but I’m speechless for once😂😂😂😂
