Day 2: OHANA: LILO AND STITCH CHARACTER BREAKFAST

It was Lily Belle’s 10th birthday so during the planning of this trip she wanted to go to this as Stitch is her favourite Disney Character(its weird how Stitch seems to be more popular now)

We’ve been to Ohana several times for dinner and never had the best of experiences so was unsure how this would go. Our adr was for 8am but we were there early as we are still waking up early. I thought 8am was the first adr of the day but 7.45am seemed to be the time. We were let in then with no issue.

Like with dinner, we were shown to the table with our greeter collecting some bread en route to the table. This was Pineapple-Coconut Breakfast Bread. It was really delicious.

Very quickly our server appeared with a fruit platter contains melon, grapes and I think pineapple.

She also brought along a juice that I forget the name of but was basically Jungle Juice. We all love this stuff.

Breakfast is family style where you are brought a big platter of food to the table. The sever said it was all you can eat and we could request more of anything. It was soon brought out and contained Pua’a (Pork)Pork Breakfast Sausage Links and Hawaiian-style Ham topped with Pineapple Compote. Uala Kahiki which were island potatoes, scrambled egg, Mickey/Stitch Waffles and buscuits.

It was all very nice but quite random in the amount of each item in there was more of certain things than others. Evie and I really enjoyed the ham.

.

Pretty soon after we started the characters started to arrive. First was Mickey who saw Lily’s birthday badge and made a big fuss of her. Evie disappointingly has decided she’s too old for the characters. so had to be forced to give Mickey a hug.

Next came the main alien Stitch. Lily can talk for England but clams up around characters but did make real effort to talk to Stitch.

It’s amazing how much better the characters are with some interaction!

I’d heard loads of reports where people mention trouble getting more food here but our server soon appeared asking if we wanted more of everything. We asked for more sausage and waffles which were soon brought to the table.

Next to visit was Pluto who Lily loved. He also forced Evie out of her chair for a cuddle

The meal itself was all done and dusted fairly quickly which I know many would have felt rushed. For us it was fine as we wanted to head over to the Magic Kingdom.

We have done most of the Disney character meals and for us another positive experience. I know we are on the dining plan but as a large portion of this holiday later on isn’t I was very aware of the price. It was $160 odd plus tip. Very pricey if not on the ddp.

On the way out we also had our photo done with Lilo. She was really good when Lily asked her if she’d been in trouble at school today

Overall very positive and 4 t/s credits used.

I’ve never done a family style meal, but the more I hear about it, the more I’m keen to try it! Sounds like a great start to your day! Happy birthday to your daughter- I’m sure she’ll have / has had a magical day 🥳

BE OUR GUEST LUNCH

Like breakfast we were early but it was no issue and we checked in a good 20 minutes before our adr. We were given a yellow rose and directed in. I had pre ordered and was glad we had as the line was huge. I was initially directed in that line even we I said we had pre ordered. It took the CM awhile to twig that I had said that before he showed us into the other line. Once there our bands were scanned and we could make any alterations we needed to our order.

Today we decided to sit in the West Wing. It was much quieter in there which was nice. We helped ourselves to drinks from a drinks station near by.

It took awhile for our food to come and so I checked with someone but it came soon after that.

Lily went for the Croque Monsieur Grilled Sandwich of Carved Ham and Gruyere Cheese and Bechamel with Pommes Frites. She really enjoyed this but found the portion too big.

I went for the French Dip Sandwich Served on a Baguette with Au Jus and Pommes Frites. I really loved this. Packed full of beef and was really good when combined with the au jus.

Kelly went with Carved Turkey Sandwich
Carved Turkey Sandwich served warm on a Baguette with Dijon Mayonnaise and Pommes Frites. Evie had the French dip so they split the two between them. They loved them both but I think the French Dip was the winner.

Overall we really enjoyed this and were all pleasantly surprised about how good it was. A great use of q/s credit.

SASSAGALOLA FOOD COURT DINNER

This was supposed to be an evening at the Magic Kingdom but our plans changed.

We’d been to Disney Springs where I was hoping to get dinner but we ended up getting dinner at the food court instead.

Lily inevitably went for kids Mac and cheese again. She loves the stuff. She got grapes and a cookie as a side.

Kelly and Evie both got the create your own pasta. I’m a bit vague on what they both went for so I’m guessing.

I believe in Kelly’s was penne, marinara sauce, chicken, broccol and Parmesan. She really enjoyed it but it looked way to saucy for me.

Evie went a bit plain with penne, cheese and chicken. She said it was fine though but didn’t eat loads.

I went to a different station and had the Southern Classic - Fried Chicken
choice of three: Mache Choux, Mashed Potatoes, Glazed Carrots, Mac and Cheese, Green Beans and Red Beans and Rice. I didn’t fancy most of the sides so got mash and gravy.

(Note the hidden Mickey)

It wasn’t bad at all. The large piece of chicken was really good. The two smaller ones not so much but I was happy with my choice.

We again swapped our drinks for snacks. Kelly just got some fruit. Evie didn’t want anything so we grabbed a milk for Lily.

I went for the beignets. My first time trying them. You got 3 as a snack. Very donut like. Nice but not sure I’d get them again. The other didn’t like them and found them too “fried”.

Again we were all happy with our food court selections.

Enjoyed catching up on your report.😊
Is the create your own pasta at FQ the same set up as POR? Choose your pasta, sauce, veges, protein & they cook it while you wait?

I'm looking forward to trying the Maple glazed cinnamon roll. Does the maple glazing give it a slightly different taste to a regular cinnamon roll?

Hope you have a lovely day today 😀

Great eats! We love Lilo & Stitch breakfast, Stitch is also my DD's favorite character (she's 19 ), we found we did have to ask for more food but it was brought over straight away so no issues. We can take or leave BOG, we've done breakfast and lunch, we go for the atmosphere/novelty not for the food lol.

Love POFQ, I liked the beignets, dd's didn't but we just got square ones not Mickey shaped

Hope you are all having a great time

A great day of food. We had a late breakfast at Ohana and it wasn't great so look a like early is better.

I felt the same as you about the beignets, we won't be getting them again this summer.

Enjoy and thanks for sharing
