HEY MICKEY YOU'RE SO FINE,YOU'RE SO FINE YOU BLOW MY..MONEY. MAY 2019 Day 9:OUTLET SHOPPING AND DHS

Day 9

HEY MICKEY YOU'RE SO FINE,YOU'RE SO FINE YOU BLOW MY..MONEY. MAY 2019 Index

So today was my most dreaded of days. The shopping day. I'm going to let you in to a little secret. It wasn't actually too bad and I actually bought things as well!

I was up early but I had a good first nights sleep at Encantada. We were not in a rush so the girls and Kelly had a little bit of a lie in while I took the chance to spread out on the sofa and check out the tv. It will was all garbage on tv until I discovered channels from channel 100 upwards were HBO film channels.

There were no plans for breakfast this morning which was a little disappointing but we had toast and pop tarts and unhealthy donuts instead. We were all ready by about 9.15am and with the added space there wasn't too much drama from the girls this morning.

Our destination was for shopping today was the Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets. On our last trip we had gone too the other one at the top of I-Drive so we thought we'd give this one a go. We'd been before to visit the Disney Outlet Store. Much of a muchness for me. I was really determined not to moan too much today.

Traffic was quite heavy and the car park looked pretty busy as we pulled in so I grabbed the first disabled bay I saw which was outside Ralph Lauren.

We walked in and it was decided that the Disney Outlet store would be the first place we would visit. We walked through the food court where I was already making a mental note of what I'd be having for lunch. It brought back memories of my youth where physically I'd be at the night club but mentally I'd be choosing if I'd be getting a kebab or cheap chicken from Chicken Royale afterwards.

The Disney Store could only be described as utter chaos inside. It was heaving.

I tried to be brave and push on through but after 5 minutes I had to make a break for it. This was heightened by over hearing a couple of dorks discussing the benefits of Apple Pay so loudly they may have been using megaphones.

It was so busy I didn't think I could see a way out. Luckily I'd pre planned and tattooed escape plans on my body a'la Micheal Scofield and I made it out. Even the girls did the same. We took a seat outside and waited. And waited. Not Kelly's fault. She chose her items fairly quickly but must have taken 20 minutes in the queue to pay. She bought a Mickey Glove vase, Monsters Inc T-shirt. Lily bought a 'See Ya Real Soon' t-shirt. They would have gotten more but it was too busy.

Next into the Nike shop. We had a bit of a look around. The theme would be looking for trainers for Evie but we'd have to give up as she is the fussiest person about trainers and I'm not exaggerating. I bought a Nike t-shirt and Lily bought a mini basketball that she said she'd pay back later. I'm still waiting for that.

Next into Sketchers. I had plans for to get some as I love them. It's usually buy one pair get a second pair free. It didn't take me long too choose two pairs which cost me a total of $79.95. I bought some blue ones with a white sole and a pair of all black ones that are bad boys. Evie was back to her moaning self saying she couldn't find anything to buy and no one was helping her. As explained earlier, trainer shopping and Evie is a nightmare so we were giving her a wide berth.

Next on to the Adidas store where thankfully Evie managed to find somethings to buy. She wouldn't cheer up until she did. She bought leggings and a hoodie. Lily bought a couple of t-shirts. Kelly bought a rucksack and a jumper.

The Levi store was next and I continued my spree by buying a t-shirt which was a total of $21.29. No one else bought anything in here so we weren't too long in here.

This was followed by Converse. I kept up the t-shirt buying frenzy with another from here at $9.57. Evie again was a nightmare in here. She found some white converse she liked but then refused to pay the price for a pair of trainers. It was again buy one pair get 50% off. She then ended up buying two pairs anyway. This probably took 4 hours for her to choose. She chose a baby pink pair and a tye dye pair as her second pair. Kelly bought a knitted black winter jumper which was useful for this trip in Florida.

She continued this theme of buying a couple of jumpers in the Vans shop. I kept up my t-shirtapalooza in here by buying 3 for $30.

On to the Croc store. I was contemplating buying some from here. I don't like wearing sandal type things but it was getting too hot for trainers so I bought some pretty comfortable looking flip flop type things. Kelly also got a pair of crocs and it was the same buy one pair get a second for 50% off. Total was $61.

The girls had a look in Claire's and bought a few bits and bobs and then followed this up by looking in some kind of beauty shop.

We were all pretty hungry now so we headed to the food court. 3 different venues for the four of us which took some coordination

Lily of course had to have the most boring one. Subway. Ham and cheese sub with cucumber. She had a meal so got milk as a drink and a cookies as a side but they gave her two. It was around $7

Kelly fancied something different so got hers from the Teriyaki grill so she went for noodles with orange chicken and some other chicken that I forgot to take a note off Around $12 with a large drink. She really enjoyed this.

Me and Evie went for Charley’s Philly CheeseSteak. We got Philly cheesesteaks with loaded fries. The fries had cheese, ranch and bacon. The subs were only the small ones but were a good size. I thought these were great. Evie only thought it was ok. I’d definitely get them again. With drinks it was around $23.

Not bad for a food court.

We decided that once we'd finished that we head to Target next to continue the shopping. We done all we wanted at the Outlets and had a pretty successful visit. Evie was fuming about having to continue shopping but we were hoping she'd find some more clothes to stop the tantrums. We headed to the one at Rolling Oaks again. I to be honest lost interest after 5 minutes in here so i just wondered around while the ladies shopped. I did get myself another couple of pairs of shorts though.

We were probably in there for an hour or so and various things were bought. Lily bought a couple of Barbies with her birthday money and Kelly and Evie bought some clothes. We bought a few more food items as well before we were done.

One of our better shopping days I think. Me and Evie were desperate now to go for a swim. We headed back to Encantada where we loaded all our wares into the townhouse.

We quickly got into our swimming gear before driving to the pool. This was my first glimpse of it and it looked nice. There were two pools. One was a fairly big pool that looked nicer but it seemed only to used by adults relaxing so we went to the other kid friendly pool. This was much smaller and in my opinion not as nice. It was pretty busy and therefore a little crowded. I was a little concerned by how much time we'd actually want to spend in this pool as it was a little small. However any other time we went we ended up in the far nicer bigger pool.

We probably spent an hour or so here before heading back to the townhouse to chill out for an hour or so.

I initially thought that we might have a fairly relaxed evening but that felt like a waste so we decided on getting some food before heading to Hollywood Studios for a little bit and the Star Wars Fireworks.

For dinner Kelly didn’t want a proper sit down evening meal which somewhat annoyed me but all was resolved when she agreed to Culvers located near us on the 192. I heard good things about it.

You could see it was a fairly new location as you drove in and was also busy which for me is a good sign.

We spent a few minutes to the side deciding what to order. The sever was very helpful though. Everything is cooked fresh to order and brought to the table.

Kelly and the girls all had the same. Crispy Chicken burgers as a meal which came with a drink and fries. Fries are crinkle cut. They all really enjoyed them. Kelly notes how you could tell it was freshly made. The kids had smoothies as their drinks.

I went for the Culvers Bacon deluxe double. This was really really good. Up there with the best quick service burger I’ve eaten.

A fantastic quick service burger location. Great value as well. Cost was $40.

I’m going to be raving about this place Five Guys, Shake Shack, move aside. There’s a new boss in town.

Next on to Hollywood Studios. This was a welcome return back to Disney but then a reality check when I had to pay the $25 parking charge. Ouch!

It was still really hot even though it was now around 7pm. We took awhile to find a disabled parking spot but eventually did. One thing we noticed was the bag check area had now moved to a new location and all the entrance area had changed dramatically with lots of hoarding up for new building works.

Once inside Kelly asked the person selling the balloons if she could take some pictures of the girls holding the balloons which was fine.

We headed over to Toy Story Land to get a DAS for Slinky Dog. The DAS was obtained at the very start of Toy Story Land so we didn't need to head all the way in. We had a about 40 minutes to wait before we could use it. We had a little look around where the old entrance for Toy Story Mania which is now dedicated to The Incredibles.

We then moved fully into Toy Story Land and had a good look around.

We looked at Woody's Lunchbox(snigger) but there wasn't anything snack wise that we fancied so we decided to leave snacks until later. It was soon time for Slinky Dog and once again we all really enjoyed it. A very fun family coaster.

I did have a fastpass for Toy Story Mania so we headed on to that. As much as it pains me Kelly won that one.

We passed an Green Army Man and Kelly told Lily to say "Soldier On Duty." He turned round a spoke to us a posed for photos.

The girls then both bought some glow in the dark Slinky Dogs.

We left Toy Story Land to get a good spot for the fireworks. On the way we grabbed a few snacks. All I can say is I miss not having the dining plan.

2 large chocolate donuts for Lily and Kelly.

A cookies and cream donut for me.

A strawberry and passion fruit smoothie for Evie. This was like a frozen jungle juice.

With a Diet Coke it was $26.50

We then decided to go and get a good spot for the fireworks. It was still fairly early and we had about an hour to wait. We initially sat on a bench opposite the old Great Movie Ride. After awhile we realised that this was probably to close to the front and moved back a bit. We were able to sit on the floor and we had a pretty good spot. While waiting I went and asked for cups of water from one of the stalls which was free.

There was new show just before the fireworks started called Wonderful World Of Animation which was projected onto the chinese theatre which we enjoyed. At 9.30pm the Star Wars Fireworks started and these were really good. I'm a massive Star Wars fan and I really enjoyed them. Again it's doubtful how much Evie can see but she seemed happy enough.

After the fireworks we headed out. Even with the crowds from this and Fantasmic all leaving together its an amazingly smooth exit out of the park. We were soon in the car and making our way out.

The drive back didn't take too long but this is where I missed being onsite as we had further to get back.

Once back were all soon chilling out after a pretty good day!

Thanks for reading

George

Great day, love those light up slinky things!

Really feeling your shopping pain through this trippie; I'm very fortunate that my girls and I are pretty united in not liking the shops too much - youngest will linger around the Disney shops near the ride exits in the hope of adding something to her collection, but is often distracted!

We discovered Culvers this year. Really lucky. Just driving past, saw all the pensioners (I’m one) heading in & thought this must be a good value place. 😂
Loved it, quality food & the custard is yummy. We went back twice!

Really enjoying your trippie. Reminds me of trips when my daughters were young.
Btw, our shopping days now last all day - so you’ve got that to look forward to. Hehe.

You certainly managed to make the most of your shopping day. We don't usually do much in the way of shopping when we're there but I think the girls are keen to change this next time. The glow in the dark slinkys look like great fun.

We try and put separate money for the girls to spend so it makes it more exciting for them

Culvers sounds good. Our best fast food burger was from In Out Burger in California, so it's good to know of somewhere else to try in Orlando. I've seen their adverts while over there so another to add to our list. What a good day of shopping and Hollywood Studios.
